well apparently now Sony Santa Monica is in need of third person shooter experienced devs.

isn't GoW4 still just a guess? and attached to their post about needing someone with MP experience?

I think they're making 2 games at the moment.

What! really?
watched Santa Monica documentary of making of GoW2 and the team seemed tressed just making one game, I can't imagine them making 2 games. I am guessing the team has grown in huge numbers since GoW2.

I find it depressing there is only one 1st party Sony game made specifically for move...

E3 could have announcements, potential developers for more Move games
San Diego and Zindagi could be making Sports Champions 2 (in fact Zindagi are rumored to be making another Move game)
Sony Japan studios can also make Move games
London Studio could make more Move games
ColdWood Interactive - made The Fight for Move
Supermassive Games - made Tumble and Start the Party
Cohort Studios - helps make Buzz Jr and made The Shoot for Move

wwwwWHAT? Holy crap, did I miss something?!?!?!?

Is this the City of Metronome that's been trying to find a publisher for like 3 years? :O

Six years. Also, it seems unlikely that Tarsier is working on Metronome at this point.

without mentioning 3rd parties you miss important 3rd parties like Sucker Punch, GameFreak, insomniac, Quantic Dreams, Ruffian and Remedy. Listing 3rd paries is OK as long as the game was published by Nintendo, MS or Sony.

well the GoW rumor came from a guy who listed he was working on GoW4, also in Bonus round Santa Monica guy said something about not bothering on Multiplayer for their next game. Maybe they are making 2 games or GoW takes place in modern day lol.

actually with Wii 2 coming I am hoping we get some 3rd party multiplatform games from developers such as Red Steel 3 for PS3/Wii 2. Red Steel 2 had great motion controls it's just the game itself could have been better, I am hoping Ubisoft continue with the series but this time work on making the game itself better, the controls were fantastic.

your list has more speculation and less information. release dates are important. it's easier to guess which studios might have something in the pipeline or how soon we might expect something.

also, the main problem i have with your third party list are the amount of companies that are just for the moment creating games exclusively for a console. insomniac stated they will go third party; terminal reality has made several multiplatform games in the last five years; camelot has made games for only nintendo since they stopped making hot shots and shining force, but they dabbled in pc gaming a few years ago; grasshopper's made games for basically everyone over the last five years... the list goes on.

i'd shorten it to studios who have supported only one platform-maker from the start, or only one platform-maker only for the last ten years.

Well I think it is important to know that MS, Sony, Nintendo are funding developers to make exclusive games, it is just as important. For example Sony count on many 3rd partys to make franchises for them such as the NGP games like Resistance and Hotshots Golf. Nintendo counting on Gamefreak to make Pokemon, Monster Games to make Pilot Wings and etc. These publishers funding projects is just as important.

As long as there is no random 3rd partys that are listed which are not published by Sony, MS or Nintendo then it is ok to list them, I am not listing random exclusives like Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

speculation are fun, also, I have no problem with the list mentioning 3rd party who have dev-publisher relationship. if they've worked together for their last project, there are good chance that they may work again for their next game.

Yakuza series are all Sony exclusive, but it doesn't belong in this thread. Sucker Punch, Insomniac, and Quantic Dream all belong in this thread.

Sony's E3 this year should be jam packed, probably worth the watch. Hopefully we'll finally get a glimpse of "Starhawk". I'm hoping SSM is actually working on a project for the PS4, along with Polyphony and Zipper. Same goes for ND once U3 launches, and I hope they don't get burnt out on Uncharted, and make a "Next-gen Uncharted", one can only dream.

It'll be interesting to see what MS has going for them. Last E3 from them was of massive disappointment. If they don't have much to show, I hope they buff their first-party stables in between now and "next-gen".

I'm sure there's enough big titles to hold over both users machines from now until 2013 (plz 2012 lol) "next-gen" launches.

Can't wait to see Insomniac's other projects as well. Would love to see what they come up with, hopefully something fresh like a Dungeon crawler or Zelda-esque type game, I think they'd do something killer in those genres.

I wouldn't bet on it, Sony usually spread there announcements out,, last year they announced most of there shit a month before E3 and the only surprise was Twisted Metal and Sorcery. Then they saved Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 for VGA when MS and Nintendo didn't save anything for VGA. I expect Gurilla and Qunatic Dreams to reveal there shit for Gamescom. Some games like Starhawk could get announced before E3. For E3 I am expecting to definitely see tons of shit on NGP and GoW4 for PS3.

I posted on KR, that Wii Relax was linked to Sakamoto's development team at Nintendo. Don't know if the game will see the light of day on Stream or not. But this could have been a big game for Sakamoto and his small development team who always gets overshadowed by all the producers working under Miyamoto. Tomodachi Collection, Rhythm Tengoku, and Wii Relax would have been a nice trump card indeed.

But yeah. SPD Production Group No.1 is my favorite Nintendo team with EAD Tokyo teams. Aonuma is right alongside them too.

I would really like to see Hennig and Naughty Dog deliver Uncharted 3 and then start something else. Something more serious from Hennig!

even if some games like starhawk got announced before E3, we will still see new trailer or gameplay demo to be excited about for E3. and this year E3 is exciting because Sony will have hardware NGP shown along with games.

so, couple surprises for NGP spec or feature. some reel of new unnanounced NGP games by 1st and 3rd party. 1 or 2 gameplay demo for PS3 game (probably Uncharted 3), and maybe some teaser for SCEA's new game (maybe Santa Monica game)

it'll be a good E3 for Sony (unless NGP cost $500 or something)

Don't know if Workshop is 3rd party, I am confused because some site list Sorcery as being made by SCEA.

As for some 3rd party's being in the list, I just put the 3rd party's that have had on going relationships with the publishers. Maybe should't have listed Codename Kingdoms as Crytek haven't had a long term relationship with MS and also many of those Kinect games.

As somebody mentioned, SCEA is publishing but I think some of the confusion might come from tech help. I thought I read/heard an interview about The Workshop getting help from Sony Santa Monica. This would be no different than thatgamecompany and Flower, which listed what seems like the whole Sony Santa Monica studio in the end credits. SSM might have a smaller subteam that works on helping smaller external studios, so they get credited on a lot of games.

Yep it will be a good E3 for Sony, I am just saying, many folks god mad about Sony's conference last year, because Sony revealed inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, MotorStorm Apocalypse and Killzone 3 before E3, people got mad because there was no surprises except for Twisted Metal and Sorcery. But if Sony just saved those announcements for E3 the conference would have been better (as well as anouncing Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 at E3). But for me personally I don't care when games get announced as long games get announced at some points, but unfortunately many folks use E3 to decide which company is getting most games.

said this in the e3 thread the other day, but damn does Microsoft's 1st party and 3rd party titles look anemic. Either they have a lot of unannounced stuff, they have started moving development to the next gen (highly doubt) or they are going to announce a slew of exclusive games or acquisitions.

They just closed.

that doesn't show what each platform maker is working on. MS has limited internal studios. Most of Nintendo's studios are in Japan. SCE has just as many internal studios as published 3rd party developed games.
Removing games from independent developers but published by platform makers removes a huge section of each of their portfolio. I see this thread as what is nintendo/ms/sce doing on the platform? that is internal develop and published external developed.

Japan studios is doing that Tokyo Disaster game aswell, I beleive.
The ones where you can be a chihuahua fighting a T-Rex dinosaur. :)

And Stewart Gilray from Just Add Water just mentioned in PlaystationNation-podcast interview that Oddbox (All four Oddworld games) is coming to PSN aswell, for 20$ - pricematching Steam/PC version.

What is Next Level Games up to? The Mario Strikers games were great and Punch-Out was one of the best games of the generation so far.

The last game it released was Transformers: Cybertron Adventures in 2010. Now it is working on Capt. America: Super Soldier for a release in July 2011. Another Punch-Out!! game would be excellent! I think that would be amazing to have on the 3DS.

Sony:

I like God of War and Team Ico's IPs and that's about it. With that said, I have to give credit to Sony for being a big supporter of original IPs.

Microsoft:

Honestly, the first-party support is just underwhelming to me and the second-party support is just as dull . There's really just Halo and Fable along with second-party franchise, Gears of War. Too bad I don't care for any of them. Rare has yet to offer anything interesting.Maybe it could try making Killer Instinct without screwing it up.

Nintendo:

I like all of Nintendo's first and second-party franchises except for Fire Emblem , Animal Crossing, Warioware, Brain Age, Nintendogs+Cats, Mario & DK, Pokemon (great series but just lost interest after Diamond), Pokemon spin-off series as well as Mario Sports and Party. It's a shame that Nintendo lacks original IPs but at least it helps make up for them with extension IPs. However, The Last Story, XenoBlade, and Pandora's Tower have caught my interest... they just better come out in North America!

Worth mentioning the rumour that Q games (headed up by Dylan cuthbert, creator of star fox) is the company remaking star fox for 3DS. That seems plausible.

Sigh... Tarsier is not working on The City of Metronome, people. Right after the deal with Sony was announced, they said the game in question was not Metronome.

Which is great, as far as I'm concerned. While the setting and the basic idea of using sounds for solving puzzles are still interesting, what they've shown of the actual gameplay looked pretty wonky.

updated OP

I just wish Sony Japan studios improved, before we got games like Legend of Dragoon, Wild Arms, Locoroco, Ape Escape, Patapon and Echocrome. Hopefully the new NGP titles like Gravity Daze and Broken are good.

Level 5 use to also be a good partner for Sony making games like Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy and Jeane d'Ark. Though they are making Ninokuni for PS3 and Ushiro for PSP and White Knight 2 is coming out for PS3/PSP soon. But they are also making exclusives for Nintendo handheld consoles like DS and 3DS.
Ushiro was canceled and Level 5 had nothing to do with WKC PSP. They do have a different PSP game in development though (Danboard Senki), at least one Wii game (Inazuma Eleven Strikers) and they're also on the list of NGP licensed developers.

does anyone know what MGS vancouver are upto? Didnt even know they existed, saw the site while googling the other day

http://www.microsoft-careers.com/go/MGS-Vancouver/277328/

apparently they are dedicated to making games for "core" gamer

I heard they were building a big studio in Canada, but that was, what... A couple of years ago? Good to see that it's coming along.

From their Facebook page it appears they are called Zipline Studios?

Oh, I expect them to reveal this...it seems very likely they have been holding it back because of LA Noire, and rightly so. LA Noire was a complete unknown quantity to about a couple of months ago. It certainly doesnt need another Rockstar game stealing its hype

That is just an exclusive, but not published by Sony. The list is for games developed by first parties or published by first parties.

It's also now being developed by Rockstar San Diego from what I understand.

There is a lot of confusion in these lists between 1st party, 3rd party and a third category "manufacturer published externally developed games" (don't think this is always necessarily 2nd party).

3rd party means there is a 3rd party publisher, like EA who is working with the console manufacturer to get it put on the platform.

XBLA/PSN have made the third category above more popular, because it's easy for Sony or MS to drop a wad of cash on a small indie developer and get a downloadable exclusive game. Sometimes that is happening for retail games too. Those are also almost always console platform exclusives, although it seems often PC or mobile releases are allowed.

The process is usually that the publisher approves a game and gives the developer some money, and continues to give them money at certain checkpoints until it's done or until they don't think it will work out any more and the game is axed. For certain indie games, it's -probably more like "here's a small wad of cash, sign this line here that agrees to stay exclusive... and have fun finishing the game, see you in 9 months!".

The dream of some indie devs is for either Sony or MS to moneyhat the heck out of them for a downloadable game, but unfortunately flooding the market with games at the end of a console lifecycle is not going to work out very well for anyone involved. I think if I were an indie dev I would be targeting a mix of platforms, hedging bets and trying to find a niche/fanbase to exploit. Or diving headfirst into something like Kinect or Move and doing it better than anyone else.

Zipline is in Vancouver, Soho is in London. Different studios.

Dunno where MGS Family is located, one job listing says "MGS Family Vancouver" and another says "MGS Family Redmond".

I asked before if I could make a thread, were we have a list of all developers and what their current and future projects are - are people still up for such a thread? I just need some PMs with a bit of help. People would be able to check out the list and see what their favorite developers are doing and it's releasedate - I would keep it updated.

Microsoft's list is pitiful.

Do they really have anything exclusive anymore? Sony and Nintendo have plenty of must have exclusives and many more coming, Microsoft on the other hand don't seem to have anything. I honestly don't know how they could float a new console on the back of their software line up; unless they have a metric shit tonne of stuff they are just holding off on.

I never really realized how few first party teams Microsoft has. I was actually kind of looking through Sony's first and third party lineup the other day and saw that Tarsier had announced Metronome a long time ago and nothing has been updated on it for awhile so it would almost seem like they have to be working on something else at this point. It may still be on the back burner but going this many years without releasing something cannot be good.
