[SPOILERS] Persona 5 Spoiler Thread | Steal your heart; steel yourself

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

From the OT itself:
90 hours 50 minutes.

Game done and wrapped up.
The ending was great, the scenes with your maxed links cheerin you on and the poll finally reachin 100 felt good. And them spreading the word about your imprisonment was a nice addon as well. Fake Igor was a great way of fuckin with ppl who came in expecting a different voice due to IRL situations. Was the eng voice the same dude who did p3/4 tho?

And another thing they really need to stop teasin a Narly return =_= from Akechis true persona awakening onward I like like "HES BACK" but it was a redesigned Loki :mjcry:

P3 still has a better ending tho.

Also, the memes from the spoilers are golden....
The best ones are:
"GORO AKECHI'S WILD RIDE"
and
"SATAN'S SAVING CHRISTMAS!"

Seriously why are robots in Persona 3 and nowhere else

I'm honestly really glad they haven't brought robots back. What makes (modern) Persona work is that the "real world" is relatively "real" and grounded to contrast the more fantastical "alternate worlds". Killer sexy-girl robots just sucks the air out of the room in making the world seem relatable.

Persona 3 "extended universe" lore in general is just, abhorrently awful and P4 and P5 smartly ignore all of it (unlike the Arena games, to their detriment).

I 300% agree with you. It just seems really weird to not acknowledge them anymore but yeah, it's totally for the best.

Because Aigis is a robot specifically made by Mitsuru's company, a secret project of theirs.

Anyways,

Kinda annoying that they're still forcing the "MC goes away from his friends" rule in the ending here, although I don't think there's actually a good reason why he cannot continue to stay in Tokyo.

The "good reason" is probably "his probation is over and his parents want to see their son."

But hey, there's nothing stopping anyone from headcanoning that the gang ride their van off into the sunset and never actually take Joker home. (Well, the spinoffs probably will, but I will never play them and will never know.)

I find it annoying that they didn't add a super secret ending where there is a pic of the protag and his friends grown up. Its probably being saved for the expansion to P5.

So many things they can improve like the romance and killing off dead time like January and most of Feb. Can they also try to not end Palace events on Sundays!?! Like seriously I need my drinks to get my stat ups and order shit from the TV.

Exams killing your evening time is not cool either.

I can't see how I can level up further beyond that aside from grinding the Reaper in Mementos.

The last two shadows in the game give a lot of experience.

For what we've been told about the MC's parents it seemed like they're jerks who were so quick in off-loading their son to someone else far away as soon as he's got into a trouble due no fault of his own :/

No, I don't think that's the case. Sojiro was just being a super dick in the beginning and probably exaggerated a bunch of stuff.

I assumed the reason protag had to move is because Shujin is the only school that would accept him with his record. Could be wrong, though.

suddenly remembered that you fucking fuse the twins with the guillotine into lavenza and am reeling at how simultaneously fucked up and perfect that is

I always had the feelin that outside of the volleyball team, that the school didn't have a good rep and (almost) anyone could've gotten in.
Yeah I thought that too but then it calls into question why Makoto goes there if she's super intellegent and her sister is a big time prosecutor or why the owner of huge food company is sending his daughter there. You'd think they could go to better schools.

I think it's actually a pretty prestigious school but I can't recall, I think there was a story reason to accept the MC?

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Isn't it actually a good thing to take someone with a bad rep and basically keep him in line as if he's being reformed by a good school environment? I thought I recall the principal saying something like that.

Yes, they said it would work that way for the school reputation. But they also said they were the only school that would take that risk.

A Woman
Ark
The Days When My Mother Was There (I think this palace in general is my favorite)
The Whims Of Fate (second favorite palace aka Sae's but favorite Palace theme)
Beneath The Mask (Rain) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAjZ0mJmN9g (I love all versions of this theme but the rain mixes just add something to it for me)
Rivers In The Desert (of course)
Freedom & Security https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up6uoHRMG_s

Once Satanael does manifest himself and the theme kicks in the scene becomes awesome. I think my biggest problem with that part is the fact that Mishima is instrumental in it.

So the moment was appropriate and everything, but did anyone else groan when MC unlocked Satanael cause of spirit bombs?

Despite the Phan-site poll going higher being cheesy, it's well deserved and it was still pretty cool.

The Satanael scene was still pretty cool though, one of the best Persona scenes.

Did anyone NOT see the Akechi twist coming, even if they missed the "pancakes" significance?

Dude was a creeeeeeeep. And the way he would laugh to himself after every fight. And yell IT'LL BE A MASSACRE before all out attacks.

Voice actor did a great job portraying a psychopath. I loved how he would scream PERSONAAAA in the most horrifying way possible during his actual boss fight.

Actually i didn't, this is my first persona game but I am usually pretty good with this type of stuff. As a result this twist really surprised me.
One of the biggest reason is that I agree with him to a certain extent when he was first introduced. I like they call the morality of the thieves into question because atm I also have the same concern like is "changing people's heart" really morally right?
Then the social link begins, every link Sae gave a small statement to summarize how they help the MC and thieves. So when Sae said someone feeding thieves police inside info I basically assumed Akechi will be the "inside man" for the thieves in his social link. (Then later revealed it's Makoto who stole the police data... damn game you fooled me!)
Also he has the god damn "Justice" card. Of course I think him just (never again I learned my lesson Persona!)
Then again he earned a lot of points by being persistent with his opinions even when the public attacks him for criticising thieves. idk, I just like ppl have a firm stance on things and not swayed by mob mentality. Then when the public abandoned you he chose to support you at the moment it all seemed very genuine and sincere.
His auto level up social link seems a little off to me, but I brushed it off because Mona and Igor also have auto social link.
And he joined the party as the unique light/dark user.

The "pancake" moment is really one of the rare "holy shit" moments in my gaming experience. In fact the final chapter just blew my mind and I couldn't foresee any of those events.
Just... beautiful

Is there a mistake in the trophy descriptions?

I just finished the 4th Palace, and so far, each of the Palace owners have been called out in their calling card w/ their Deadly Sin - Lust for Kamoshida, Vanity for Madarame, Greed for Kaneshiro - and the trophy description has matched.

Except now on the fourth palace, Futaba's calling card called out the sin of sloth, but the trophy description is "Pyramid of Wrath collapses".

So, uh, what happened here?

The trophy's the one that's right actually.
In the Japanese version, her calling card makes no mention of Sloth, that's something the localization added.
While all the other calling cards mention specific sins, hers is more of a formality for the sake of making the treasure materialize than an actual one, so hers just says "you have committed a deadly sin" without specifically naming one in Japanese.
In English for whatever reason they decided that wasn't enough and put sloth in her calling card. It wouldn't be a stretch to call her sloth, but that's not what she was actually meant to be, since Sloth is actually represented by Mementos.

So, uh, what happened here?

The Wrath of Futaba's past? The Wrath of the huge Sphinx mother? Sloth was Futaba's own sin. But the palace was a place of wrath.

Take a look at the other palaces. Lust filled castle, Vanity museum, and a Gluttony filled bank.

Your next one will actually be Greed since Kaneshiro was Gluttony.
