I joined GAF in either 2000-2002. Don't remember the exact year but I remember it was sometime after Headhunter on Dreamcast was announced and when the game actually released.

mashoutposse pointed me toward the site as I had been slumming in on other forums.

I finally remembered to check mine, and it's 2388. So I guess I am old.

Holy shit at yours.

I remember the day the old forum shut down and we transitioned into the new one we have now, the admin team gave a few random people admin powers for like 1 hour since the old forum would seize to the exist. I wanna say Olimario was one of those people. But basically, those people just started spamming the shit out of the old GA with porn. Hahahaha

AlteredBeast

Fork 'em, Sparky!
I was in Peru when the switch went down and the mod team was nice enough to bump someone who had registered my name and give me AlteredBeast back. Lol

When the switch went down I was asleep, didn't find out til I hopped on IRC at work, so I'm 1117.

Somewhere I have a folder of random photoshops people did from back then. Olimario as a baby with pikmin falling out of his mouth and TheBlackStallion being taken out by Solid Snake or something, I forget. I wonder where I put those?

I actually missed a month or so, since I didn't know where the new forum was. I just thought it was gone, I didn't realize it sprouted elsewhere at first.

I can't believe I've been coming here for over 10 years, but I can't post fast enough to keep up with things anymore.

I definitely had my console warrior phase... I slightly miss animated gif avatars. Wish I had time to contribute more :)

Reminds me that I started at the old Cloudchaser/Xengen forums and came here. It's been almost 14 years.

GAF- should I be proud or cry myself to sleep?

Speedpop: Yeah, but if they really want it, they can get it. Partnership won't be exclusive IMO, unless it's stated...

Also, that list is too current. If you were to look up the acts they had in 89-95, there would be much more hip-hop/gangsta rap tracks.

Who is this person, some sort of admin? User #1

There was an interview with SolidSnakex and some other prominent posters at gaming-age.com
Does anyone remember that? I can't find links now.

Thing is - a lot of us have been here before the move to the new forum. The user id number only tells you the registration order for this new board. Of course, active people from the old board would move over to this new one right away, so our numbers are going to be low, but it won't tell you how long anyone's been on the older board.

I am well aware. I was on the old forum at least as early at Summer of 99 and maybe back to 98. Definitely before I bought my Dreamcast.

I imagine the bulk of the first few thousand users were migrants from the old forum.

I was around in 1998-99 until late 2003, when I wound up taking a break from the forum following a move. I think I missed the migration itself, and didn't finally wind up registering again until 2006. Been back ever since.
