Controls are clunky indeed, and they really should have made it so that you can move around with left hand using navi controller.

You can move around freely, but all movement is done using just the single move controller. You press Move button to move forward, and you navigate by pointing with move. In practice it feels clunkier than it sounds.

I'm just using a standard controller, and it feels clunky as hell with that too. Just turning around feels like a tug of war. You need a lot of patience for this game.

With standard controller they didn't implemented typical control scheme either. What they should have done is normal front/back/strafe mapped on navi controller, and move pointing for camera aiming/steering.
