Really hope the XB1X can turn things around for MS. Sony seriously has it too easy right now + another killer first half lineup planned next year.

Being ahead of X1 doesn't say too much considering sales have probably stalled for X1. Either way, considering UK is one of Nintendo's weaker areas, it seems to be alright. Especially since WW is more than picking up the slack.

PS4 doing PS4 things as usual.

The fact that Switch in one of its weakest markets is doing better than XBO in its second best market is very telling on how bad is doing XBO everywhere this year

At best, I see X giving MS a shot in the arm but it will fade away going into 2018. I don't think their lineup is strong enough to carry any momentum from X.

Right, that tweet speaks to how poorly X1 is doing more than anything else.

Yeah, looking at Dring's response to a question, it seems PS4 is leaving XB1 in the dust even in its second-biggest market:

Christopher Dring said:
[PS$ & XB1 are] Not really [close]. They're [XB1 & PS4] closer than they are in other markets. But PS4 is far away No.1 in the market

XB1 sales, from all we can gather, seem pretty dire.

Just shows how much the stock problems of Switch have been about limited supply rather than because of insane demand. Well below PS4 for the year and only few weeks ago Switch started to be in stock regularly in UK.

But I think we can pretty much say these sales numbers, however much lower than D1, will have an insane attach rate even after 2 - 3 months. Bungie has hit gold there.

a little context on this

USA sales so far (excluding August)
Ps4: 1997k
SW: 1794k
Xb1: ~1112k

not sure if you know the definition of attach rate

attachrate is the % of installbase who owns / bought the game
and that numbers is obviously way way lower for Destiny 2 compared to Destiny 1 on Ps4 and Xb1
unless you want to take last gen into account, too and combine them
but that comparison would not make much sense, imho

edit:
Ps4/Xb1 installbase in the UK was 5.1 million early 2016. could be above 7 million at this point
physical attach rate is 2.5%
at 50% digital the attach rate is 5%
at 75% digital the attach rate is 10%

at the Destiny 1 launch Ps4/Xb1 installbase was below 2 million
physical attach rate was above 17.1%
at 10% digital the attach rate was above 19%

Here, I didn't meant the typical attach rates.
I meant, the drop off %age in active users for D2 after a month or so would likely be much less than what happened to D1 (I have no figures to mau's for D1 obviously).

D1 hype was Halo-bungie making a new game.
With D2, people know much more what they are getting into and probably a larger number would stick around for the end game content...%age wise.

ahh you talk about Player retention
that's the term you were looking for ;)

It's practically being given away with every console.

not exactly
there is a Forza Horizon 3 Bundle, yes
but Xbox One also has BF1, Halo Wars 2, Minecraft, Gears of War 4 and Fifa 17 packed in
plus there is also a plain 500GB SKU for Soft bundling

but it seems to be the main bundle and biggest volume seller right now. i agree

As someone who frequents hotukdeals.com, as it currently stands - whether it's the official bundle or a retailer specific add on, you'd be hard pressed to purchase an Xbox One and not receive a copy of Forza Horizon 3 unless you were intentionally trying not to.

Eeeyyyyy.

On hey, TLG did some decent numbers in Germany. That's cool.

Worth pointing out that Bruno said the following in this very thread...

Despite the low launch Knack 2 is still some tiers above other Sony titles like Puppeteer, Tearaway or Gravity Rush 2.

With decent legs it should match The Last Guardian, one of the biggest Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio titles.

Although this is edited and originally he wrote...

With decent legs it should match The Last Guardian, another +1 million worldwide title.

What?
Forza Horizon 3 sold over 200K in Germany?
Afaik this is the only Xbox One exclusive to manage that...

All the bundles finally paid off.
Unlike the UK, bundle copies are not counted in Germany.

500k+ (assuming way under 1 million) I suppose is fine for what TLG is, it was never going to set the world on fire despite the immense amount of hype it had on places like this, it was a decent game with limited appeal and these sales seem to reflect that, the what was it like 30% price cut it got worldwide in its 2/3rd month seems like a good idea in hindsight too.

You'll heard it here first... Destiny-Destiny 2 comparison.

Destiny PS4 25,200
Destiny PS3 6,700
Destiny XBO 6,300
Destiny X360 2,700

Much better showing from Destiny 2 compared to original than in UK or Japan (especially considering rising digital percentage)
