Nintendo Downloads - March 2016

In re: SNES VC , it appears to be for N3DS only based on that leak. So it seems that's likely happening since the leak has been corroborated by multiple sources in the Direct thread.

As to Mother 3, as with Paper Mario U, I expect to see those announcements very soon...hopefully today but we shall see. Depends how much more there is to the Direct than what's in the leak, hopefully some cool stuff will also be shown beyond what's in the leak if the leak is indeed correct.

I hope (although by no means expecting) that the announcement of Mother 3 comes along with Fire Emblem 6, so that it can finally be said "Every game that starred the playable characters from the Smash Bros. series can now be played worldwide".

Yeah I figured it would be a slow week due to TP:HD. Maybe we'll get a surprise from the Direct. Cmon Picross 3D!

I loved Pac Man 2 as a child. I kept renting it over and over again.
Never got to the end though :(

The Kemco floodgates have opened on the 3DS.

Justice Chronicles

I feel at least partially responsible. When Kemco asked what they should be investing their time in on Facebook, I suggested they port their mobile back catalogue to 3DS as old school JRPGs typically do pretty well there. To my surprise, whoever runs their account responded back, agreeing with me.

Considering there's a direct in 2 hours, I feel like they might have a surprise "after this direct" launch for at least one game.

..................like Boy Boy 2?

Zonic

lol I just realized my typo. BOX Boy 2.

I also wonder if that Mini Mario amiibo game will get confirmed here as well. Would be neat as a free download, as in Japan, you got a voucher or whatever for both systems when you bought an amiibo.

Zonic

Cool, they mentioned that the Mini Mario game will indeed be free in April, but you can get it earlier via buying any amiibo.

......but no Box Boy 2.....

Blarg, I figured it'd be too good to be true, but if you own a SNES game on Wii U, it of course won't give you a discount on the New 3DS.

I so would've played Earthbound on the go, but don't feel like buying it again....

I own a N3DS XL but sorry Nintendo, I'm not gonna rebuy all my SNES games again on handheld.

Not crossbuy, not even a discount deal besides buy one get the other cheaper, what if I don't even want the other?

*shakes head*

And where the heck is VC Mario Advance 3 in 'PAL-land'? I was actually exited for it so of course its the thing that takes ages to come out. :(

Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge is free if you buy an amiibo from GameStop, Amazon, or Best Buy starting March 25th, then will be a free download on the eShop April 28th.

Also Bravely Second demo hitting next week.

Also $11.29 for Canadians on n3ds while $8 on the wiiu.
Ugh, these are the first VC games (not counting Wii on Wii U) to be more expensive, right?

Also, even though the last MH4U sale was the same in Canada and the US, now in Canada it's $28 on sale. That's disappointing, I was planning to finally get it.

Just to recap the SNES schedule on 3DS VC:

Right now:

- F-Zero
- Super Mario World
- Pilotwings

March 24th:

- Donkey Kong Country
- Earthbound
- Super Mario Kart

April 14th:

- Super Metroid
- Link to the Past
- Donkey Kong Country 2

Man after VC on the 3DS being dead for so long this very week gives us Pokemon Blue, Red and Yellow, Super Mario World and Earthbound!

Price points and lack of cross-buy/discount aside... It's pretty amazing :D

I kind of like how EU is doing it. We gotta wait 3 weeks for the next set of games, then another 3 weeks.

Still waiting for My Nintendo to launch before buying more digital games so I can earn points towards it.

Edit: Speaking of EU, I'm hearing they're getting the Hyrule Warriors Legends demo later today?

There was some good news from that Nintendo direct. I haven't actually watched it yet, just looked at news sites and read threads. I don't have a new 3ds so I won't be able to get SNES games, but I'm glad it's happening anyway.

Also Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, new Kirby, and Rhythm Heaven (never played that series) interest me.

The Gameboy Pokémon r/b/y were the first virtual console games where it was priced higher in canada than the US to my recollection.

See I was doing this too, which is why I haven't picked Pokemon up, but in EU buying any SNES title during its launch week gets you 50% off a second title.
Can't see the points being as valuable as the amount saved so I'll cave, but just for now!

And yeah, we get that and the Yokai demo (finally!) shortly.

Wow, that's actually kind of nice. I'd get DKC2 then pick up Earthbound for half price.

Now I just wonder how many more games we'll get after this & if it'll match the Wii U VC library eventually.

For all the (justified) complaining about N3DS SNES Virtual Console policy, I am heartened by the fact they're rolling out a ton of titles all off the hop. Hopefully Nintendo keeps this in mind when the time comes on the NX.

I guess I should hold off too. Earning points for Club Nintendo and actually getting rewards was great. I got a 2016 calendar, retro Mario t-shirt, 3ds games case, and a few digital games.

I hope My Nintendo is good too.

I played the Yokai Watch and Hyrule Warriors Legends demos earlier.

Yokai Watch seems to be pretty cool. It looks great, which is to be expected form a Level-5 game, I guess and the yokai seem to have a good mix of cute and disgusting/unnerving. I am not entirely convinced by the combat system though. I think it's an interesting concept but I am not sure if the demo is representative of it. I can see the mini games getting annoying real quick and I don't like how you don't know what the effect of the special attacks is until you use it. I also hope the full game is a little bit more challenging.

Hyrule Warriors Legends just made me want to go buy the Wii U version but I'm too pissed at the way they're handling DLC.
