I'd prefer Nintendo dig up some more obscure series from the Famicom/SFC eras for characters, or stuff that is so completely off-the-wall and plays so differently than you're accustomed to that you would never expect (G&W in Melee, for instance)

Mike Jones would have been the perfect new character for Brawl. He has a number of things to use as a moveset, it is a forgotten Nintendo series that had an amazing first game and a mediocer second game, and the series is due for a revival on the DS or Wii and this would be a great way to kick it off.

The only major problem was that StarTropics wasnt released in other areas and that includes Japan, so Sakurai might not even know of the game.

Outside of Mike Jones, I think the other character that would have been perfect as a playable character would have been Little Mac. It is a shame he was stuck as an AT, but atleast it is a fully modeled cool looking version of the original and not a abortion like the EA rendition.

The only character request I cant really understand is Ridley. I dont know if its because people want more Metroid characters, but Ridley would have been a lame playable character and hopefully he will be a boss or something. The Metroid game have always been about solitude and having Samus on her own in the game is perfect (now they even her her without her suit, so it is almost two characters, but not really).

First of all, Jigglypuff = useless, it's only a Kirby clone without a copy ability. Lucario is horrible considering they could have put in Blaziken or some other Pokemon instead. It seems like they're putting it in just because it's "newer." It would have been better if they deleted the Pokemon trainer in favor of individual Pokemon, e.g. Pikachu. Wouldn't be surprised if they included those returning characters, but Fox, Wolf, Falco, and ROB from the same series? They're way overrepresented.

No, and certainly not at all. I'd dig up my post where I list out every attack they have and how much they differ--and even that would still be ignoring their very different floatiness, where Kirby flies like a lead weight straight out of NES Castlevania while Jigglypuff flies like a perfect butterfly--but I'm not exactly sure I can figure out how to search for it.

I do find this ROB stuff strange. With NES ROB already appearing as a non-playable enemy in SSE, he'd have to be reworked to be playable looking at him, he doesn't lend himself to the idea of being playable.

And yet... ROB 64 would be a damn strange choice for another Star Fox character. If you were sane and asked to choose 3, it would be Fox, Falco and Wolf... but a fourth? I wouldn't pick ROB. I'd pick Leon to balance out the Star Fox/Star Wolf vs aspect, or pick another member of the actual Star Fox team - like Slippy, but instead of specialising in up close fighting acting like Snake does with grenades etc just with technology he designed.

Either way, I think the inclusion of yet another SF character is proof Nintendo still sees it as a major franchise, and hopefully a Wiivival is on the way for the series.

Have you even played Melee? Jigglypuff is one of the best characters in that game, Kirby is one of the worst. They are very, very different. They have no moves that are remotely similar.

Chaos Zero is saying its fake from his own personal opinions. Nyase is the one who makes me believe 35 is the right number. I don't think those two can be doubted even a bit. The new leakers don't think that they can be doubted either, and thats why they are copying em.

He hasn't said anything controversial yet though. He is repeating what previous prophets have said. He isn't risking much at all. What are the chances that Nyase and Chaos Zero are wrong, really? They predicted everything PERFECTLY so far, copying what they said proves no real danger.

I think Reno made a fatal error when copying ShadowXOR as well though. Shadow isn't very reputable and hasn't proven himself. Shadow probably made up the ROB info completely. The only reason Shadow isn't officially debunked yet is that it is hard to deconfirm an obscure character like ROB.

Why would Reno (or his lying source) do it? I dunno, a lot of people just like fucking with fanboys. Go to smashboards and you will see a list of how many fake prophets have been debunked by now. Nearly all of them copied some info from Nyase and Chaos Zero and added something extra to cause controversy.

How do we even know this? Sakurai said he's not too bothered about concealing hidden characters, and much of the announced characters will probably be unlocks anyway.

Hell, I always said an awesome idea would be to make everyone but Mario an unlock so you start with the Nintendo original and then gradually get everybody else - or just start with Mario, Link, Pikachu and Kirby as the Smash mainers.

Not really. 2/3 of the roster was starting in SSB64. Melee only had so many unlockables because half of them were clones.
