So what's that, 3-4 years of wii u support. So much confidence in your products Nintendo.
Sales aren't going to suddenly rebound though. Might as well move on.

I know but that's still incredibly short. REALLY short cycle.Sales aren't going to suddenly rebound though. Might as well move on.
Holy shit. THAT fast? Is this the fastest termination for a high-profile console ever?
I honestly think some teams have been working on NX titles since early 2014.
Trev didn't even mention Paper Mario directly, just a code name. And his source wouldn't likely have all the information anyway. I don't think it's wise to take everything his source told him as unchanging truth.
Not necessarily. It may not have been planned as one at that point, hell they may change gears and pull a Super Paper Mario like now for all we know.
Even then, the point about the recent announcement still stands. We could get a cross-gen release, but it won't be moved.Trev's leak didn't/couldn't even identify Color Splash, and it being announced in March doesn't preclude Nintendo from deciding to delay/move it later.

I'm ready for them to finish the DK Country Returns trilogy.Retro Studios, I see you, boo. Whatchu got cookin'?!
maybe not confrontational but definitely defensive. i really don't know what crap other people are giving Wii U and i don't make shit posts. if you're fan of the Wii U that's great but it doesn't change the fact they're shifting focus after finally releasing some decent potential system seller games.
why did i say 32x is bc SEGA did pretty much the same thing and abandoned it after people brought it. I wasn't going to fall for it. if you want to get technical and say X number of games were already out on Wii U etc. etc. shall i say then it's like the Sega CD, Saturn. or can i say the DSi? i'll throw in lynx and neogeo pocket.
whatever the case, i posted exactly what i thought bc i was about to BUY the system, not to personally take a dump on you or Wii U fans. and if that stirs certain emotional apologetic fervor, it's not going to change my opinion that i felt i was almost duped.
if it was about a month later, and read the news after i brought the system and couldn't return it. i still wouldn't be shitting on the thread but i'd legit be pretty upset and prob compare it to the 32x as inaccurate as that sounds to you.
alright! but i will see you on the ps1 and retro threads! i like your ps1 collection, btw!

Dreamcast, Neo-Geo AES, Atari Jaguar

Bububut the Wii U lasted less! Its the shortest cycle ever, sold less than all those systems combined! NX will last 10 years + at least. How many people have come in here saying how this is the shortest cycle ever without thinking about Dreamcast, Saturn, Neo Geo, the original Xbox etc?

I got some real damn good responses to my question I asked earlier. I've read every single post. Thank you all! Seems like most of you are very happy with your purchase for the vastly fun exclusive titles, and are contempt with the 4-5 year cycles of console, with some being disappointed at it. Someone brought up that 4-5 year cycle of a console is a norm and that last generation was an anomaly that lasted so long.
NX will probably release at the end of this year, making Nintendo's release a 4 year cycle.
PS4.5 and Xbox 1.5 may release at the end of 2017, also making it a 4 year cycle, but forcefully extending it's cycle to 8 years by making it an iteration. Should we expect future generations to be 4 year cycles for gaming, with a new iteration boosting the cycle to 8 years? With speculations of Xbox 1.5 or PS4.5, do you guys believe Sony and Microsoft are desperate to extend the generation of the console cycle to match last gen's anomaly?
The answer is deep inside you.Should I sell my Wii U and save money for NX?
I still dont understand this. Is the Wii U outside in the rain looking in? If so, why is it a ghost? Or is it inside looking out at the rain and that's its reflection? Why would it want to be in the rain? Or is it just depressed that it's raining outside?
"The Wii U is Nintendo's worst selling console to date with only 12.6 million units shipped. Even Gamecube sold over 20 million units."
Fuck.
Man the Wii U is being discontinued before the Vita what is happening?
Yes PS4.5 (and PSVR!)and Xbox One half are here to extend the generation, but maybe in a more, "elegant" way instead of just relying on the same base model for 8+ years. Who knows where the NX will fit in.I got some real damn good responses to my question I asked earlier. I've read every single post. Thank you all! So those that bought a Wii U, are you happy with what you got? Are you happy with the 4 year production cycle of the console?
It felt dead for the last 1.5-2 years. Kinda slowed the enthusiasm of the system.
It will be a nice cult system with some hits but I hope lots of it gets ported to NX
Confidence? Wii U? I'd say the very last ounce of reasoning behind being confident about it was consumed around the time Mario Kart 8 only caused an uptick in hardware sales as opposed to an explosion. Some would say its fate was sealed way before that even.
Four years is short, but hardly unprecedented and very much justified.

SMM Deleted Edition can't come soon enough along:]NX must be backward compatible, right? Super Mario Maker needs to keep going.
