Hmm I feel like August has been the slowest month so far: Only have purchased Slim-San and Sonic Mania. At least Mario + Rabbids is coming at the end of the month.
In terms of content, August is much much higher than April/May/June, specially considering that the NeoGAF thread listsings aren't accurate (both De Mambo and Bulb Boy were delayed to July).
As far as other August releases, Ironcast is absolutely fantastic and got stellar reviews, Strikers 1945 is a great retro schmup, Flip Wars is a good game but low on content, Severed is a awesome touchscreen game (if you haven't played on previous platforms), forma.8 and Piczle Lines DX seems like solid releases this week.
Interesting. There are posts elsewhere on Gaf that this hasn't worked for others. Going to have to try it myself.

The company actually seems pretty new looking at their site. I would quite like to get one of those and you are correct, there isn't really much that can go wrong, I think I'll just see what people think when their stuff starts being reviewed.

I actually think this may be the best post-launch month so far. I've bought way too much and Mario + Rabbids is still to come.

If what I'm seeing is correct, it looks like redownloading the demo resets the limit.

What's amusing about the play limit in Pokken is that they had to bake it into the software, there's no system for doing that on the Switch OS itself like the 3DS has. I assumed the lack of such a system meant we wouldn't see this, but apparently they just decided to put in the extra effort to make it happen.
Select the user icon in the top right corner of the eShop for Account Info, then the 3rd option is "Redownload"
Meanwhile, they really need to add a "demo" section to the eShop, though at the very least, searching for "demo" tends to help.
I was really looking forward to playing that puzzle game that comes out today, but after having seen some gameplay I'm not sure anymore.
Coming off of stuff like the Picross E series and Picross 3D, this game comes across as super janky. The amount and length of its loading screens is really baffling. Its input method of moving a cursor across a screen (instead of allowing for simple directional input across a grid) seems suboptimal and that it doesn't even display the entire 'play field' at once is a strange choice. It doesn't help that its presentation makes it come across like a phone game that I could get for under a fiver either.
Edit: Ah, well it appears I shouldn't be surprised. It is in fact a port of a phone game (total in-app purchase cost comes out higher than the Switch version's price though I don't know if all puzzle packs are in included in the Switch version). I wonder if its home screen icon on Switch will be the same as the one on iOS.

It's actually quite good tbh, and i never really notice the loading screens. Touchscreen control is the best option, controllers are serviceable though.

Gotcha. For what it's worth, I've been playing the mobile version and I quite like it there. The interface makes a lot more sense in that context.

Just an update to all the kindly people who offered me advice! I went with Hyrule Warriors Legends. I love it! The framerate has some jank but I have no idea what I'm missing since I haven't touched the n3DS version and Musou games make it so easy to just zone out and chill. Switch port soon, I hope. Thanks for all the advice, friends!

Much like Voez, the Switch version comes with everything unlocked from the get go, and the cost of the mobile app +packs > switch cost.

Wii U (+DS/3DS) = resistive (=hence stylus usage)
Switch (+ all your smart devices) = capacitive (hence finger only unless you use a special stylus)
VOEZ is not on Wii U or anything other than mobile and Switch.

Tried the Voez demo from the Japanese eShop, it'll default to English if you choose your US account.
You can play 3 different songs with each difficulty. Game teases you by showing all the songs you could play being locked off.
Game really makes me wish I could use my bluetooth headphones on the Switch so I can listen better instead of defaulting to my cheaper, not as good wired ones.
