Anyone?
I need to know if this issue is with all Vitas or just some.
The trigger seems fine to me. Is it in every game you play or just one in particular?

It's a new feature lol. You have to delete manually now.
It's not just you.Been away for a couple days, and this topic has exploded which I expected. But, I have a question for you folks...
Is it just me, or does the FEB system Case smell like some sort of rotting fish? WTF is up with that? Or is it just mine?
Is the Vita's screen glass like the iPhone or plastic like the original PSP?
Problem, Amazon.fr just sent me a 30 gift voucher for the Preorder box, its not part of my orginal order so I have to pay postage on it (25). There's nothing in the preorder box worth 25 right?
One thing that's annoying me is that WiFi is shut off when playing Uncharted (I knew about this) but it doesn't turn back on when I'm done with the game. I have to manually go into the settings and connect to my router.

The instruction manual says the screen is made of glass
What "use" do you have from Streetpass? I haven't found anything useful with it since I bought it at launch. Near locates people near you (and you can message those people), rates games, let's you see what your friends are playing,. I honestly don't see how you couldn't find it more useful than Streetpass.

Nope not really just a box with some headsets

+ it isn't exactly free for me neither :/[/QUOTE]
Wow can't believe they charged you 35c. well this 30 isn't much use to me, do you want it?
So to everyone who bought the first edition bundle... are you feeling any buyers remorse? I'm so close to buying one but I just have this feeling I shouldn't as I was pretty burned by the 3DS launch. Rayman Origins looks real fantastic though...

I don't carry my 3DS around anymore (the crappy standby battery life kills that idea) but when I do, it's when I am travelling. That means me passing through airports, with lots of people who you'd think would also be bringing their 3DS with them to kill time at the gate/on the plane.
I pretty much NEVER get any StreetPass hits, ever. I took two flights in the last couple of months, one on Christmas Eve, and again a few days after New Year's (so post-price drop). Absolutely no hits, and I was passing through LAX. The last time I got StreetPass hits was the LA NeoGAF meetup...
I think StreetPass is a borderline useless feature, at least for me. Near is better IMHO because you just have to pass through the same area, but not necessarily at the same time, and it doesn't rape your battery.
I really don't see a use for streetpass whasoever. You are right. I have gotten a lot of hits with mine during my commutes, but I almost get a "so what" feeling. Near at least is integrated with the games you play like being able to leave gifts and such.
Streetpass to me it seems just lets you "connect" with random people, but the activites you can do with the people you get hits from is very limited.
For example, when I was at E3, i got a shitload of hits (200 in total) but you couldn't really do much with those hits. Already completed the quest thing and the puzzle stuff is just crap.
Streepass is cool because of the fun little games attached to it. Its literally a dream come true for someone that loved collecting useless shit. I cant get enough of it because I NEED all the Mii hats and puzzle pieces.
Anyone playing hot shots or fifa add me! IMACOMPUTA

I really don't think it is.
How do you collect stuff ? You share/exchange items with other passing players ? Or the developers leave items in different locations for you to gather ?

Fair enough. Sorta surprised you didn't get hits at the airport. When I go out shopping and I get at least 2 or 3 hits on each trip. I'll admit I don't bring it with me as much, but even when it's in my backpack, I still get a hit every now and then. I was hooked to getting hits for the first 6 months. Near seems questionable to me since you have to hook up to a WiFi network to use it where as Street Pass was just on all the time and would get hits without any type of setup.
You share stuff with passing players. That's why Street Pass seems more useful to me than Near. It actually can affect games. Granted some are only mini games like Street Fighter where you battle your line of characters against someone else to rank up. But others like Ridge Racer you can share ghost data to race against. It's just neat to get hits and see what surprise you get to play.
Rayman has been funky for me with shoulder buttons (needed to run). Like you, i would have to hold down a tad harder just to ensure he never stopped

You trade data with someone you pass by. You can then use that to collect a puzzle piece if they have a piece you don't have. There's also Find Mii which is a mini-RPG where you use the people you come across from Streetpass to fight through monsters and save your own Mii.
I am in a state of euphoria atm. Umvc3, fifa, lumines and rayman play like a dream on this thing. I cant think of a better launch at the moment in my 28 years of gaming.

It's way stronger than gorilla glass.. I dont believe it either. Have you seen the video of the guy hitting the Vita with a sledge hammer? Took about 4 hits before it cracked. After it did, he tried extremely hard to shatter it and bend it in half...

Good lord no. I absolutely love the system. It provides an excitement I haven't felt since the current generation consoles first launched (and the lineup is even better than those). So to everyone who bought the first edition bundle... are you feeling any buyers remorse? I've already gotten more out of Near in one night compared to almost a year of Street Pass. You don't need to know anyone with a 3DS which is the nice thing about it. Just throw it in your bag or backpack and have it on you. You'd be amazed at how often you get hits just randomly. It's kinda neat and I was taking my 3DS everywhere with me to get hits to play some of the built in games that use the Street Pass.
I was hoping the Vita would have something like Street Pass, and I thought Near was it, but the recent posts here make me think otherwise. Street Pass so far sounds more useful than Near, but I'll have to check out Near when I get it.
Whered the whole "Its plastic!" thing originate from then? Something like this should be easy to find out.
Not true. Near can be set to autoupdate every hour, even on a Wifi Vita (like my JP Vita) it basically scans all the nearby wifi networks and stores them, even if it can't make a network connection. Then, at the end of the day, it connects once to the near server, geolocates the stored wifi data, and then presents you with the results.
Near does this as well, you can upload a "gift" so that people playing the same game can receive your gift. For example, I uploaded a skin unlock for Lumines for anyone nearby. I've seen game gifts for Katamari and Modnation Racers as well.
I see. the cool part is the mini-games then. It's a pity Sony did not improve/revamp Home to include Vita. The StreetPass mini-games you mentioned are indeed very creative !
My hp touchpad charger gives enough power. My iPad and IPhone wall chargers don't give enough power to charge this bad boy. Any 3rd party wall warts I could pick up that are cheaper than the absurd Vita ac adapter?
Also, totally ebaying my FEB case so I can pick up one of those VIP cases if (when?) they come stateside. How much do you think that FEB case is worth?

So is there any way to get demos from the Japanese store without losing my American demos? I want to have them all and not wipe my memory card.. any way to do this?
We really need to get some people logging into the Hot Shots Golf servers...every lobby is completely empty!

It's an amazing piece of hardware.
I too felt burned by the 3DS after buying it at launch (poor lineup + bleh hardware + price drop), but I don't feel that way with the Vita.

I've tried what you said and I rarely get anything out of it. Plus, the 3DS dies extremely quickly in sleep mode if you keep the WiFi antenna enabled (the Vita has already lasted much longer in sleep mode by comparison).
