Remember, this game also has Wreck it Ralph and Danica Patrick...Why? That is, what on earth does this have to do with Sega?
Yup. And I love it.So it really has become Sonic's All Star PC only Racing Transformed....
T___T
Remember, this game also has Wreck it Ralph and Danica Patrick
Except they're ugly looking cross promotion synergy that make the art style of the game even more schizophrenic than it already is rather being a one-off nod to another game from the same developer rendered in a common style. And they're about a third of the roster at this point. Otherwise, yeah, exactly the same. I understand the reason they've been inserted, I just don't think they work. I would settle for just being able to turn them off in the single player modes so that my reminiscence of happier days with Sega isn't interrupted by Danica Patrick, the Heavy, Japanese Stereotype, Russian Stereotype, Football Manager, and Random Fat Guy from Podcast.
...Why? That is, what on earth does this have to do with Sega?
And all these shitty PC "characters" are like oil and water next to Ulala and Beat and the rest of the vintage characters.
yeah i'm sure sega forced sumo to take the time and money to create dlc that's being sold entirely for charity, that's totally a sound business decisionThe insane men in suits at Sega forced Sumo to make a tie-in for this:
https://www.humblebundle.com/yogscast
Come to think of it, was there ever a reason given for Danica's inclusion? (I don't mind it, just curious)
Come to think of it, was there ever a reason given for Danica's inclusion? (I don't mind it, just curious)
Nah, that's alright. Without the new PC-centric characters the lineup would be dull and full of characters nobody gives a shit about, such as Vyse and Ulala. The lineup is absurd and fantastic, hence why most people are fine with it.
The YouTube guy is PC exclusive?
Console version superior confirmed.

Unless there really was some evil plan to screw console/handheld owners over from the beginning, the truth is that it probably is not worth the time and money to push updates and DLC out onto 5 platforms that don't make it easy for Sumo/Sega. If there was a sizeable player base that they felt would buy paid DLC, you can bet your ass every version of the game would be seeing updates and new characters.
I think the fact that Sega didn't bother to release promotional characters for their own games on consoles speaks volumes.
However, we shouldn't forget that Ryo isn't actually confirmed for PC only at this point.
Best kart racer game this gen!
I'm unable to see how this Yogcast DLC "sacrifices" any vision in Racing Transformed. It's a charitable move and the style of his racer isn't too far from the rest of the cast.
Or are people upset that the consoles aren't getting any more DLC?
Yup. And I love it.

Believe it or not, this actually is the case. Well, except for the charity (and thus, paid DLC) bit; that's the compromise Sumo forced on Sega in turn when they came to a head, as even they were perplexed by the decision.yeah i'm sure sega forced sumo to take the time and money to create dlc that's being sold entirely for charity, that's totally a sound business decision
ignore the part where it actually does sound like a business decision sega would consider viable
The first game in the series is called
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing With Banjo-Kazooie
I can't step back and see how this is lame for people. The game already is filled to the brim with classic Sega franchises with several more characters on the way to appease Sega diehard fans (plz Ristar.)The concept of a Sega All Star was basically corrupted very early, what with the marketing characters introduced. Wreck it Ralph wasn't even an All-Star; his original piece of media hadn't been released yet.
I think it's quite insidious when people can be comfortable saying things like this:
and can't take a step back and see how lame this is for lots of people. Enjoy your Ryo and PC characters by all means, since they're already there. Or will be. But endorsing leaving people behind, geez.
Nah, that's alright. Without the new PC-centric characters the lineup would be dull and full of characters nobody gives a shit about, such as Vyse and Ulala. The lineup is absurd and fantastic, hence why most people are fine with it.
What people seem to want is an "untouched" Sega museum which less people will be inclined to actually want to visit. They appeal to more people and maybe those newcomers will want to know about Alex Kidd or Phantasy Star.
Bit of bad(?) news, looks like he's not driving a forklift on land. He's driving an OutRun Arcade cabinet. lol
i don't actually take any particular issue with sega suggesting this co-marketing or whateverBelieve it or not, this actually is the case. This bullshit is sarcasm right? I had a shitty day and am too tired to have a functioning radar.
Just to be clear
The first game in the series is called
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
The second game in the series is called:
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
They dialed back the sega nostalgia stuff by design.

And while I understand the console brethren being upset at the lack of post-release support, at least the game itself is getting some love on some level. What I don't understand is making the game seem like its "values" were "corrupted." The console games still have all of the classic characters released so far. And yes, I for one, am grateful that I grabbed the PC version over the Wii U version.
I'm sorry, but this whole "Bu-but Fighters Megamix had a car and a palm tree and a polar bear" thing as if it's the exact same situation as this game is getting on my nerves. The ridiculous PC characters = the car in Fighters Megamix. It's totally in the spirit of Old Sega.

The inclusion of PC stuff is obviously influenced by Sega's higher-ups rather than the developers running out of shit to throw in there but Sumo took something that could have been awful and made it a lot of fun. You guys sound needlessly bitter about something that's so cheerfully goofy.
It's Zia... so likely not. This bullshit is sarcasm right? I had a shitty day and am too tired to have a functioning radar.
Would not mind Spiral Knights. They are owned by Sega, aren't they? Not to mention they have a Sega crossover promotion before which justifies their inclusion.I kind of want them to add Spiral Knights characters next. Or maybe holla at Games Workshop and get some Orks in there.
Yes definitely the higher ups who nefariously thought that their best selling franchises in the past 5 years maybe deserved a spot over that best selling game a decade ago.... such nefarious jerks
I think they should add some new tracks instead of new characters.
I have a suggestion that will make PC and console gamers alike happy.

All this Sonic & Sega All-Stars talk has got me thinking that they should expand this brand past just kart racers. What about a Smash Bros type game?
I just found this example someone did up on deviant art.

Would play!

No one gets salty except the few who still can't get over the fact that the Dreamcast failed ten years ago; adding characters that weren't made in Japan two or three console generations ago is not a fucking personal insult. While you could argue the same with the silly PC characters, due to them probably being easier to license or marketing related reasons, there are still many glaring oversights with the roster (which probably wouldn't be fulfilled even if the game had like, 50 characters considering how far back Sega goes) so filling in those holes with cross-promotional characters like TF2, internet celebrity nerd guy, a NASCAR racer, and one of the Total War developers cosplaying a roman general, people are probably gonna get salty, considering they're now almost damn near half of the roster at this point.
It's not bullshit, it's fact.
Man, people seem particularly out of touch in regards to Sega's handling of this game. "Why aren't they releasing the same content for a stagnating player base on consoles as they are for the open platform of PC, on which SASRT is an evergreen title, and why are they releasing free cross-promotional DLC instead of obscure characters for the hardcore fan base?" Like, really?
