Snap Mode for Achievements
  • An easier way to track and view your achievements progress in real time without ever
    leaving the game.
  • ‘Search for Achievement Help’ on any Achievements you’re struggling with. This will launch
Internet Explorer for you and deliver relevant tips and strategy content based on the
    Achievement you are working on.
Double-tap to Snap
  • Double-tap the Xbox button on your controller to bring up Snap Center, where you can launch
Achievements or any other snap-able app, without leaving your current experience.
  • If you already have an app snapped, double-tap quickly switches between your game and the
    snapped app.
Choice of Spoken Language
  • Xbox One owners can now choose their preferred Spoken Language in settings to enable better
voice control compatibility. This is in addition to the Country selection used to access the Xbox
store. For example, someone living in the United States who has an Australian accent may now
choose English (Australia) for voice control while still having United States selected for Country location.
Future Digital Bundles and Compilation Discs
  • Add the functionality for content publishers to create digital bundle and disc compilation offerings in the future.
‘Like’ Game DVR clips
  • The added ability to ‘Like’ Game DVR clips and activity feed items from within SmartGlass.
Blu-Ray Player improvements
  • The Xbox One Console now supports BD-R/BD-RE.
Xbox 360

Couldn't think of a catchy title.
And first week is a bunch of Arcade sales.
There is also some Black Flag content on sale.

what a barren month.

I never understood why publishers want to reserve their release dates to Fall, letting Summer totally barren. I would buy anything they give me now, but on October, with a huge offering, I will be more selective.

Yeah it's pretty stupid, Watch Dogs and Titanfall are my only AAA games i've played this year, fall is full of great games and summer is empty. Frustrating.

I can understand why people think this is a bad time for gaming (I guess they think everyone should be at summer camps and hanging at the beach?), but I never understand why publishers don't just make games that'll release now, and then get "re-released" over the fall. Similar to the way PvZ: Garden Warfare has managed to give itself that "new game smell" with it's weighty free DLC. The big hit of the summer becomes a value-packed stocking stuffer by years end, and everyone ends up happy!

This seems like a pretty good time for Pier Solar to hit. I'd love to see Legend of Raven myself, but Nicalis is much too quiet with their release plans. :/

This is why I loved Summer of Arcade :( It was a great way to push smaller releases into the public's eyes, while there was little else to buy....

...And then once people got their hands on the games, they found them to be as engrossing and worthy of their time as anything else they'd be likely to purchase.

It feels really weird not to have SoA to look forward to on the Xbox Systems.

Looks like just Guacamelee and Magic for me this month. I'd imagine we will get a few indie titles also, most likely Pier Solar HD, and Nutjitsu/1001 Spikes for other regions other than US.

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
I am waiting for Deals with Gold they will announce today for this week. Hopefully we get some more than 1 game today on Xbox One.

Will probably buy Magic and download Guacamelee of course, but that's about it for me this month.

Has the pricing for Magic been announced?

I hope I can blast through these three recently released downloadable titles and then finally catch up on some 360 backloggery.

A little off-topic but is anyone annoyed that there are suddenly new challenge achievements on Max Curse Of Brotherhood? There was no warning. I was just randomly viewing my achievements and then bam, I thought "Huh? That's not right. I already earned every challenge achievement in this game".

I did a little bit of shameful grinding and now I have only three left in Max: Beat 10 levels without dying, Beat all levels without dying, and Collect all evil eyes. I won't bother with the first two. But the last one is glitched. I collected all evil eyes a loooong time ago and it hasn't unlocked. Hopefully Press Play fixes that.

As always I will try to keep this up to date. Left the op a little blank because there wasn't alot of good image material, and something will probably stealth drop.

I'll echo the summer drought feeling. A steady release is easier to plan purchases. When there are few games available I may pick something up. When there are a ton of games, I have to be more selective.

And Forza is the first GOTY title for next Gen.

I'm going to be honest and say I was a bit peeved when I saw it. Not that it's a huge issues i nthe grand scheme of things, but I was pretty happy I had collected everything in Max and got every achievement/challenge before they expired.

Now, for Multiplayer games, or games with replay value such as Kinect Sports, AC, ect, I am fully behind them adding challenges as the weeks go on, but for a single player game with no replay value once you have done everything, adding challenges to Max is pretty lame. I get that they wanted to add challenges because the game went free and they wanted to give all the new owners some new challenges, but for the people who already beat it it sucks.

By replaying the last level you can unlock a few, but like there's also one for collecting all the eyes (which I already did way back when) that apparently won't unlock unless I go through the game all over again and collect every one. Why would I want to do that when I already have?

Will probably buy Magic and download Guacamelee of course, but that's about it for me this month.

Has the pricing for Magic been announced?

I'm going to make an educated guess of $15

It looks like Guacamelee is free to claim on the 360 right now, at least through the Web store. Not sure if this is a mistake or a surprise.

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
I haven't played From Dust, is it good for that cheap? What about I Am Alive?

for that price, go for it. fun little game that didnt quite live up to my expectations

Added. I either missed it, or it wasn't on the XBLA page when I updated.
Also, the Season Pass for AC4 is supposed to be on sale, but isn't showing for me.

Nice, didn't realize Magic had gotten a release date. Looking forward to that.

Seems like a fairly lackluster month at first glance but Guacamelee, Magic and the Destiny beta will keep me busy for most of it.

Has the pricing for Magic been announced?

It's up for pre-purchase on Steam for $10. Hopefully that price will apply to the Xbox One version as well. There's also a complete bundle listed on Steam that seems to include some bonus cards for $35 but I have no clue if they'll offer that on other platforms.

This is the first summer in over 5 years without the summer of arcade and I hope it's the last. That was one of Microsoft's most influential and unique additions to console gaming. To not continue that tradition would be an oversight on the Xbox team's behalf.

Hoping Magic is only $10. Between that, Guacamelee and now Snap Achievement tracking, I've got a lot of retro-gaming clean-up to do!

Also, the math is all messed up on the platforms for certain sales.

AC4 - Guild of Rogues (Xbox One) = $1.99
AC4 - Guild of Rogues (Xbox 360) = $2.09

I was wondering if Magic would go F2P this year to try and follow Heartstone model. Guess not though since it's up for $10 on steam.

Grabbed what? The game is not even out yet. Not on the web store. You guys downloaded the video.

Sure that isn't the video? The webstore has no game listed for me.

ermmm, yea, it's just a video. My bad haha. It didn't say trailer, so I just assumed it was the game.

EDIT: It always throws me off when it just says the name of the game. Sometimes the only place to see if it's a trailer, dlc, etc, is by looking at the icon.

So, heres something weird... I tried to get Guacamelee STCE via Xbox.com and it worked but when I went to pay it said I could use the money in the Microsoft account (£17~)

When I did a double check (clicked on I am Alive as it was a cheap and if I accidentally bought it I would mind) and it was back to credit card...
