Renegade Ops is an upcoming top-down vehicle-based shooter for Steam, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Avalanche Studios announced the game on March 30, 2011

RENEGADE OPS puts players in a mobile commando unit sent behind enemy lines to defeat Inferno, a madman intent on global domination. Defeat enemies across a range of stunning environments using a wide variety of vehicles, from tanks armed to the teeth to fully loaded helicopters.

Players have the choice to fight alone in single player mode, team up offline with two-player split screen or join the dynamic 4-player online co-op experience. Blast your way through enemy lines by working together, or compete for achievements as you and your friends aim to top the online leader boards. Unleash your full arsenal of weapons and destroy anything that stands in your path as you battle to protect the free world in any way possible.

Madman Inferno, the commander of a sinister terrorist organisation, has detonated a devastating bomb to demonstrate the power of his new deadly weapon. Furious at the world’s leaders decision not to fight against Inferno, General Bryant has recruited a crack team of military specialists, known as the RENEGADE OPS, from around the globe to wage war against Inferno’s promise of world domination.

Reviews pending...

I'll be coming back to this thread updating as new info comes out. I made it a bit rough since there's a chance the game wont meet its supposed release. Again, release is September 13 on PSN according to some sites, but the steam page still says only "September 2011", so we cant know for sure..

How excited?

I pre-ordered the game via PSN when I still had PSN+.

Now my PSN+ has expired. Am I fucked?
Nope. Only the free games you get from PSN+ stop working after your sub expires.

By the way Steam has a ridiculous fourpack going on for $30, basically $7.5 per game. Fuckin bonkers, jump on it.

As I said in that other thread, Green Man Gaming says the PC version is out on 23 September.

well, we are where we began basically. All we know is PSN is coming 13/14, so at least we'll be getting some reviews/impressions soon

That said, pumped for this game since I saw the tiny tiny quick look.

Market logic dictates that they will delay the game as much as possible, trying to ride the water behind September releases, but getting out before the October madness. My money would be on September 20th.

Probably gonna get it for PS3. Online community is shit for games like this on PC. Like really bad.

edit: oh damn but it's so much cheaper on steam....hmmm

If you like playing with strangers, sure. The cheap as hell 4-pack ensures that I'll have friends to play the game with on PC, and that's good enough for me.

Another of the games that looks close to what I imagined all games would be like in the distant future back in 8 bit days (the other being BloodRayne)

Ah, totally forgot about this game. I remember the Quick Look looking real good. Also, I fucking love Jungle Strike! This game reminds me of exactly that game. I wonder if maybe I should go with the Steam version instead of the 360 version this time...

Wow this is coming out already?

Now to decide on Steam or PSN. That 4 pack deal is tempting.

EDIT: Nice OT btw :)

if you go on 4 pack message me, I'll be down for it (and hopefully y'all will be willing to play online soon)

Tbh I'm kind of bummed this is in vehicles only. Choppers - awesome but jeeps, buggies - meh.

If this was on foot it'll be like next gen Commando, Ikari Warriors, Mercenaries, Shock Troopers.

I'm bit more sold on Gatling Gears.

This one is going to be damn good. I have it pre-ordered on Steam and may pick it up on PSN. I hope there's a demo on PSN so I can check it out before it hits PC.

This game is basically a tribute to the Strike Series. On-foot gameplay would be heresy.

Shit ain't isometric.

Isn't meat of the game the ground vehicles? Choppers seem like a bonus.

I'm thinking SWIV / Silkworm myself.

Pre-ordered at GMG at $10 just for the co-op, because co-op makes everything better.
