Thanks! Melyes, arges and riges and serges. I'll just roll with it and try not to think too much about weighs or distances lol.

Yes, it is a much larger and longer game than FC.

Are you kidding me, I don't think I'm even halfway through FC, I've already played it for 17 hours and 90% of it has been plot related reading

Not that I'm complaining, but I really hope SC is gonna come out in July in that case. Doubt I'll have much time to play on weeks when uni starts again.

July of next year might be a possibility.

Been playing through Ao no Kiseki Evo to try and refresh my memory going into Sen II, and wow, I'm seeing so much stuff in a different light after having played Sen.

Chapter 2 spoilers:
The first time Olivier appears in Ao, he's talking to his bro Mueller about the military academy and how he owes it to "those kids" to give it his best at the big conference. Just that little bit of dialogue feels so much more important with the context of them meeting him in the capital city and having that little tea party. So cool.

Beyond that though, getting chapter 2 fully voiced alone is worth the price of admission.

Don't rush it. Just enjoy the game. If you get impatient and start skipping quests you'll miss out on a lot of the story and likewise a lot of the enjoyment.

Now you know why so many hadn't the guts to localise Kiseki?

And future games in the franchise are pretty much the same size as SC or larger, so FC I'd pretty much nothing but an appetisers in comparison.

Yeah lol, it's pretty hardcore. I certainly don't envy the people translating the game. Translating from English to Finnish is frustrating enough at times, I don't even want to think how it is with Japanese.

So looking at the info from Famitsu last week, it looks like there's a bigger dependency on Ao for Sen 2 than there was with Zero for Sen 1 because of all the new information and the like.

It looks like the chronological sequence, including overlap, for the series right now is Zero -> Sen -> Ao -> Sen 2. Interesting to say the least and pretty wild. I recall hearing that Zero/Ao's events were kind of the precursor to the big show but it's kind of being one half of it right now, lol. Maybe we'll get a Sen 3?

Well the timeline was laid out before Sen even came out

But they also said there would only be two Sen games. We'll see!

Remember during one of the talkshows that the next entry to the series might take place in Calvard.

Maybe we will finally find out the mystery of the "Clam Dip Flow"... Zane, please.

Yeah, too bad we don't get access to the mags so readily over here. >=(

It'll depend on the events in Sen 2 in the end. I definitely am thinking Sen II will enter the time directly post-Ao before the last bit of the credits in that game. At least in some fashion . It would be interesting to go to Sen 3 from there.

I'm going to resume my SC play through today. After finishing FC I started it directly but the combination of going back to weaker characters + the fucking sewers dungeon got the better of me. I'll try to clear that dungeon ASAP and hopes it picks up after, wish me luck.

After playing the 3 TitS games, what would be the best course of action? Is it better to play in production order or might it be interesting for the general plot to go Zero > Sen > Ao > Sen II? Also taking into account that I will likely only play the entire series once.

The absolute best way to play them is chronological order, but Zero > Sen > Ao > Sen II might be interesting.

It'll prob be super jarring to be jumping around casts like that if you're going back to back though.

Yeah, release order is technically best because it keeps the stories grouped together but the chronological order might be interesting because of how it all fits into one piece. But it could be jarring to go between 2D and 3D as well.

Dat fucking cliffhanger, dayum

So yeah, finished TiTS FC. Took me around 40 hours and I did rush at some parts, so... Damn. Insanely long. I did have some problems with the dialogue and some of the characters (
never been a big fan of the "my troubled and tragic past made me super mature" bs, but maybe I'll let it slide with Joshua cause he was built to be like that or whatever
), but overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

There were some fetch quests here and there but oddly it didn't ruin the pacing for me. Really liked the story.

Can't wait for SC. I really really hope it actually comes out this year. Now I need some more JRPGs to play, thank god ToX2 and SMT IV (EU) are coming out soon.

Wish I knew Japanese.

e: oh yeah, and not enough olivier and nearly not enough cassius! easily the best characters

e2: music was too cheerful too and oftentimes didn't fit imo.

I think that FC has, by far, the weakest soundtrack in the series. Not that it's bad, but I do generally agree with the criticisms. Don't worry; it gets better.

Yea I think I've read some particularly positive stuff about SC and its music

Don't worry. They will get to make up for lost time in SC. Both of them do.

Hell yeah, going to be great. It's gonna be a long and painful wait I think.

Don't worry- the series veterans have been through a wait one way or another with the series in Japanese too. We can be here to support you!

(Trust me. It gets worse. Waiting for years is easy compared to the last week to two weeks before the game release. Always.)

Urgh

This one is really good though.

e: or the first 30 seconds are, then it gets a bit boring

It ain't that guardpost track! :p

I was almost going to use that, but I'm going to guess you're probably going to be in very small company who does like the very experimental first part, but not the lilting melodie and sparse percussion of the breakdown.

There's great stuff in FC, as I said.
But FC doesn't have battle themes as good as this or even this.

Which puts the "worst" talk into perspective.

I got into this series via the music via "Best ***** Music in games list" I had running in the background, so part of the reason is getting hit broadside by this without warning, so know they're correct that it gets EVEN BETTER, Muntu.

Having moved on to the other games in the series, I'm super nostalgic for FC's brand of light hearted music and jazzy awesomeness.

I've always had a soft sport for the regular battle theme. The version on Kiseki Zanmai is pretty great.

I cleared the sewers and I am now in
the Saint-Croix Forest
in SC. I have been wondering... Do I remember wrong or wasn't there an option to display an actual map in FC? I can't find the option here and I'm really having problems finding my way around :x

Generally there are only maps for cities and the routes between them. Your location is considered a "dungeon" and therefore lacks the map. Just make sure you make use of the rotating camera a lot, because some chests are easily missable. The silly thing I do in dungeons is basically follow a particular wall all round until I find the exit, then go back and continue along the other side until I get back to the entrance. It helps me creating a map in my mind while finding all the treasure chests.

I took the plunge into SC a week or two ago and I'm progressing nicely. Arrived in the second chapter and every time I wish for something to happen, something happens. The game has been very exciting thus far, with many hilarious (thank you, Olivier) moments, but if I'm to believe what I heard, the latter half of SC is where the brilliance is really at.

So it's just been confirmed that the English PC release of Trails FC will support any resolution:

And we've got a look at an achievement too:

I can't contain my hype!

I was hoping the archievents would be drawn by the same person who did the Ys ones. Oh well, that's hardly a problem.

They're doing a pretty good job on the port

Er... they are! Hatsuu drew the achievement icons for the Ys games, for Trails, and for Corpse Party.

Oh, I see. The art seems more detailed, so I though it was a different person, but I guess she just got better at it.

Thank for clarifying it.

Here is more accurate official timeline for Zero/Ao/Sen directly from Falcom
