Trump buying those pageants was always creepy; especially since he did it right when he was in the media a lot for saying offensive shit about his ex wife and women in general.

He was always a cornball lucky that he got famous during an era where being a rich white douche somehow gave people a positive opinion of you.

Shiiiiieeeeeet, both Trump and Stern suck.

Stern is a degenerate; never got his appeal. His ego is incredible though lol.

The "where did you find this... Where did you find this..." Is classic. Trump is used to getting his way and amateurs in the GOP Debate where "Where did you find this...?" would derail the accusation. Against the GOP field, when somebody brought up a point that painted Trump in a very critical light, Trump deflected and a comment like "Where did you find this?" would get the other person to give in to him and answer the question, which would then get Trump to deflect the accusation and focus the debate around the source of the accusation, instead of on him. Clinton was poised and prepared for that, and dismissed his interruption to just clearly finish her point, and it was a big win for her.

Fuck that's an excellent point, it's even how forum debates go. Our instincts are to get completely off-course for self-defense mechanics and Hillary knew to drop the bomb and just let it do the rest of the work. Awesome observation.

It's what I've been trying to say-- Trump is such a dick that you don't even need to actually go out of your way to prove it. No way Hillary would drop factually incorrect information during the first crucial debate of this election to be POTUS as it would otherwise wreck her far more than the hand Trump was dealt.

Hopefully Hillary understands this and keeps avoiding the bait.

This video should be shown to anybody entering beauty contests with a type of contract at the end to be some title until the next contest. It doesn't seem worth it at all. I still don't understand what they do during their reign. I have a feeling it's not creating peace in the middle east, or protecting the rain forest from all over the worlds.

"Where did you find this?"

He was shook.

That was beautiful to watch. He was rattled.

It was also surreal to have this celebrity/model/actor play a role like this in the election debates. Surreal but oddly appropriate in this bizarre election cycle to show us Trump's disgusting misogyny and racism. Even if Machado was under contract to keep a certain weight, it's just a disgusting corporate mandate that does indeed dehumanize women. Well played by Clinton at the right moment.

Alicia was doing the rounds a few months ago in Spanish television telling us this Trump story. Who would have thought the telenovela star I first saw in Infierno en el Paraiso in the late 90s would come back to mess with Trump a bit?
It's a bizarre and funny world we live in.

I do love that this is something the Clinton team never mentioned before. Something they were saving for the debate. Something Donald clearly wasn't ready for. His "where did you hear that?" thing was the closest I've heard him to panicking. You'd have e thought Clinton stole these secrets from his vault.

And I can't wait to see what else they have ready for the next month and a half.

Yeah, it was great to see Clinton really get under Trump's skin at the debate and that was probably the biggest instance in which it happened.

Which might be meaningful if his problem with her is that she had problems with the law.

But that's not the case. His problem was with her weight. Him staging a media event for her working out and telling the press "She weighed 118 or 117 pounds and went up to 160 or 170, so this is somebody that likes to eat." like she's some sort of livestock is one of the grossest things I've seen from him.

Oh damn I remember seeing her win in 1996 on TV. Man she was a total knock out (and still is today).

What a POS this guy really is.

i would bet $1000 right now Clinton is going to win. It's like a complete lock.

I don't doubt that as it stands right now she is on track to winning. All I'm saying is that there are millions of voters out there just looking for a reason to say "fuck this politician" and jump on the Trump train. I hope nothing unexpected happens but we must wait for November to find out.

The "both sides" people lack empathy.

Definitely, but I feel like it's even worse than this. The "both sides" people can admit that Trump is an absolute mad man, but they can't bring themselves to support the opposition on the sheer principle of it. To this group, previous elections were so much simpler because their de facto candidate (in other words, whoever their party of choice decided upon) was not as blatantly unacceptable, so towing the party line was as easy to justify internally.

Anecdotally, my own contemporaries and extended family who identify as Republicans or what we as a society perceive as "conservative" literally cannot cope with the options they're presented with. They don't want to be thought of as lunatics, as even the worst of them with the most antiquated ideals can in some way recognize what Trump is and don't wish to be associated with the insanity. That said, their most deeply held beliefs and general ignorance dictate that Hillary is essentially evil.

Half of my Facebook feed has devolved into "b-b-but what about Gary Johnson" because a large portion of these people absolutely refuse to entertain alternative viewpoints, and would rather circlejerk to baseless anti-Hillary rhetoric. I still have multiple conversations per week with people about the email "scandal".

CNN had a small panel discussing this earlier on Anderson Cooper... Boy, the delusional defense of Trump doing anything is beyond apology at this point. I don't even have the words for what Kayleigh McEnany was doing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP0MN3Fv7bM

Saying "I'm an eating machine" as a defense is just... Fuck it. I can't.

They also had Machado on at some point:

If you watch that close enough you can see the point at which Kayleigh dies inside.

Gary Johnson is mostly garbage as well, but for different reasons. Im a both sider tbh, but I disagree that I can't bring myself to vote for Hillary. I'm 100% voting Clinton and urging friends to do so as well. That being said I don't trust her and think both sides are crap.

Wait, what? Are you saying something Machado supposedly said in 1998 is irrelevant, but something Trump supposedly said in 1996 is? For real?

Hey, Trump undoubtedly berated her on her weight since she gained 50 lbs as Ms. Universe. On the surface, that sounds sexist. But this happened due to her representing a major beauty pageant. In sports, if your star player shows up to Spring Training 50 lbs overweight, it would be a serious problem. Athletes and models both rely on their fitness and physique as a profession. Obviously put: In a beauty pageant, looks matter.

She said Trump made her bulimic / anorexic... How horrible! Except when presented with a previous interview where Machado explicitly stated that she already suffered from eating disorders in order to compete and win the pageant in the first place, she had nothing credible to say. Here's a link to last night's Kelly File interview that shows this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DeGAV5A86w

She also has starred in hardcore porn, has a son that turned into a drug lord, and she apparently threatened to kill a judge. In other words, she does not seem credible at all to me. This is a Hannity link - which yeah I know - but her history of problems appear to be factual: http://www.hannity.com/articles/han...kes-trump-critic-alicia-machado-was-15152974/

IMO Hillary chose the wrong person in the debate to show Trump's sexism towards women. I still think I'm going to vote 3rd party - waste my vote to show my dissatisfaction. Because I try to see both sides to everything. And here, both sides suck.

Not that I'm justifying this in any manner (and I'm glad he's getting called out on it) but I feel like this also had a lot to do with what media and culture thought was acceptable treatment of women and body-image enforcement at the time, rather than Trump just being shitty.

Wow - victim blaming and slut shaming in the same post. Good job. Bonus points for using right wing sources to support your post.

Except she was never in porn. You can't just cite shit made up by Hannity. She did Playboy, that's it, and even if she was in porn that doesn't excuse Trump's behavior.

Exactly, its not like we don't have evidence of him being a disgusting creep.

if appraising women solely on their appearance were okay, which its not. I would point out how Ms. Machado looks really, dangerously, extremely hot in that video that Trump arranged for to humiliate her into sticking to a workout regimen.

I have to imagine this from the perspective of every reporter who covered that event.

"Wait, this lethally hot women is an embarrassment somehow?"
"This is a problem? We're devoting airtime to this but not the Bosnia conflict?"

Its weird for me to imagine anyone finding her unattractive then, because the visual proof on display contradicts that rather hugely.

i think the porn talk relates to the sex she had on a reality show that she was on a few years ago?

is it ok to post the youtube link? no nudity but its obviously not safe for work.

Holy cow I think Hannity removed and re-edited the article. Maybe she didn't do porn. It's not in the links anymore but also nothing I'd just make up on the fly, you know?
