I doubt a third party developer is going to say one system is better than the other. They are going to say we are excited to develop for both consoles and harness next gen power.
I can imagine it being no bigger than 360 slim, but I don't really know. What's the minimum size for the box that's gonna be built around those specs?
EDIT: Also, Proelite has refereed to it as a data mover engine. Just call it that. I'm fine with that.
RSX was weaker than the Xenos. The CPU on the PS3 did the heavy lifting.
Crazy huh? Wizard Jizz and all that jazz.
LMAO!
You hear that guys. He is fine with the data mover name. So we all have to use that now. We will PM you next time to get your ok on any future nick names used here.

Well by E3 we'll see how much of a reach it is.
Until then... It's Xbox 1.5 Part 2.

The obsession some have in mocking "special sauce" is getting a little desperate.
I mean how much can it really bother you? It's just a nickname for a couple of units that are going to be assisting the GPU.
How many times do you make fun of it until it starts looking off on you?
LMAO what?
Not that your nickname doesn't represent what I'm trying to explain, but "Laughing My Ass Off" and that's it, is just childish in this context.
But when you allude a fondness to a talented pianist, that has a place in history, you are telling me the opposite. So why the childish remark, that adds absolutely 0 aside from the possibility that you might be "poking" at other posters.
It's so devoid of any meaningful participation, it's...again, childish.
I'm mocking the neutral facade third party developers hide behind when faced with comparison questions. For all we know, Durango could very well steal the show. Still, interviewees woud throw those blanket statements at you!
In fact, if I were to speculate about what drives Durango, not only would I go with the extra logic, but I'd wager that the GPU of the machine had been well customized, contrary to Orbis's.
IDK, if its not a compute unit, I can't see how its magically supposed to "even the playing field". Bandwidth on this spec sheet is a issue so if it remedies that, its wonderful. It still doesn't account for what could be a teraflop raw power advantage for PS4 though.
You seem afraid that the 720 might be equal to the PS4. Why does it upset you so much?
LMAO what?

I don't think the teraflops on either Orbis or Durango will be precise in accurately measuring their power.
Name is silly and I call it "secret cum bucket".
On the serious note, the only ting that annoys me is that those that overhype special sauce in nexbox, completly ignore secret sauce in the PS4. Just because you know it's sony, and on the other side it's wizzard MS
LMAO nothing. Just LMAO!
Oh boy... LMAO!
My dude, relax, it's not that serious.
I agree with that. But that goes both ways. Do you really believe that it's more reasonable to expect Sony to completely overpower MS by a great am mount, or that MS will at least try and get a system to perform at something at least close to Sony's system?
In terms of plausibility and real world scenarios, it stands to reason that in the business world MS would have nothing to gain by allowing such a discrepancy in power when they have never done so.
On the flipside, people try to hard to say there is no "special sauce" for Durango and say to wait for the "special sauce" in Orbis.Name is silly and I call it "secret cum bucket".

Huh?...
This thread is going places. Next thing you know, Sony will be blamed when the concocted 1 TF advantage is nowhere to be found! Haha!
Few pages before.Who is saying that?

Perhaps MS aren't concerned with power and are sacrificing for something else? Nah.

When Sony does it then it is great technology. When Microsoft does it then it is Magic of and we are all pretending.

I get it, it's funny. It's ok.
I am relaxed. I'm communicating thoughts and ideas. What's up with people always thinking other people on the internet are stressed out? I'm using well thought out ideas, I'm not name calling people or writing angry.
Have you read the PS4 leak or....
How isn't it plausible. Have you seen or heard PR at all from MS in the previous couple years? It's quite clear they are after more than gaming with Xbox.Well, but that theory holds as much water as "Sony has no money to spend right now, so they are going to play it safe".
It's not very plausible, even if some would really wish it so.
Who said the consoles are a 'wash'?
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=46551080#post46551080In my opinion both machines will be very close, with some details in favor for each one, but I think we will have a ps360 situation again with 2 machines very close.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=46680756#post46680756You have nothing to worry about. This machine was designed by the people who made Direct X. They chose hardware for very specific reasons. You will see in the few months ahead why.
AND- cut the shit that it is weaker. It is comparable, and has a different skill set. It is like asking a Japanese Chef and an Italian Chef to make a Burrito using what is in their own kitchen. It's not apples to apples.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=46610920&postcount=1458I speak with Proelite on a daily basis. His view is that its mostly a wash. Different engines will shine on different platforms.
Before I was set straight about the teraflop comparison not working, yes. You need very powerful PC hardware to do what Durango (and Orbis) are doing. In fact, the devkits for Orbis and Durango are very, very similar.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=46705739#post46705739Ding ding ding ding. Fanboys eat your heart out.
That was in 2005 and nobody in there right mind believed them. This is 2013 where it's highly plausible.Well, Sony also said the PS3 would be 2 TFs so forgive me if I am going to wait for the games. Which will end up looking nearly identical.
Such pointless bickering pertaining to "Secret sauce". A term coined to make promises based on technology that no one in the industry who isn't an engineer at AMD, Sony or MS (who are mum), can with specificity and unequivocal correctness, explain the function of these "secret sauces" in both systems. It has now come to the point where perceived superiority of a given console is dependent upon how powerful or revolutionary this "secret sauce" is instead of the rumoured "known" quantities. Yes, a secret within a secret will determine your champion.
You could say the same about this gen consoles, but people still look for small differences. I think next gen consoles (if these specs are in fact 100% held in place) could result in even more differences than this gen. X3 will have at least 50% more memory (if 3GB OS rumor is true, so likely more than 50% really), which could result in more high resolution textures and less loading, and PS4 50% faster GPU and faster memory which could result in better framerates - then each has some special (but different) extra computing hardware. Should be interesting/fun, IMO. I like that each seems to have something above the other, that exclusive games especially could target.Depends on the developer.
Itagaki, Yu Suzuki, Hideo Kojima... etc
Ilhere pretty much said both consoles are a wash. I don't know how hard that is to understand.
Sony's thing is a compute unit. IMO, that's pretty easy to explain, if the rumor about it is true in the first place. Think of something that for example calculates physics while CPU and GPU are free to do anything else.Such pointless bickering pertaining to "Secret sauce". The benefits and advantages of Cell were pretty quantifiable
I have been saying all the time that I am not buying that nextbox is weaker then PS4 and that actually I still expect it to be stronger. I don't think these specs are 100%.
That said I just get annoyed by people ignoring and spinning things. Like Aegis and these other pro xbox guys are doing. MS is so amazing that secret cum bucket will turn 1.2tflops into 2.5tflops hahah sorry I just have to make fun of it all.
Both have secrets and both will be great, I still expect nextbox to be a bit stronger. Just a feeling I have.

Well I never took it that way, my conclusion always was "the tflop" numbers don't tell you the whole picture, and the memory design will greatly impact the differences these systems have.
But I can understand, when something isn't explained and it's based on other's words, it can get frustrating.
It's always about context, I think a some peeps are getting a lot of trash and when you really look at it, the greatest sin they are committing is not saying that Orbis will be more powerful and will have everything Durango has of worth, and more.
But that's me. That's what I drew from those "situations".
Not up until the second wave of first party games.

What? If anything, they all are trying to make it seem as if that "special sauce" (ugh) is going to create a supercomputer out of Durango. If we're judging by these specs, no special sauce is going to make Durango more powerful than Orbis, whoever cares about that.

If not secret sauce it will move on to Dev tools. Guarantee it.
YeahI think you got your sauces mixed up, Durango's is a special sauce, while Orbis' insides are to be served in a secret sauce.
Personally I find the advantages of Cell apparent even today. You only need look at the first party titles Sony has. Even older ones such as KZ2, GOW3, Uncharted 2 etc, doing some unbelievable things so early on. And then you look forward to TLoU, GOWA etc...
Bare in mind the PS3 has always had a ram deficit compared to the 360 (larger OS footprint), and development slides from key devs do show that Cell plated a pivotal role it getting these games to look and run as they do.
