People are streaming "shows" via PS4 twitch..

I think the problem will arise when a minor is streaming these types of acts in front of unknown strangers. There is no protection to the minor from reading and listening to the comments. This could be a big problem.

Great point as well. There probably needs to be another layer of protection at the very least to broadcast and access streams.

I think parents can prevent viewing of live streams with the parental controls?

I think some people feel that parental controls are too "active" of a precaution for passive (I don't mean this term negatively) parents. Meaning, parents who may not be familiar with technology or the PS4.

So what people seem to want is an outright ban or some sort of passive precaution.

In other words, they want an "opt in" not an "opt out" solution.

This all will be solved if Ustream specifically is locked down for adults, 18 plus. Twitch reserved soley for gaming.

Whatever the material is, there are plenty of people doing adult related material on these streams, plenty of bongs + nudity, the vast majority wont care since their adults, but concern has to be given to random kids stumbling upon them. Only way to lock them down is adult verification either through the PSN account system or probably more securily through the Live from playstation app, specifically Ustream (since twitch are quite harsh on non game related media, apparently)

Woman in her bra & panties on a Twitch stream right now

edit: And she just showed titties

That's weird, I had just finished watching a show on Netflix with my brother, and I told him we should check out the Twitch app b/c someone was probably getting naked. He didn't believe me, but the first stream I opened was that one while she was shaking her tits and they fell out. It was crazy timing.

I can't tell if they just got banned or what though.

Pretty sad that the only time this topic is getting bumped is to talk about the newest stream to show titties. Why isn't this topic discussing the legit gaming "shows" since you know...this is a gaming forum?

I don't really understand the arguments against this. I dismiss the moralistic arguments out-of-hand. Otherwise, if you don't want to watch them, you don't have to. I think ability and option outweigh any potential for wrong-doing.

The girl just realized that the 1000 people watching means someone might have seen her show her new fake boobs. Classic.

And they've been banned. Apparently two flashes over 20 minutes will get you taken off Ustream.

I'm going to guess you're either a teenager or a very young adult. There is a time and place for everything. The PS4 is no place for porn. It's just not. Sheltering kids from porn isn't doing them a disservice, it's responsible parenting. You're out of your fucking mind if you think an 8 year old needs to have access to streams like this and that it wouldn't have potential to give them all kinds of unhealthy perceptions of sex and relationships.

PS4 is for gaming. You wouldn't argue that guns need to be sold at Toys R Us would you? We have gun shops for that and guns are not toys, just as porn is not part of gaming. At least not usually and if it is, ID's need to be checked at point of purchase and again, responsible parents will keep that shit out of their young kids' hands.

But hey, I'm just some irrational lunatic trying to take away your rights, aren't I? I couldn't possibly know what I'm talking g about so let's all hope that tomorrow the air hockey couple does a big old money shot right into the camera at 8am. I mean it's their Kaz-given right!

So many things right in this post.

Did you guys just see what I saw on PS4? Back to back couple streams tonight. One stream they let the couple finish for us before they banned them. LOL

And one of the guy's made me feel really...small. :(

Yeah full blown porn flick today including the happy ending. Greetings from Russia :O

Russians sure are packing.

Dude I'm watching a stream right now thats pretty inventive. Two streamers are watching each other and clowning on each others streams (neither are good). One guy is pulling out knives and guns to intimidate the other. This might get serious soon.

Well normal service has been resumed ladies and gentlemen!

Where...you made me think that stream was back on. It's not and I'm sad now. :( When is sony going to give us an 18+ and only channel?

I'm watching the "stream war" between the two guys that I just mentioned. It's funny but I hope no one gets hurt/makes bad decisions from it.

considering hes been pushed front and center of the last few months as some bastion for rules regulations and policies, its pretty humorous that Totalbiscuit spends the majority of his time on Twtich doing anything but gaming and has the audacity to charge subscription-only access just to watch it.

it doesnt matter if they're discussing games or not, its specifically in the TOS that you should be actually playing games, with one of the FAQ's specifically citing "talking with your viewers for a few minutes is okay, but you need to focus on actual gaming", i dont see how 3 hours of a podcast each week constitutes anywhere close to that TOS rule.

and hes hardly the only one circumventing that rule on twitch, but none of the other people who use twitch's bandwidth for free "show" broadcasting are trying to lead some crusade for "gamers rights" (which then go on their own sub-reddit and basically throw everyone else in the industry under the bus, including Polaris associates when actual issues arise)

Mega64 had their stream up an entire week with a "MARTIN LUTHER KING TRIBUTE" which was nothing but Christmas music being played while a picture of Paul Reiser was overlayed on the screen. That's all it was all week and Twitch was somehow okay with this.

well the charity or "good cause" streams are just as bad, like the entire 24 hour Tested stream which was literally a 24 hour radio show, but if you dare bring up rules with that, its cause you "hate children/cancer pations or a racist in regards to an MLK stream"

how ever all that occurred prior to the PS4 even coming out and there would have been no issue with them contiuning to be more than just "gaming content", but not when you then have this sudden selective TOS enforcement because a few people were breaking the rules using a new feature to taking down that entire feature(hiding it, in the streaming world is the same as essentially banning it entirely), and lets pat our self's on the back with a huge PR letter about our guidelines....except any twitch partners or other select cases where we look the other way...like when a guy is the top stream on the entire site but is openly interacting with DDOS'ers and not actually gaming at all and has his chat set to subs only which causes a bunch of people to pay to "get in on the fun of chatting"

oh thats fine cause we get a cut of that sub money and advertizement money...oh BUT WE HATE DDOS'ers grrr 20 second delay in chat cause we're really serious about stream integrity!
