Chris Bosh said after the last game that if the current group had been together all season, they would have had home court.

I'm counting that as a post-season moral victory.

I think Chicago is young and talented enough to steal one from Boston, especially cause they'll be working in a kind of rusty rotation, but Boston's too good.

I would like to have picked the Pistons to win one game but they look horrendous right now and I don't think they give a shit anymore.

I would have picked Miami in 7 but that's a homecourt game where I think I'd be heartbroken. So we win on ours in 6 (that better fucking happen)

Orlando doesn't look so great but Philly looks worse. So 5 for them.

Lakers sweep Jazz. Boozer bolts in the offseason. Jeff-DSA meltdown Part II ensues.

Denver in 6 cause New Orleans is not healthy and not really on a roll whatsoever, and Denver is too stacked for them.

San Antonio barely edges out Dallas ... I think Parker edges out Kidd for this one.

Portland/Houston was the toughest series to pick, either Roy has his playoff coming out party or the combo of Battier/Artest slows him down. I picked for him to explode on the scene and take advantage of homecourt. It's also destiny for the Rockets to lose in game 7 in the first round again.

Lakers in 4, Jeff-DSA finally snaps and throws his magic underwear at the TV
New Orleans in 6, Denver implodes and the only guy who shows up is Mr. Big Shot
Dallas in 6, Spurs are just too beaten up, although TP will clown Kidd hard enough for commish to troll him another -- wait what am I saying commish would troll him anyway
Houston in 7, only because I want to see TMac commit suicide at the press conference after (real pick: Portland in 6 because I think Brandon Roy's ice cold 4th quarter play will mitigate the usual playoff pressure)

East
Cavs in 4, Pistons don't give a fuck, probably didn't even want to make the playoffs this season
Boston in 7, they will barely hang on to win despite being a way better overall team than the Bulls
Orlando in 4, Philly's best matchup is Iguodala vs the garbage Orlando has at PG
Atlanta in 6, a good, rising young team and the Heat have a complete retard head coach

So is KG ready to play ?

Stupid fuckers losing to Toronto. Against the Magic there would have been a minimal chance of advancing to the second round, now the Bulls are screwed :(

You all have the Cavs in 4?

I think the heart of a champion will at least awaken for 2 games. The Pistons hate the Cavs just about as much as the Wizards do. I think this is the only possible matchup for Pistons where they could actually show up for a few games. Plus expectations are super low for the Pistons and expectations are sky high for the Cavs. The Pistons always over-perform when they're the underdog and written off.

The Hawks/Heat is going to be a good series. I'm pulling for Miami. Wade deserves some playoff success after the year he's had.

The Bulls and Sixers will be just speed bumps for Orlando and Boston.

The Pistons are over the hill and have no leader. The Cavs should destroy them in 4 games where Lebron sits 2 of the 4 4th quarters. Heart of a champion may get the Pistons to eek out a game if the Cavs play awful but I just can't see it happening.

I think the Bulls are going to give the Celtics one hell of a series.

After watching Philly play its starters the entire game and overtime against the Cavs 6th-12th men each of their 4 games will be over by the 6 minute mark of the 1st quarter. Orlando won the first round bye lottery

In an interview this morning on Boston sports radio station WEEI, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said it was likely that Kevin Garnett would not be ready to play at all in the playoffs. "After today there's no way he can play," said Rivers, who left open the possibility his star could return at some point in the postseason but was not optimistic.

More on this breaking story in a bit ...

1. Lakers vs Jazz: Lakers in 5

The Lakers take this in no more than 5 games. I think we give the Jazz one due to fatigue from having to BEAT THIS FUCKING TEAM 5 TIMES IN A ROW FUCK. The Jazz are a weaker team than they were last year and the Lakers are better than they were last year. Adding Drew into the mix should let us in this one a game earlier.

2. Nuggets vs Hornets: Nuggets in 6

The Nuggets looked like shit last night imo but the Hornets aren't good enough defensively or consistent enough offensively to overcome the Nuggets. CP3 will play well but the matchup against Billups is bad for him. A veteran championship winning PG with size, strength and swagger will leave CP3 struggling to hit that 25 and 12 mark he'll need to hit in order to even sniff winning the series. Posey and West will give them a spark but Melo and Nene prove to be to much.

3. Spurs vs Mavericks: Mavericks in 7

The Mavs are playing good ball lately. They've found their swag and are firing at all cylinders. Still though the Spurs are the Spurs and Pop and the gang give them all they can handle and surprisingly fall on their homecourt. Tony gives them all they can handle by testing Kidds veteran legs and scoring effortlessly for 27+ppg for the series. Dirk goes off though and the energy and running of the Mavs along with great play by JET knocks the veteran club down and the sun officially sets...

4. Blazers vs Rockets: Blazers in 6

The Blazers just have more depth at every point on the floor. The huge difference maker here is Pryz...coming off of the bench and gobbling up boards left and right against an undersized frontcourt (rockets bench that is) and giving the Blazers bench a consistent edge that proves to much for the Rockets starters to overcome without McGrady.

Pryz is the starter though, although Greg has only been playing better since his return from injury, so Im not too worried.

Its a good thing for the Blazers that theyre probably playing their best basketball of the season right now, if they can keep build on that momentum they can beat Houston.

Houston's chances of making it out of the first round is over, unfortunately. If the Blazers were playing mediocre basketball I'd give the edge to the rockets... but that's not the case is it. Blazers in 4. It's Sweeps Week motherfuckers.

Fuuuuuuck at KG news. I still think they can beat the Bulls, but after that....w/o KG for 1/3 or so of the season they still won 62.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

1. Cavaliers vs Pistons: Cavs in 4

I did my best to think of a scenario where the Pistons get a win here but EVERYTHING is against them. I'd like to think that the Pistons try to bring that championship quality back to their play for just a game but that swagger will be torn to shreds after the first two inevitable losses at the Q. After being dominated by shear teamwork in the first two games James decides to take it upon himself to rip their pride out and goes for 40+ in Detroit in game 3 to seal the series :lol

2. Celtics vs Bulls: Celtics in 5

Yeah I heard the Garnett news but the Celtics still have way to much heart and their bench players have improved to much this season to fall to the Bulls more than once. The Bulls aren't the Hawks...they just don't have the players to get it done. Rondo will get embarrassed plenty of times by Rose but beyond that The C's have their way as they pull together as much rage and pride together as they can muster as a result of the loss of KG.

3. Magic vs Sixers: Magic in 5

The Sixers can't shoot and will have to slash against the best defensive player in the league. They'll try to run but it won't work. Howard posts ridiculous numbers due to the Sixers trying to go inside all the time and shooting shit shots so Howard probably averages something like 23 and 17 with like 3 blocks :lol

4. Hawks vs Heat: Hawks in 6

The Hawks have homecourt and imo to much firepower. Wade is capable of going off and so he takes them to 6 games but I just think the homecourt will be the deciding factor. They've dominated the season series and their growth from taking the Celtics to 7 games last year will be obvious during their playoff run this year.

Lakers in 5

Seems the Jazz are in a bad way right now. Matching up against the Lakers to start the playoffs make it even worse. I imagine things will - um - 'fall' into place at least once on the Jazz home floor, but it'll be hard for them to come up with more than that. Not that the Jazz couldn't make a series out of it, but not the way they are playing right now.

Nuggets in 6

Nuggets have too much firepower for the Hornets, especially if we're looking at a gimpy Chandler. Billups might be enough to keep Paul from averaging big numbers in this series. Still, this is the Nuggets (who I still can't quite believe are the second seed) and they can go from hot to stupid in a few baskets. An upset wouldn't necessarily surprise me here.

Spurs in 7

This is tough. The Mavs are hot right now, but every year people think the Spurs are finally 'past their prime'. Duncan looks to be getting healthy, and Parker is Parker. Obviously the loss of Manu puts them in a much different place, but the Spurs are still a veteran team and good defensively when they want to be. Who knows, maybe they will be extra motivated since everyone wrote them off when Ginobili went down. It will come down to the role players for the Spurs. Meanwhile, the Mavs will need Dirk to continue playing at a high level, which doesn't always happen consistently in a playoff series. Add to that they will need Howard to be consistent and someone (Dampier? heh) to stop Duncan and it might be a tall order.

Rockets in 6

I know the Rockets first round curse is a hell of an opponent to overcome right off the bat, but they have matched up well with the Blazers. The Blazers are young and athletic, which definitely could be a problem, and the disappointing last day of the season cost the Rockets home court which could definitely come back to bite them in the ass. Still, it will come down to what they do about Yao. Pryzbilla will try and flop and hammer Yao to stop him; it's just a matter of how well it works. And if the Rockets forget Yao's on the team again. If Outlaw or LA really play at a higher level it could be a really tough time for the Rockets. I'm hoping that doesn't happen. :D

K.Jack

Knowledge is power, guard it well
West
Los Angeles in 5 - Utah will mess around and win their second home game.
New Orleans in 6 - Denver has no stopper for CP3.
San Antonio in 6 - I love Tony.
Portland in 6 - RonRon will meltdown against the raw talent overflow of Portland. Oden doesn't foul out. China hit by tsunami of tears.

East
Boston in 7 - No KG? Damn but it's still Chicago. Pierce + Allen + Rondo is still too much.
Cleveland in 4 - Nuff said. No KG = cakewalk to the Finals kekeke.
Orlando in 6 - I'm not a believer. Orlando's three-point shooter will have bad games, and Dwight always disappears every one in a while.
Atlanta in 7 -Sleeper upset. Bye bye D.Wade. Blame the coach for not starting Greg Beastly.

So.. LA plays whoever wins out of Houston/Portland, right? So if Dallas and NO both win their series.. Dallas would actually host a playoff series as the 6 seed while whoever advances from 4/5 would be on the road in LA? Or does it re-seed after each round?
