So what do people think are the best backgrounds? I've been looking at people's profiles and it seems like if it's game characters it doesn't look good because it gets cut off when not in full screen and in general looks like an ad

I like Dr. Fetus, he gets cut off but you can see him giving the finger and it's mostly black with white lines which makes the picture a good, not too intrusive background.

I'm gonna be honest, thought this whole trading card thing was pretty dumb when I first started reading about it, but I've already made about $10 by doing literally nothing (since the initial cards are just time sinks). Made me realize how brilliant the whole system is. Devs can get money from people wanting games with cards, people who want the cards can trade/buy them, people who don't care can just sell them, and valve sits at the top laughing at us all since they get a cut of games and market place goods. I hope more older games starting supporting them, I've got like 188 games on Steam that I would gladly sell every card for.

I've thought about actually increasing my level (since I've read the higher your level the higher chance you have at booster packs?), but, I am level 9 right now so I am just going to sit here for a while and see if I get any packs very often and then mess with it later if I feel like it.

And all of the money you make goes into your Steam wallet that you just end up spending on either more items on Steam or on games. Eventually all the money makes it to Valve.

I for one, am totally annoyed by Valve's seedy little tax system they built into the market. I should receive what the buyer pays in full, not Valve taking a direct cut off the top. They don't really tax on ordinary sales, so why this?

Also annoyed you have to pay real money just to get card drops in DOTA 2 and TF2. It should be in-game currency of some kind. But again, the entire concept behind earning the cards is stupid. No skill involved, no real completion involved, no special goodies for longtime players, playtime not taken into account, and ability to play well not taken into account. It's a great idea, just horribly flawed execution when it comes to earning these sets.

In that way, I'm kind of glad Dark Souls isn't participating. Even though I'm sure the art would be amazing and backgrounds too. But dropping just for idling is a shitty way to execute this model imo.

I got one the day that booster packs went live for Bit.Trip Runner 2. Just opened up Steam, and there it was sitting in my inventory. Also, I'm only a level 10 so my chances of getting one were pretty low.
