I'm good to go!!
I think?
920 is several generations behind the 3**** listed in the specs.
....But, still most likely good to go.

At stock 2.66 im not so sure920 is several generations behind the 3**** listed in the specs.

I somehow think my i5 2500k at 4.5ghz is gonna be alright
that said, it's probably terribly optimized in the CPU department, like asscreed

Fuck, is this going to be a trend, I bought a i5 4670k due to recommendation that it should be future proof for the PS4 generation, if I had known 8 core is going to be a standard I would have bought a different CPU.
If this is a big deal, then how divided will you be over Division's recommended specs?
I have to think they're full of shit unless this is the most unoptimized pile of shit they've ever crapped out.Dang. I was hoping my 760 and i5-3570k would be fine, but i may have to give the game a pass if it needs an i7.
Freaking out is so much more popular than remaining calm. On may 27th people will forget about CPU's and tallk about video cards. Open world titles like CPU's but they love video cards.
Before you do, just remember all the hype we got from ubi over how awesome Anvil was going to be before AC3 came out.
Honestly I'd advise against ever preordering an Ubisoft AAA game on PC. Their tech is just too fiddly on PC.
Can I download another core?
Seriously, wow. Thats insane. I wish I had an 8-core i7 pc

Does ACIV not run great on PC ?. What specs do you need to get it looking like the PS4 version and 1080p but at 60fps ?.
Calling bullshit. If this fucking game isn't going to make use of Win8.1 / DirectX 11.2 features for multi-threaded optimization like BF4(sorry for the vague explanation, I can't remember what exactly they used in Dx11.2 to increase CPU performance), and still requires an 8-Core and then runs like a piece of shit, then thats fucking it! This will be my last UbiSoft game, not even The Division will make me break this promise!
So this basically 110% confirms an unoptimized PC port.

Not sure what we'll get.Doesn't Ubi usually far overshoot the reccomended specs though?

Is this game going to be another GTA 4?
4670K with R9 270 is a bit of a mismatch imo, you will be GPU-limited more likely.Since we're all asking, what are my fps looking like with this setup:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($198.69)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (Purchased For $36.00)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($108.69)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For $50.00)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB Video Card (Purchased For $162.00)
Case: Thermaltake VM30001W2Z ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For $0.00)
Power Supply: SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $50.00)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer (Purchased For $0.00)
Total: $605.38
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
GTA 5 will be.

Especially with the delay. They could have used the time to optimize the game. Hoping to get 60fps with a 670/i5-3570k. Hate playing at 40 fps ruins the immersion by a lot.Oh PC gets the "we didn't have enough time to optimize this one" edition again. Joy.
Normally I would be on board with saying it is down to poor PC optimization by Ubi, but this game had been in development using PC hardware since long before they would have even had dev kits for the new consoles. Everything points to this game being built from the ground up on the PC and ported to the consoles as their specs came out, not the other way around.
"When we started developing, the PS3 existed, the Xbox 360 existed, and we kind of suspected, maybe, there might be other platforms eventually," [Dominic Guay] said. "So, because we thought that would happen we chose the PC as our first target to have when we started developing Watch Dogs so that we have the flexibility to adapt to a different platform. So we were able to support 360 and PS3, but we could scale up with other platforms and to other video in the meantime, which we now know is the case. So PC has always been around for us. Sometimes it's a last-minute port of sorts. For us, it's been around since we started."
Development shifted to the next-gen consoles once the PS4 and Xbox One were announced, and then in the last eight months or so a dedicated team returned to the PC to hammer out the final details of that platform's version of the game, he said.
It's NOT going to look like the 2012 E3 Reveal on a beefy PC and I highly doubt it'll be optimized well either. That article made it quite clear their focus is on consoles. Everything in the article discussion PC is typical PR spin.
I knew my 2500K wasn't "fine".

Can we update the thread title "8 Core AMD or 4 Core Intel CPU recommended"?
Except that's not true at all. Read between the lines here from this Polygon article. The emphasized part at the end is most important:
Guay is admitting they started development on PC, shifted to next gen platforms when they got the next gen devkits, then went back to PC after nearing completion of the next gen versions. They didn't complete the game on PC first then port it to next gen, they completely shifted focus then came back to PC later.

Yeah your comment makes a whole lot of sense considering the game was made with PC as the lead platform. The recommended specs don't mean shit. Wait until the fuckibg game is out. Is that so difficult?
