Just show us some damn gameplay will ya? game is out in a rough 7 weeks ant all we've seen some cut bits of gameplay. Given that this IP is not crazy popular, I find marketing company terrible.

With the mediocre and lukewarm reception of the first game, I don't see why there would be hype around the sequel. If it reviews good and sells good, The hype will be there for a 3rd game.

Bethesda didn't show too much about any of their current games tbh,the new dishonored game is coming out of this month and they didn't show anything afaik.
Wasn't there a demo of TEW2 available for this event though? or was it only for gaming press?

first game under-performed so it's not surprising to see interest level for the 2nd not all that high...

I've read from a recent thread that it sold like 5 million copies. Can anyone confirm/debunk this?

There's some previews showing up today. Here's an interesting one from RPS.

And this quote is really something.

"Consider yourself warned though: this is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever seen (and with plenty of PC-specific bells and whistles), but it’s also one of the ugliest."

Can we stop spinning some peoples thoughts on the game being lukewarm, mediocre, and not selling well. It did rather well, its got a fairly good fan base, and lots were excited about the reveal trailer. It's a divisive game sure enough.

The Evil Within 1 sold over 5 million copies at this point and over 2 million copies when it first launched, fyi for anyone interested. It definitely did not underperform.

It's a sequel to a pretty lackluster game imo. Especially storywise. People don't have anything to grasp onto because the protagonist isn't much of a character and the story of the first one was super vague with not enough pieces to put the puzzle together. They don't really have much of a hook to sell this game on other than gameplay which seems pretty standard. Wolfenstein at least has a tangible and well executed alternate history world and gameplay looks solid. It looks like a cohesive package. TEW and this one continues to look like a hodgepodge of edgy Hellraiser art with no clear direction.

TEW1 had many problems. I loved/hated it and felt it was a mix of 9/10 or even 10/10 parts mixed with way too many 1/10 parts that should have been cut out, but I didn't think story was a problem at all. It was an interesting story and I liked how it was presented. That, the atmosphere, and the combat moments that really clicked and were RE4-2 were all awesome. But yeah, way too much bullshit shitty designed stuff that felt like Mikami badly needed an editor. It was a very frustrating experience.

I kinda agree with the monkey gif poster. I'm willing to give Tango/Mikami one more shot with TEW2, but if it's just as much of a clusterfuck of amazing and terrible game design moments, I'm done with Tango. Before TEW I felt that every Mikami game was near-perfect from Vanquish to RE to PN.03, so I was hoping TEW1 was just a one time miss.
