Zone's job is probably as safe as anyone at Lab Zero, which is to say not very.

I'm pretty indifferent on the whole situation (because I mean come on) but the fallout has been incredibly entertaining.
In my honest opinion, I think artists have the right to creative freedom, and what these people need to learn is that applies to both removing things as well as adding them. If by their own free will a developer wants to cover up some cheesecake shots, I ain't gonna stop them.
Besides, nobody really cares about characters getting changed in balance patches and whatnot, (or at least, not to the level of some kind of scandal) so the real intentions here are kinda obvious.
Literally every artist who has ever existed has probably drawn porn at some point in their life. It's not really the same situation unless the next DLC character is Kuromaru. (Oh boy is that an obscure reference I haven't used in a while.)

The removal of the splits gets to me more. I really liked the Kinniku Buster reference and the splits really put a nice emphasis on the whole thing. Now it is like a pile driver.
It is also weird since they gave Zangief the Kinniku Driver to put in more Kinnikuman references.

Of course no one knows for sure, but considering how prominently they advertised it, it's hard to believe that they didn't do this because of peoples' reactions
Well, there is a thing called self-censorship, which can and is often done during the development or creation process. I find the distinction to be the intent of such an edit.
Censorship, unlike what some people on this forum suggest, is not a term specific to any governmental authority or subjugating force that enacts their will on another party. It's not a dirty word. It's just something that happens, naturally. But people can call it editing, if that makes it sound better to them.
