To the people complaining that they want a new IP, YOU JUST GOT ONE! Let the Uncharted fans have their Uncharted. jeez!
I'm kind of tired of this argument playing out in every Uncharted thread. I'm up for them making some changes to the formula, but lots of people actually like Uncharted so the persistent whining over Naughty Dog working on their most successful series ever that is still on the upswing just seems bizarre to me. Give it a rest or don't play it (maybe better still).
I think it is perfectly fine to discuss what you want from a new Uncharted, but I'm getting sick of seeing people asking for new IP. You just got one. Why do they have to keep cranking out new IP? What kind of standard are we holding them to?
If Amy Hennig wants to make a new one, she should get to. And if you don't like that you can go into the woods and sit in a hole.
One company, one team, one giant pool of talent that stays fluid while they tackle the tasks of each project.
THEY JUST RELEASED A NEW FRANCHISE
:lol
It'll be three years since Uncharted 3 if they release next fall, thats plenty of time. Considering companies milk franchises like AC and COD its like a eternity since the last game.
Uncharted 3 came out in 2011. 3 years is too soon for you?
Uncharted hate surprises me. Yes, they're linear games, but they're incredibly well crafted and enjoyable games. But then again, anything that is seemingly popular is hated upon.
I'm very happy to see an Uncharted 4. I think it's a great opportunity for ND to show what they can do on a more powerful machine. Uncharted 2 blew minds; hopefully U4 can deliver the same impact.
You don't like the games. That's fine. But calling them poor games? That's an extreme exaggeration.Wish they would move onto new IP like they did with TLoU, I thought the Uncharted series were incredibly overrated poor games personally.
Didn't find a single character in Uncharted interesting, or the story and the gameplay was run of the mill barring the odd megatacular set piece of silliness. Although it is a series loved by many so fair enough, but couldn't that have been handed off to another studio to 'replicate'.
Uncharted 4, The Last of Us 2 and then a new IP.
Fully agree.'I'm kind of tired of this argument playing out in every Uncharted thread. That was ND's second team that did TLOU though.
Of course you couldn't argue it has been too soon in todays world of annualized franchises. But never is there a bad time for something new and original, especially from people as talented as ND.
Will take a lot for me to ever be tired of the Uncharted series. There are just so many great things for Nathan Drake to do and locations for him to venture.

Great post Kev. The vocal minority on here concerning the Uncharted series is getting as loud and annoying as the one for MGS4.
But they just made a new IP this year. I've said it before and i'll say it again, i've never seen a studio that's expected to churn out new IP's as much as ND is. How many single studios can say that they created two successful IP's this gen?
The Last chapter of Uncharted 4, Drake will enter a Pyramid, find some treasure, however once he pulled the treasure out he didn't know it was actually a lever. The Pyramid turns out to be a spaceship, and in the last chapter you fly into space battling aliens.

Also UC is a 3rd person shooter not a platformer when are people going to understand that?
If it is the same mechanic from the last 3 games then yes.
If they could open up the maps a lot more, take away the yellow ledges that would be a start. It doesn't have to become MGS5 in its openness but that is a good place to take a look.
The hell, why must we all be in agreement?
This is going to completely overshadow The Order if it gets announced any time soon. Don't do that. I like RaD.
Again what is this obsession with big open maps or worlds? If it is the same mechanic from the last 3 games then yes.

I imagine UC4, new IP, TLOU2. We have reason to believe the new IP is in work, right?
ND don't listen to the haters. Whatever you guys are working on, it's a day one buy for me!!

It doesn't feel half assed to me, it works well with the shooting. When a game is roughly 30% platforming then I expect some actual platforming and not hold up to win. The "not a platformer" excuse doesn't mean anything when there's that much platforming in the games. If devs are going to keep merging genres together then they need to stop half-assing major elements from those genres.
btw, why are people so convinced whatever game ND is doing will be out for Fall 2014? I still think it'd be for 2015. either The Order will take the Fall 2014 spot, or SSM Stig game, it's been ages since Stig finished with GoW3

Everyone complaining will buy the next Uncharted, especially if its close to U2's level of quality.
The hell, why must we all be in agreement?
Uncharted 4 releasing Fall 2014 taking full advantage of next-gen tech would sell a shit ton of ps4s, Sony would be stupid not to do it.
They also need a strong franchise to counter Halo 5 which should also be releasing Holiday 2014.
