Wkd BO 0811-1317 - Annabelle conjures up #1, Dark Tower Falls

We only mock out of appreciation.

Nah, I don't think people mock out of appreciation.

They appreciate that the thread is started. They appreciate the consistency of the thread.

A lot of the mocking is just flat-out mocking though.

But again: it's a thread title. The threads have been getting huger and huger over the past couple years despite the thread titles, so obviously they're not that much of a hindrance.

but they're also being mocked honestly in a lot of cases.

look, I have CONSISTENTLY made these threads for almost (over?) 10 years, barring a few bans or work/family related instances where I have asked someone to pitch hit. I started this back when no one gave a flying fuck about weekend box office. And for years I would tell peeps to pm me thread titles or whatever if they wanted to participate. It's all good. But no one cared. Ever. So whatever. I kept at it by myself coming up with a new thread title every week w/o fail. Sometimes I would take a comment someone made that I found interesting or funny and use that. Regardless of the shit I would get.

now, if y'all want to take the reins/responsibility of these threads now that it's a hot/popular topic be my guest and good luck. LOL

how about this: I will take a break from making these threads for a month. And y'all can do whatever you like. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No don't do that. Take a break for a week.

correct about everything
Although when this was a thread that 5 people posted in and it sank to the second or third page by Tuesday, incomprehensible and/or plain old dogshit thread titles from a guy who hasnt' really participated in the discussions he starts ever (and whose forum tag is a pre-cum joke) isn't that weird.

When the Box-Office thread is now consistently pulling 200-300k views and hitting 30-40 pages and is usually on the front page, if not in the top 20 threads at almost every time of the day, it's a bit of a different situation to have one of the most popular/friendly sub-communities on the board wearing one of the most consistently ugly/off-putting titles week-in/week-out.

I mean, I can see the argument.

But then again - it's just a thread title, I guess.

pretty low to be critical of someone's tag here if you do not know how they earned it.

xaosslug is a godtier poster.

You want to come at Xaoss, you have to go through me. Step back, fools!

I like that you read the name as Xaosss Lug

It's Star Wars-y

xaosslug is a godtier poster.

It's never been a crit of Xaos at all. I don't even see how you're getting that. Someone hung that tag on him and a whole bunch of other someones kept it there all these years. It's weird.

especially if he's a godtier poster.

I like these threads.

And I like their titles.

They're ridiculous and that's the way I like it.

Keep doing what you're doing xaosslug.

you said it's not surprising to get dogshit thread titles from someone whose tag is a precum joke. unless he chose that tag, and you're aware of it, you're being a wanker.

I like the thread titles. I always thought they were an homage to the crazy headlines the trades come up with.

The precum joke was in a parenthetical. I didn't say it was his fault. The combination of the two doesn't help, but that's not his fault. I've never blamed him for his nasty fuckin old-ass tag - which is a weird/interesting reward for being God Tier, btw.

Imagine if Sunhi Legend's tag was "Bleached puckers of the righteous shall blot out the sun" or whatever.

And to be clear again: This is the third time I've said they're just thread titles. I could see the argument for their not being so obnoxious, but it's also not really that big a deal, and I've pointed out why it's not that big a deal too.

I didn't comment on the title at all in my first post, I just started talking about box office.

Seems we got an inverted Pirates/Transformers sequel (barring TLK) situation for The Emoji Movie. Film looks set to make back its production budget domestically ($63M), but worldwide audiences seem to have little interest in it whatsoever ($14M). Unless it hasn't opened in other major territories yet, and/or I'm missing something else.

And don't worry xaos, I appreciate your thread titles XD.

Between the Conjuring-verse, the DCEU and Potter spinoffs, WB is eating pretty well these next few years.

GOOD!

Dont forget lego cinematic universe!

So WB has

DCEU
Harry Potter universe
Conjuring universe
Lego cinematic universe
Godzilla/kong shared universe

It still aint what disney has, but we eatin'

After Batman's returns lets hold off on the Lego Cinematic Universe as a guarantee.

Although Batman Lego was profitable, and home video's year-end receipts should be decent as well

Random Human

They were trying to grab your prize. They work for the mercenary. The masked man.
I didn't realize the box office thread titles were controversial. They seemed like a funny neogaf tradition.

That Ninjago movie actually looks pretty funny. I don't know what the fuck a Ninjago is but I was expecting direct to video quality and it actually looked promising.

They need to step it up with the Monster-verse, those movies should be preforming way stronger. People love disaster porn films.

We'll see about the future of the Lego films. I bet Ninjago will do significantly worse than Lego Batman but I have no idea what the budget is nor what WB's expectations are. But I'd sacrifice ten Suicide Squad sequels for a Lego Justice League movie.

So WB has

DCEU
Harry Potter universe
Conjuring universe
Lego cinematic universe
Godzilla/kong shared universe

They should do a WB Cinematic Universes Cinematic Universe. Starting With Lego Godzilla vs Patrick Wilson.

Girls Trip is the MVP of the summer. In a year where comedies was falling on their face one after another, they came in and showed how it is done.

WB also has Christopher Nolan. They'll keep him happy at all costs.

And one day they'll try and bring back The Matrix.

Noooooo please stay! I don't post in these threads but I always look forward to the titles every time!

The articles title is misleading because you'd assume that Dunkirk has taken a steep Dunkirk, in reality it's been doing excellent business. Mind you WB is probably overestimating it, thanks Game of Thrones.

Ninjago may do less then 100m, especially if the reviews aren't there. Each Lego film aside from The Lego Movie 2, will make less because WB is pumping these film out way too soon.

I also know someone on another forum who will lose their mind if Ninjango goes under 100m, ha.

I see Lego Ninjago as better property than Lego Batman. What I mean is, the Ninjago is Lego's biggest property and it has tons of fans. I see it doing great at the box office AND at home video sales. Plus the merchandise.

And I don't want to here that way too some talk when 3 Marvel movies came out this year.

It's so weird seeing the box office thread devoid of Disney flicks (although I suppose Spider-Man sort of counts on a technicality).
