Everything in the update just seems 'okay'. Some decent QOL improvements but I expected more out of this since it's being called 5.00.

I noticed that too. Figured it was copying to the external storage and
just never noticed it before.
Maybe is a replace of the check at the start of a download?

All my games are up to date so I can't check. Spotted it on the No Man's Sky update earlier but didn't see it start downloading.
After the end of a patch download instead of installing it say copy with the percentage of progression. Never happened before this update.

There's very little outwardly new here.
If it didn't say 5.00 Beta 3 in the top right corner when you're in the PS4 OS you wouldn't even know.
It's a very underwhelming update.

Got it downloaded and installed and stuff and...yep, it is what it is. Seeing my downloads in the quick menu is fairly novel but there isn't much else. Mah.

Like, the option should have always been there once they introduced the white pop ups, but whatever, I'll take it. Oh and higher quality twitch streaming is actually nice.
I think that's all I really care about in this update! Seems underwhelming for a 5.00 release but maybe we're just expecting too much.
I think Donald Trump leaving office is more likely than online ID change at this point.

Lame improvements. I just hope they fix the fucking HDMI monitor wakeup problems that started some 2-3 firmware updates ago.

how does twitch streaming compare to youtube in terms of bitrate? not really impressed by the quality on the youtube side but it could be my upload speed fluctuating although i thought i was above what was required. currently on a 100/10 connection

I have a similar issue with my panny TV. I will report if the BETA fixes it or not. The UI seams a little snappier in pro so far.

In the past, I've noticed the USA beta firmware invites tend to go out in the mid to late afternoon Eastern time.
Didn't even thought of that, I hope that's the case.
