EAD Tokyo team 2 (under Koichi Hayashida) developed SMG2 and 3D Land. Team 1 (under Yoshiaki Koizumi) hasn't put out a game since the first SMG.EAD Tokyo needs a break if its making the game. That would make it three Mario games it has developed and released in the last 3 years on 3 different platforms. Well, it may not be ready for 2012 like how Mario Galaxy came out a year later.
a new Super Mario Bros, or a New Super Mario Bros?
a new Super Mario Bros, or a New Super Mario Bros?
Good question...Even each words of the thread's title have caps to start with.Nintendo Confirms New Super Mario Bros. For Wii U - Reveal at E3
The burning question is: 2D or 3D?
Wii U bought.
Why couldnt EAD 1 have a game? They haven't really made anything since SMG1.The article itself doesn't say New Super Mario Bros., but since they showed off the prototype at E3 last year and the unlikelihood of EAD Tokyo having a full-fledged 3D Mario title out for the launch, I'd have to think that a 2D Mario is more likely than it is not.
Some games won't have resolution at all! It's weird that Miyamoto specifically mentions Pikmin "which will take advantage of the new HD screen resolution". It almost sounds as if he's saying some games won't.

The real news here is that we'll have a 2D Mario game as launch title of a new Nintendo home system. The last time it happened it was with N64.
Lol, like you didn't expect the thing to ever get a Mario.
Yeah, I entered expecting a New Super Mario Bros game. Luckily, it was not the case.Capitalized thread title is a bit misleading. "a new SMB game" is not the same as "NSMB game".
Nope, that's because Pikmin 3 started as a Wii project. It's weird that Miyamoto specifically mentions Pikmin "which will take advantage of the new HD screen resolution". It almost sounds as if he's saying some games won't.
I wish this thread said Smash 4 would be shown.
Praise the lawd. Please be 3D.Shocking news.
Also, it's a "new Super Mario Bros. game", not a new "New! Super Mario Bros." game.
3DS will already get a new 2D Mario this year, i dont expect another on WiiU - especially since a 3D title would profit way more from the tablet controller.
3D Mario on home console for me.
Some games won't have resolution at all!
What if it's the same game on 3DS and WiiU?!?!?!
Bet you didn't think about that did ya?
I wonder if we'll have to rescue Peach again.
It's probably going to be NSMB Mii.
Unless they don't want it to directly compete with the new 2D Mario on 3DS.
What could they even show? Development just started.
Yeah good thing Nintendo has never done anything crazy. They'd be crazy to release 2 2D marios during the same period tbh...
Yes. It would be dumb. But then they'd sell less copies.
