Is it just me or is "assault turret" total ass on both SP and MP? Seems like an utter waste of time. Am I just using it wrong?

These crashes on Xbox one are getting super frustrating, three in a row now on wave 6,6,7 and it seems completely impossible to host a match. 70% of matches are laggy mess but when it works it's great...

I've seen people use it alright with the flamethrower attachment and putting it near where enemies like to gather(Like on that middle roof on the ice map). But mostly, it's just a good distraction, the damage it puts out unless you completely spec toward it is terrible, and it won't survive long.

Might help but I went to custom match, selected any apart from difficulty, I usually play silver or bronze, then went to join match. The only time I experience being kicked or crashes is playing through Quick match or the Apex specific missions. Just my experience tho, could be diffferent for you but I thought it may stop the annoying crashes for you.

Unfortunately I didn't join any of those matches via quick match but thank you for the suggestion.

Someone opened $1500 dollars worth of Premium Packs over on Reddit. Their data suggests a Premium Pack has about a 20-25% chance to get an Ultra-Rare.

...and you would need 800,000,000 credits to max ultra-rares without paying money.

Question About Strike Teams:
I have a level 20 team, no negative traits. They are basically guaranteed at this point to succeed on bronze/silver missions, but gold missions still show a 55%-ish success rate. I'd love to buy some equipment to bump that % up where I'm less likely to get a negative trait, but having a hard time figuring out what I should invest in. My positive traits are currently:

  • Virtuous
  • Outlaw Specialist
  • Elite
  • Bloodthirsty
  • Precise

I'm finding it hard to parse out what does what and why certain equipment is more expensive than others when they show the same effectiveness bonus...

I don't think the game does anything to try and explain this. There are folks trying to experiment and figure it out over here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MECoOp/comments/620cu8/psa_strike_teams_equipment_and_effectiveness/

The existence of ultra-rare character cards is probably the biggest offender in causing this, it's pretty fucked that they're starting us at 5 UR characters. I'd prefer there be none at all, or at the very least there be another way to level their rank - perhaps by promoting?

On the bright side, the UR characters are all viable at rank I, but it's still unacceptable that we have all these cards diluting the weapon pool.

Throwing people off the map is what makes it good. Put someone in pull, push them off the map, instant kill on things that don't have shields.

i hadn't realized pull and throw wasn't in the regular biotic class. It's pretty basic in the campaign, but does seem like it could be powerful in MP

Yeah, the grind for this game seems far, far higher in ME3 and we haven't even had any expansions yet. so many ultra rare characters already is obnoxious, and the fact you need 10 copies to max each out disgusting.

Really feels like they dropped the ball on this one - and greed certainly hasn't helped.

If that's true I think that's around 15,000 games on gold haha!

Edit: in the link he says 80,000,000 not 800,000,000. Quite a difference. So that's 1500 games on gold which I think is manageable?

i dont mind the fact rhat there are already UR weapons/characters

what I find fucking stupid isthat you need your character at rank X to mac his skills... Why? Why didjt they just keep it for armor customization only like in ME3?

so, so dumb... and probably greedy

Yep it does say 80,000,000. My mistake. Of course your luck may change that number as well. Its possible to get 2 ultra-rares from a single pack.

My input is with the way the game is now it doesn't really matter if you have an ultra rare as certain skill sets are a hell of a lot better than others and it really is just a matter of a similar character just with different skills. I feel the human kineticist is an interesting exception with the uniqueness of biotic ascension.

I think they listened to us when we said we wanted character cards to eventually max out and drop out from the loot pool. But I guess they thought if they were going to implement that, they might as well make them more useful and tie them to something (like skills).

When they implemented that part they probably were thinking of the hardcore fan that is going to pour hundreds of hours into this. For them this is trivial. I think andromeda is a good lesson in what happens when you either listen to the wrong fans or draw the wrong conclusions from what they are saying. Not sure which one it is.

Wait, there's a limit to your character level based on how many times you've pulled the character from a pack?

No, you can level to max *but* you don't get all the skill points you used too. The last 25 skill points are locked behind character cards 6 through to 10 (which is a fucking lot of skill points to be missing!).

No, all characters level up to 20 but there are additional skill points locked behind the character unlocks.

You get the same # of skill points in ME3 as in MEA with just the character unlocked, but you get MORE skill points for having additional character unlocks. I believe it ends up being 1 whole additional skill to max via the character cards. (edit) well, not quite. I still don't find it to be *that* much of an issue.

Honestly? I think people are slightly blowing this out of proportion. Most characters certainly don't *need* those additional skill points... that said, it's probably a kick in the balls to pull your 4th or 5th ultra rare character and unlock a fucking color....

So if you join a game in progress, help them complete the objective and then get kicked from the lobby you lose your consumables.

Awesome.

ME3MP was just as unbalanced at release and I was experiencing way more connection drops then. Host switching almost never worked, it does now.

The skill points tied to class card level is annoying but it makes getting card dupes worth a damn, in ME3 it was pointless since you could go full power with just a single card.

There's less OHK mobs in the game now and the new banshee is arguably easier/more fun to kill : you don't just wail on it mindlessly, you have to coordinate your actions to do it.

The jetpack, lack of over-the-wall grab, constant flanking and new crowd control mob abilities force you to play more intelligently, have an escape route or simply cover all directions with your team. If you miss camping behind a wall for an entire wave that much then look up the Havoc with air spec, you stay hovering forever and tanking the entire enemy army while laughing and mowing them down with a Raptor.

All in all the game evolved for the better imo.

I agree based on my experience so far. But I do think the mode should have launched in a better state. All that experience developing and supporting ME3 MP and they really stumbled with the out of the box product here in ME:A. It's a shame, but luckily the problems I have are fixable.

They ran out of time. I suspect they had to stop working on it at some point to get the SP in a shippable state and the MP is still in a better state than the single player.

Hopefully they will have separate teams working on MP and SP so we don't have to wait for ages for updates.

Crashed again for the 3rd time. I'm done with MP for a little bit, like I wasted my fucking boosts and everything on this strike mission. So annoying.

That's almost 500 hours of multiplayer. Which is fucking insane.

I put in over 600 hours in me3, mainly platinum and gold, and still didn't max everything out. :/ This one feels far more tedious, but it may just be because I know what a waste of time it is. It's still pretty fun, but besides the shorter matches I can't think of anything it does better than me3.

I do like the jumping and evasions. That alone is keeping me playing and, yeah, 7 waves. I'll have a hard time going back to me3. They do need to work at balancing weapons and certain powers though.

i feel like i'd appreciate me3 MP more after playing this ha. Not that this is awful, but i figured it would leave me never wanting to touch 3's MP again but it most definitely doesn't do that. hopefully they keep releasing characters but STOP making them UR's! I hate opening premium packs and getting 2 characters. i guess once they install an arsenal pack that'll be ok but it's really annoying now.

Can you use your own character or is it all pre-made? (That can't be right, can it?)

they're all premade

also here is my revised list of stuff they need to improve to make it better than ME3's MP

-Remove skill points locked behind character ranks
-Boost all weapon damage by at least 50%, then boost weapons with a case by case basis
-Boost combo damage by at least 100%
-Make the cobra not shit... it needs to one shot everything. The current cobra doesnt even take half of a hydra's health away on gold.... And doesn't kill berserkers in one hit
-Make melee lock-on better. Also where is heavy melee attack? Heck, the berserkers have the same re-used heavy attack animation from ME3... Why is it not accessible in the game, at least for krogans...I don't really get it
-Would be cool to be able to reload while running
-The ''UploadABC'' objective needs to be made so that it doesn't get interrupted when an enemy gets in the circle. I also noticed that if you leave the circle, the bar actually drains down... Which is stupid as heck. Why is this basically a 5x harder Hack?
-Add more diversity to objectives ( as someone else noted in the thread, where is pizza delivery and escort the drone?
-Make Random give bonus EXP
-Make headshots not almost impossible if not host. At least more consistency would help

the thing is that these are all fixable issues too, they just need to tweak numbers... Hopefully the wait won't be too long. If they do all of this this would basically be a better ME3MP with much better movement and mechanics right off the bat

Also I noticed that on gold, the waves basically all only have 1 of the big boys and they dont respawn... I remember in ME3 where a banshee would spawn as soon as one is killed, you had almost no time to breath. My guess as to why they did that is that they noticed how slow and boring taking one down is with the way weapon damage and power damage sucks in this game... its a shame because usually its taking down the big dudes that is the most satisfying

The dash evade rarely seems to be effective both in SP and MP. It's flashy and fun to use but enemies are aim bots so while dashing it seems you constantly take damage anyway while you shouldn't be.

Is it me, or have they changed the damage modifiers from me3 where Biotic combos don't do double against armor anymore? I've been trying out fire combos on my krogan engineer and they definitely seem more effective.

I think the evade really only serves to help avoid slow moving projectiles, to quickly move from one piece of cover to another very nearby one, or to quickly finish a run. That's just my feel of it though.

I use it to send out my strike teams when I'm at work.

I swear by the app. I started the SP a couple days after the launch and I had already a dozen boxes to open with FemRyder. I've been showered with ressources, money and ultra rare weapons. It's great. The only annoying thing is not being able to use the app to debrief/send teams out while you're playing the game.

It is extremely good for priming if used right, though I'm not good at this.

It's the reason why I prefer the cryo version of the turret, the flamethrower is super short range and the cooldown on it is too long, cryo is just fired all the time.

App is real handy for sure. Have about 130 crates of whatever for when I get to it in single player.

Fyi the cryo version of the turret is bugged. All shots when picking that makes it do 0 damage.

This would make the game so trivial.
They need to boost weapons definitely and maybe some powers, but not by those values across the board.

Cobra is fine, you have 20+ of them per match to use if you want. You need 2 cobras to kill the heaviest enemies.

You can only carry two shots, in gold you would be swarmed with big enemies

Really don't like how Characters are locked to RNG.

I keep getting ones I don't care about after spending 50k/100k on a pack, and have to continue to play Krogan Engineer because it's the only character I really like that I have, even though the turret is pretty shitty.

You should be able to buy the level 1 of a character and 'prestige' it to reach rank 2.

Too much grinding and RNG luck; not sure how long I have the patience for this system.

Tried this properly with my friend last night. The matchmaking seems terrible. We really struggled to get anyone else to join a game on xb1 until eventually we hosted one where people suddenly joined a few minutes into the match.

Is there some trick to it? Nobody seems to join when in the lobby.
