September Wrasslin |OT| Team WWF vs. The World

how come everyone is able to lift the steel steps so easily but Cena sells it like its a ton?

Well lemme tell you something about that hapless little

i didnt say lets bash Cena for the rest of the page.

Dagnabbit!

Well, Cena just puts everything he's got into everything he does. Every single thing he does takes tons of effort on his part - everything except undercutting others, that's effortless for him.

Speaking of Attitude Era:

What is your favorite WWE segment from the Attitude Era, and why did you like it so much?

I haven't watched much of the Attitude Era, so forgive me if my pick took place after it. But my favorite bit was the segment where Austin tracks Booker T into a supermarket and just trashes the place. I'd count the parts before that too, since they lead into the supermarket stuff and they're funny too; Vince tries to downplay a fire as just a little accident, and then, "rattlesnake alert, rattlesnake alert!" Classic stuff.

I also thought that Goldust and Booker T's team-up was brilliant. I guffawed at some of the skits. GUFFAWED. I rarely laugh in such a manner.

The only thing Kurt Angle did in WWE that made me shake my head was when they had him feuding with Booker T because he wanted to have "crazy, jungle sex" with Sharmell. Wasn't his fault however.

Yeah, that was painful to watch. Again, not his fault. Angle was stellar when he worked for the WWE; he was so hate-able, and he made every match he was in worth watching.

I never promised WWE production values here. I'll leave that to the NFL thread.

That is why I'm going to the Wrassle Ka Gaf thread. I gots to have those production values! I gots to!

Favorite Attitude Era segment?

Picking a promo and not a match... I probably laughed the hardest at DX impersonating and mocking the Nation of Domination.

Hey Mizark Henry, how you get yo pecs to all the way round yo back like dat?

So not worth it
So, WrassleGAF, with all that happened with this Lawler business, do we think Cole can ever be a Heel again?

Found WCCW International Star Wars on 6/17/83 - when looking for...something else.

Whole thing. Amazing crowd, amazing heat, if you have an hour and a half and want to watch a real golden age with WCCW I highly recommend watching this. Amazing stuff.

Honestly I don't expect anyone to watch it, but if you do, it's worth it.

Bill Irwin, Fishman, & Mongol vs Chavo Guerrero, Chris Adams, & Jose Lothario
David Von Erich vs Jimmy Garvin
Iceman King Parsons vs Buddy Roberts
Kamala vs Armand Hussein, Tola Yatsu, & Mike Bond
Harley Race vs Kevin Von Erich
Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy vs Kerry Von Erich & Bruiser Brody

This is when Kamala was TERRIFYING. Harley Race was crushin' and Bruiser Brody was amazing. So much good.

Yeah, just give them a while to get this whole "Jerry Lawler survived a heart attack" stuff out of the air and Cole will end up switching to a Heel again.

The October Wrasslin thread will go live Sunday at high noon Eastern Standard Time.....if I'm not hung over from the night before that is.

Since we're nowhere near 20k this month, feel free to post in this thread till Monday or use the new one when it goes up.

I have a topic in mind, but I am open to suggestions.....

One of the most underrated things of the entire Attitude Era was just how insane everything involving Val Venis was.

Almost immediately, he was involved in an angle with the Kaientai stable, involving him having an affair with Yamaguchi-San's kayfabe wife, Shian-Li Tsang. As a result, the members of Kaientai had a series of unsuccessful matches against him.

n the August 3 edition of Raw is War, his tag team partner Taka Michinoku would eventually betray him, which led to him and Kaientai tying Venis up backstage where Yamaguchi-San attempted to castrate him with a sword. The next week, however, he reported that he was saved by "a little shrinkage" and help from his friend, John Wayne Bobbitt.

Venis got involved in a storyline where he slept with other people's wives. He started a feud with Dustin Runnels, on the September 14 edition of Raw is War when Venis showed Runnels his new porn movie, featuring Venis in bed with Dustin's wife, Terri Runnels. She then became his on-screen girlfriend. This culminated in a match at Breakdown: In Your House, which Venis won.The two faced each other again at Capital Carnage, and Val went on to win the match, to end the feud. When Terri said she was pregnant, Val dumped her.

On the February 1, 1999 edition of Raw is War, he started a feud with Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock after Venis made a film starring him and Shamrock's kayfabe sister Ryan called Shaving Ryan's Privates.

Won't miss Kelly² and her seemingly non-responsive face. At least it opens up a spot for Paige or Audrey (...or anyone witht a bit more talent really).

He was in a lot of insane shit. Who'd have thought his gimmick would take him so far?

Why did he start calling himself "The Big Valblowski", without changing a single thing about his character or acting in any way like The Dude?

It is sounded cool.

I was so oblivious to all the sexual references as well. No idea what a Money Shot was other than just the name of this finisher.

What if Cena goes into porn when he retires from E'?

I doubt Cena is big enough for porn. He definitely strikes me as an overcompensating type.

Also, I was thinking about changing my avatar to Eve but then non wrassle gaf will pm me with questions, and that's weird.

I recall John Cena as being able to handsomely fill out a bananahammock.

There's a sentence I'd hoped to never have to say again.

Kelly Kelly is exactly like my friend Whitney.

Except Whitney eats and drinks her feelings and put on a good 35 after sophomore year.

So tragic.
