What about the beard?Mmmm dat hood <3
i would like to see this someday
Dat manhood.What about the beard?
Let's hope this is not going to be their Gothic 3.
If the quests are designed around it, it will affect everyone. Are there people out there who genuinely get upset that fast travel is available to the players that want to use it? It's not like Oblivion level scaling where it effects everyone. You don't have to use it, and you tend to stumble upon more secrets if you don't.
So much this. Fast travel once was feature which had meaning like in Morrowind. You paid fo carriage or boat and you could go to other city. It was also immersive. Same thing with GTA4 taxi service.
third person only, and combat poops from a great heigh into the likes of skyrim
If this pans out Bethesda really has to step up their game or they will look foolish compared to this.
They already do. Witcher 2 blows every wrpg out of the water in recent memory. Witcher 3 further cements CDPR's status.
They're already way behind the curve. If it takes a shit-ton of mods to make your game into an actual rpg, you've already failed.
This sounds like the game Skyrim should've been. This is gonna be awesome.
the problem with that system though is thats its not seamless. you can't find a carriage or boat at a moment's notice, you have to track one down, go through the animations, etc. and you also have no control. while having that option is great, I think Skyrim's system works well where there is still a change in time of day when you fast travel, so you have a sense of time having passed and your character having travelled. I believe you can also use a carriage in Skyrim can't you? so thats a perfect system.
.
Does that mean Witcher 3 will be out first since there's a whole cover story on it?
Yes, this should be out next year, while Cyberpuank in 2015/2016.Cyberpunk and Bearded Geralt will make my next gen purchase an easy one.

oh for god's sake stop with the hyperbole. its all good and well to have a preferred series/game personally, but do you have to shit on Skyrim lol? behind the curve, really? in what way has CDPR or the Witcher games surpassed Bethesda and Skyrim, commercially or critically? How have they 'cemented' their status? Skyrim is far ahead of Witcher 2 in both sales and metacritic rating.
now you may like Witcher better in every way, and thats fine, it may be a better game to you. but its just absurd saying things like Bethesda is behind the curve lol, or that somehow the status of CDPR is objectively better than Bethesa.
No chapters/acts
Old Geralt.
Legendary Witcher.
One final mission.
The thing I'm most excited about is what they do to their towns/world approach. The step from 1 to 2 was incredible, and I can only hope they take another full step forward with it all.
Riding a horse... Going to be so great. I hope Roach is there. : D

Why the fuck isn't this out on the iOS newsstand yet!!??
Some major german gaming sites posted the screens. They look good but not that much better than TW2 imho.
CD Projekt RED has provided the screenshots you see here from its current in-game assets running on its Internal PC development hardware. However, the renderer - the part of the engine that translates the game files into what you ultimately see on screen - is still in development and will boast significant improvements by the time The Witcher 3 ships. "Right now you see the game in the old renderer, but it's going to be taken to a truly next level," says gameplay producer Marek ZSiemak. In particular, the developers tell us that skin shaders and the dynamic lighting model will be markedly more advanced in the final version.

2PM Central Time, according to the GI site.
someone sent me a link with scans. is posting the link allowed or not? (sorry I'm usually on OT side)

Yeah, officially NOT digging it being open world. In 25 years of gaming I've yet to play more than like 5 open world games that didn't completely lose steam after the first 10 hours or so.
Tread lightly, CDPR :/

No.
Think of scans as pirated material (magazines, in this case).
