I am getting the crackling audio issue with the latest update. It is pretty annoying. Tried the power cycling and still occurs. Hope there is hotfix real soon.

Are you on 1409?

A system update is being released for you to preview beginning today, 8/17/2014, after 1:00pm PDT. This update contains a number of fixes for issues the community has observed, such as slow connection speeds via Wi-fi and audio popping/distortion using the LiveTV app.




HOW TO GET IT
◾If your console is in Instant-On mode, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.
◾NOTE: Once the update is available, you can manually begin the update by navigating to Settings > System and selecting System Update.

◾If your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 1:00AM PDT 8/19/2014, you will be prompted to do so the next time you start your console.

OS version released: xb_rel_1409.140815-2200
Available: 1PM PDT 8/17 (9PM GMT 8/17)



Fixes in this update:
◾Wi-fi connection issues: This update has a fix for slow connection speeds over wi-fi, along with excessive lag.
◾Audio popping/distortion issues with LiveTV: This issue is resolved in this update.





KNOWN ISSUES
◾We've received some reports of apps failing to launch, sometimes combined with the console becoming unresponsive. We are still investigating this issue. If you encounter this, please use the Feedback app as soon as your console restarts. To use the Feedback app: ◾Press and hold the Xbox button until the Power Center appears, then press Y
◾If you haven't yet installed the Feedback app, launch the Xbox Preview Dashboard app and use Report a problem. This will direct you to install the app.


◾Tell us what happened, then submit your issue.

Has anybody been experiencing alot of lockups or the dashboard becoming incredibly unresponsive with the 1409 update?
It seems to lockups after I've been playing games for a while and then start to watch TV.
