Why is a SOURCE(!) game suffering on the XBox One? It hardly looks better than Portal 2!
It's a generational lead. About 7 times more raw gpu power and 16 times more ram.I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I kinda am. How much more powerful is the One when compared to the 360?
Does the X1 still use that sharpening filter when upscaling to 1080p?
If you watch and read the interviews, you can tell they're all on the same page. I think there's a company wide mandate that the term "720p" not be uttered. What a "Hey, it aint 720p" resolution.
So that 10% Performance increase was true.
720*10% = 72
720+72= 792
Well done insiders.
(Lol)

Do we know the resolution on PC?
This gen is turning into a mess of odd resolutions. age of upscaling
Probably in the beta, but there is thread already mentioning Respawn working with MS to improve the XB1 scaler. Hopefully that makes it in the March update.
But while most of its technical design is built to typically hold at 60fps, it's a little disappointing to find most Titan-on-Titan action gets a bit choppy once the missiles start flying. For those interested, Digital Foundry will be covering this in greater depth in the coming days.
They should put some black borders around it and render at 1080p, I heard that's perfectly ok and full HD.

All they really needed to do was have it not sharpen anything at all.
Microsoft: Will it be 1080p/60fps?
Dev A: We're thinking 720p.
Microsoft: Can you get higher?
*Dev A gets back to tinkering*
Dev A: I got it running at 791p.
Microsoft: Can you do better?
Dev A: 792p?!
Microsoft: Great!

Nah, Ryse is the graphical showcase for the xb1. Halo and gears will also look phenominal no doubt. This is the Xbox One showcase?
Major Nelson, what happened to 1080p on Xbox One? (Just like you made fun of PS3 not able to handle 1080p years ago.)

"It’s also been stated that the Xbox One is ten times more powerful than the Xbox 360, so we’re effectively 40 times greater than the Xbox 360 in terms of processing capabilities [using the cloud]. If you look to the cloud as something that is no doubt going to evolve and grow over time, it really spells out that there’s no limit to where the processing power of Xbox One can go. I think that’s a very exciting proposition, not only for Australians, but anyone else who’s going to pick up the Xbox One console.”
Nice. Crazy to think the build isn't final a month out though.
At this point they'd be better off bringing the resolution back down to 720p and the locking the framerate at 60 fps.
Might as well round it up to 800.
^This. Unless the drop in frame-rate is too noticeable at anything higher than 792p?
Seriously,why such a random number?
