Yeah I noticed that :lol. I still need to check the prison guy, María and forensics girl, but the game starts pretty cool.

^Heh, excellent. Wonder how that programmer feels about his cameo in the game. xD

And I really enjoyed the Diagonistics/Forensics sections, even though I am a big fan of the intense surgeries of previous games. Banter between Little Guy/Naomi, Roni/Gabe (for example especially during
diagnosis of the soldier - put that "to hell with it!" algorithm to use, Roni!
) was really fun. Though I do agree that I'd prefer for Atlus to continue the series in both directions - with the more varied style of Trauma Team and the challenging gameplay of TCs past.

Go for it! The RONI and Gabe sprites just fit together too perfectly in that 90x120px space. :D

If anyone else wants to use the other individual sprites as avatars, just holler at me since I've already cropped them all out.

You guys are nuts. Forensics is amazing. I have to keep myself from doing them all at once so I can spread the gameplay out evenly. :p

*Bale"GOODFORYOU".gif*

I can't play them for long, I rather have the DO IT. DO IT NOW OR THEY DIE. missions. :(

And I'm totally stuck on
Gabe's kid
second diagnosis. I can't seem to find anything wrong in the CT scans. Ugh.

Trauma Team in a Nutshell:

More approachable and varied than previous Trauma Center games. But it's also less intense. It's less action-puzzler and more medical simulation.

If you thought that the Trauma Center series needed a shot in the arm of something different, or you thought the previous games were too hard, you'll like Trauma Team.

If you played the Trauma Center games mostly for the difficult and intense virus battles, you'll be disappointed.

This review nailed it.

Endoscopy, ugh.

RAWK SOLID!

Finished.

Best game in the series, easily.

I'd be sad if Atlus gives up on it after this. I know they've never sold insanely well, but they're extremely good games.

Does the final chapter have some awesome surgeries in it? That's really the best part. I'm like 2 chapters away on forensics (Which is cool but far too long and repetitive), one away on diagnostics (ditto) and one away on endoscopy (just dumb).

Should I finish? I'm lacking the motivation to right now.

Well it depends. It has some good moments, but the surgery is quite underwhelming when compared to the older ones.

Ok, ok. I definitely finished the game after I realized 3 of those stages I needed to clear were just the story ones. :lol

I'm pretty impressed by the overall package. The game has several pretty interesting story lines, and enough variety to keep you going throughout the whole thing. One thing that motivated me throughout the whole thing was the final chapters that were only unlockable if you finish EACH character's regular stages.

Possible spoiler:
I will say though, most of the game was a bit too easy, but damn, some of the goals they have set for the "specialist" modes are definitely hard. 90 seconds for that first mission? I'm sure I can do it, but I'm gonna have to memorize or something.

Definite spoiler:
Rosalia :(

Just finished Gabe's last story related mission other than the X-missions, just wow. That sucked. Looking up the condition online it seems
his kid won't make it out alive

Haven't seen the conclusion yet. Gotta do Naomi and CS's story bit for that timeline and catch up. Just glad to be over with these. Now if I could finish Naomi's bit and focus on surgery's alone I'd be a happy camper. :lol

Edit: I do like that the storyline intertwines. I just wish they told you the exact order they go in. Like Gabe's last story connects to Naomi's but Naomi's comes slightly before and just after her last one. Ugh.

I still request NichM or AtlusAram to supply me with the model art or whatever you call it of (late Naomi's case spoilers)
the bomber woman at the airport.
. If possible! :p

Regarding an earlier question about DS versus Wii versions of the Trauma series, I think one of the strongest Wii advantages is that it makes a really good multiplayer game. Being able to split up tasks in surgery is pretty great. Not as much a strength in this game, but then there's no DS Trauma Team for it to compete with.

Some of the logic in forensics make me want to scratch my head though.
I've only done the first one so far, but I did find myself arguing with the game a few times.

Naomi: Hey... he's wearing a different shirt than his friend said he was bragging about.
Me: Maybe that's because that was the night before and he changed clothes!
Naomi: Nope. This is Definitive Proof his finger was broken by a post-mortem change of clothes.

Game: Pick when the drugs must have spilled.
Me: Not all of these can be ruled out. I'll try "After the fire".
Naomi: Then how could it be there for me/cops/firemen to step on, huh?
Me: Because you guys were walking around there after the fire.

Just got the game in from Gamefly and it's great. Just that the blurriness surprised me, but well that's Wii on HD.

Other than that, this game is just too awesome.

HOLY SHIT @ Naomi's
first part of the bomber case
ending. HOLY SHIT!

I knew something was up when
the bomber/deliverywoman said "oh, my pad is broken. No delivery company would use analogue forms unless the whole branch of the company's pads were broken, surely they have replacements? Then the carbon dust was the big tip-off.

Why Naomi didn't
go after the woman once she saw the carbon dust
was :| Also, how the hell could
Alyssa take the bear? Naomi is taller than her, she was holding the box up at the time and saw the carbon dust.
Or am I not remembering the scene right? I don't think it was ever on the ground.

I do like that the next part is connecting to
Gabe's kid's operation with CS being in the "Old Ward" after that operation
Guess Gabe's last chapter doesn't end the way I think it does.

Suddenly, these text adventures went from dry to "okay, now I really want to see what happens." :lol

Also the ATLUS BIOS screen was :lol

First time Trauma Center player. I'm loving the game, but I don't understand how to do sutures. I feel like I go right on the line, but I always get BAD. :(

EDIT: Oh apparently you just make a whole bunch of scribbles?

Yes. Zig-zag completely across the wound/quickly/wide and you'll generally get a cool.

It takes a bit of practice, so don't worry about it hugely. But there was never any dotted lines in any of the other games (Trauma Center, anyway) so you don't have to worry about being on the "dotted line" except for a few things in Team. (Note: Freebird)

You zig zag over the line as you follow it.

Okay need a little help here. I'm stuck in the "carpet of blue death" episode.

I have checked all the locations and Naomi says there is nothing to learn from any of them or the corpse or clothing. Little Guy is checking out 5 cards and I have the following cards:

The voice card
Blue deathbed
cut on left foot
gun fired near entrance
gun fired near desk
murderous intent

What do I do now? None of the above cards seem to combine. Hints appreciated.

Sometimes the answer isn't always obvious... I know I got stuck at that point as well.

Try giving Little Guy all the cards again, or try all combinations, no matter how weird.

The only other thing left is to make sure Naomi is specifically saying that there is nothing else to be found, otherwise there usually is something.

I beated the game. Some considerations.

Really, really awesome.
One of the best titles i've ever played (consider that I love the serie so much).

I think Atlus made a great work opening the Trauma Center series to new genres.
The result is totally amazing. I loved every part of the game, the action sections and the forensic/diagnostic too.

What about comparing it to the other two Wii games (Second Opinion and New Blood).
well the pace is slower now. In this title you will not find the frenetic action of Second Opinion neither the super difficulty of New Blood. Since I love both of them, it is a pity.

The old school players (I mean the one that like me XS-ed all the operations of the other 2 games) will be a little bit disappinted playing this Trauma Team. Many of the operations are not as difficult as the previous games'.

On the other side this Trauma Team is more that just one game. It does many things and all of them are done very well.

Ah, I was disappointed by the difficult - I said.
I mean that playing it in NORMAL (I don't remember the name but i mean the higher difficult you can have since the begin of the title) I was able to get the S pretty easily. I had difficultied on the entoscopy but I still think I love this discipline too.

Good news asap I beated the game. As you know you unlocock SPECIALIST difficulty that makes you able to try to reach XS. Ok, reaching it is really difficult, at least considering the first surgery operations.

This is a very good news.
Even the medals (something like the X360 achievements) seems a great idea too.

So, is Trauma Team better than Second Opinion and New Blood.
My answer is yes. Definitely.

I can believe IGN gave it just a 7.5

I really wouldn't consider it better just because it's "varied". Hell, NB is much better because it has more varied surgery missions.

Good point.
I meant that I appreciated that they tried to "open" the formula, evenif I really love the NB one.

Anyway the perfect result would be to have a new New Blood + the 5 new disciplined.
Considering that I think that it will take a lot of time to XS everything I think that this one is overall better than the other 2.

In all this, I don't forget how much rewarding was beating with all XS the last chapter (New Blood), possibily the hardest game i've ever played. With that bastard mission "Money Talks" that I won't ever forget.

Boss Doggie

I thought Money Talks was easy if you keep on draining. The real issue there was the Vital drain.

But yeah, I really want to see TT to be expanded - particularly harder and more sections.

Or if not harder by default, have Hard mode available from the start and have an even harder difficulty you can unlock.

New Blood's only claim to fame is Blaylock and her HT, IMO. I kinda wish that moved to Under the Knife 2. Would've been fun playing time-slow or no-vital dropping on the DS.

But yeah, team is okay. But it is no Trauma Center for me. :(

Working through the time line to meet Gabe and Naomi's events. Holy crap at Naomi's ending to her last mission. :|

In Money Talks at level Hard (I was referring to that), to get the XS you have to drain not more than XX pools (i don't remember the minimum number). Since these are random generated you have a lot of chance not to be fast enough.

I think I tried that operation 80 times before getting that XS.

Just started playing this game. First game in the series i played since the original TC on the DS and i'm absolutely loving it.

However one question - should i focus on one character at a time? will i make the time-line of the storyline confusing if i switch between them every now then?

You notice how some characters have breaks (dots with no events)? Working on each character in the same horizontal line of events is the best way to get things in order, though some characters do their part of that area of the plot first. Switching between them makes the story flow better, because if you do one character at a time, you'll just come back to earlier parts of the story when you switch off a character you've made a lot of progress with.

Yeah, try to play everything in the same row before moving down to the next, etc. Although if you played one character at a time I guess it would feel like a neat Rashomon-style story.

But depending on what you like you'll probably find at least one of the character's mission types excruciating, and it'll be a slog going through all of them at once.

I've been playing them one row at a time and the story has flowed pretty well. I think I'm up to the prisoner's first surgery episode.

How many episodes are in the game (counting events since the save file does)?

Started playing all the characters in a row. And i'm really enjoying the game a lot more now, it makes the game feel very varied. I pretty much enjoy all the game types except for endoscope. (which has terrible controls imo).

Forensics reminds me of the investigation segments from miles edgeworth. Which is a good thing.:D naomi is a pretty awesome character too.

whooo! I beat a game this morning (Deadly Premonition!) so Im starting a new one, this one!!

I really like all the trauma center games, except the first wii one coz I never played it... wasnt it jus a remake anyway??

but man... there was nothing fun about Dr Cunningham :(

maaaaaaaaan. this game is kinda of becoming pain in the ass...

during the non-procedural stages, the game jus seems to come to a sudden halt... and even with gamefaqs (thank goodness for them) it still takes forever to complete!!

what's worse is after enduring all that time, the story succeed to jus make u depressed!!

like Im trying to play this game and instead I feel like uuuuhhhhh wtf life is messed up I cant believe Im playing this game I should go outside instead

I have faith that ultimately the story will be good, but man these missions are a draaaaaaag

MICHOACÁN'S MONARCH BUTTERFLY RESERVES ARE MAINLY FORESTS, NOT FLOWER-COATED MOUNTAINS THAT SPAN ALL OVER WHERE THE EYE CAN SEE

ALSO MEXICO IS A FREAKING BIG-ARSE COUNTRY, EVEN ASSUMING YOU CAN FOLLOW A BUTTERFLY TRAIL TO IT MICHOACÁN IS ALMOST AT THE CENTER OF THE COUNTRY

THERE'S NO WAY THEY COULD HAVE MADE THE TRAVEL BOTH WAYS IN LESS THAN A DAY

Atlus fails at Geography, goddamn.

My thoughts exactly, Tera. I was a bit wide-eyed during the end with its unbelievableness. Oh well though. It is just a game, and the ending overall was pretty well done.

Well, my point wasn't actually that it's "just a game," but more like "so many unrealistic things happen in the game and that's the one you choose to nitpick?"

Realism is overrated~

I can digest ghosts, amnesia, visions, and super-mutant pandemics pretty well. I'm used to video game logic. Being able to
find place in the middle of Mexico with no clues except a river of monarch butterflies that extends from the top to the bottom of the country in less than forty-eight hours
is the one thing that kills my suspension of disbelief.

But hey, awesome game was awesome. I am a bit sad that there wasn't nearly enough Cunningham -he was my favourite character, and the diagnostics were very relaxing even when your patients started to die in front of you. It reminded me of House.

At least Michigan is on that map. I live right about where that weird waterfall is, except there are no huge waterfalls here. Interesting...

Anyways, I just got a Wii like a week ago and I've always been interested in the Trauma series. Would this game be a good starting point or should I start with one of the previous games? I've heard that it's more accessible which would be a good thing for me.
