Hi guys I went all out in May 2014 and built a i7 4770k and r9 290x.

How much faster is 480x or 1080 gtx

Where do u find this kind of stuff.

i7 4770k is oced to 4.5 ghz and a bit of oc to r9 290x I am currently playing Fallout 4 on ultra 1080p 60 fps and Witcher 3 ultra with foliage slider on high 70 fps...

Win7. I feel that I need to finish games before even considering to upgrade.
RX 480 will be a solid card for 1080p 60fps but there are no benchmarks results until June 29th when the card definitively launches costing $200-250.

GTX 1080 is another segment made to play games over 1440p 120-140fps and the first single card to solid 4K 30fps... it is already released with full benchmarks costing $650-750.

There is a cheaper option (~$400) called GTX 1070 that is a solid option for resolution below 4K.

First, it's a rumor. Second, that's the $300 version with two power inputs.
That didn't look good.

I'm ok with Nvidia selling their cards for a premium it's their right. The only thing I have a problem with is if you're selling your card for a premium put a decent fucking cooler on it you assholes. Spend the extra $5 in manufacturing costs and do your loyal customers a favor so they don't have to take their brand new card apart and do your job for you.

That I find shameful. Don't sell me a premium product then piss down my back.

I keep reading that but 480 and 1070 didn't even compete in the same market... 480 is a good option for 1080p gaming while 1070 is a good option for 1440p gaming.

There is a power gap between them.

If you have a 970 I don't thing 480 will make your gaming life that better... it will give some boost in fps but that won't be something that changes the experience in 1080p.

Hmm, interesting. If this is the case then yea, I'll pass. I want to move to 1440p if anything, eventually.
