Spiegel said:Yeah, and the source for japanese sales is a third party tracker. That's why we know the graphs are wrong.
The source here is "Nintendo".
I mean, I'm pretty sure the Wii was the best selling console in December and outsold the PS3 and the 360 by many units. I should've said that we can't take this info as the absolute truth and count pixels to know the exact sales like people always do when these graphs come out.

UK CHARTS: Mass Effect 2 shoots to No.1
Mass Effect 2 is this week's UK No.1
According to GfK Chart-Track data for the week ending January 30th, the PC/360 title was the best-selling game, knocking two-week champion Just Dance from the top.
Mass Effect 2 had, according to EA, debuted with 2m units sold - the game has been praised by the specialist press.
Sony's PS3 shooter MAG also made an impressive debut, appearing at No.4 in the chart in its first week.
Elsewhere, Just Dance holds on to second, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The rest of the top ten is made up of familiar faces, with Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, FIFA 10, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Army of Two: The 40th Day and James Cameron's Avatar all present.
The full top ten is as follows:
1. MASS EFFECT 2 (ELECTRONIC ARTS)
2. JUST DANCE (UBISOFT)
3. CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 2 (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD)
4. MAG (SONY)
5. WII SPORTS RESORT (NINTENDO)
6. WII FIT PLUS (NINTENDO)
7. FIFA 10 (ELECTRONIC ARTS)
8. NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. WII (NINTENDO)
9. ARMY OF TWO: THE 40TH DAY (ELECTRONIC ARTS)
10. JAMES CAMERON'S AVATAR: THE GAME (UBISOFT)
EA score their first chart topper of the year on the Entertainment Software (All Prices) Top 40 as ‘Mass Effect 2’ is comfortably No1, debuting on Xbox 360 & PC.
Original ‘Mass Effect’ (highest chart position on this chart No12) was a staged release having debuted in week 47, 2007 on Xbox 360 (at No2 on the Xbox 360 Full Price Chart, held off by the 2nd week of Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and then in week 23, 2008 on PC (again No2, held off by a 3rd consecutive week for Eidos’ ‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’. Sales of ‘Mass Effect 2’ on Xbox 360 are almost double that achieved first time round and three times higher on PC. Ubisoft’s Wii ‘Just Dance’ only drops to No2 and actually enjoys a sales increase of 16% over last week. Activision take No3 with ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ (-3%) – 12 weeks and counting and it is yet to drop out of the Top 3. Sony take the only other new entry this week at No4 with ‘MAG’, short for ‘Massive Action Game’ on PS3 – an online-only FPS from Zipper Interactive, best known for a long line of PS2 SOCOM: US Navy Seals games.
Elsewhere within the Entertainment Software Chart there is nothing new to report with the usual protagonists jostling for position within the rest of the Top 10.
Garjon said:Surprised by MAG being up there. I haven't played ME2, but if it's anything like how many of my mates have described, it fully deserves it.
Also, could Just Dance be 2010's Carnival Games? And colour me surprised at the lack of Mario and Sonic at the Winter Games.
Really? I haven't seen a single advert for it so far...NemesisPrime said:Indeed... I didn't even expect it to show up in top 20. All those ads worked... good news for Sony. Means that the PS3 owners are willing to pick up lesser (as in unknown not bad just FYI) games.

Neither did Darksiders. Also, is the PS3 GTA4 on special offer somewhere.BattleMonkey said:Bayonetta didn't last long.

Quite good opening for MAG there, I think Sony may be happy with that. And Mario Kart DS? Talk about legs!

Mass Effect 2 tops an unchanged Top 3 this week, despite a sales drop of 64% putting it within touching distance of Just Dance (-26%) at No2.
Ubisofts dancing game was only 850 sales away from regaining No1, but still remains ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (-12%) which just holds on to No3 in the face of competition from EAs new release Dantes Inferno, debuting at No4. EAs new IP is only a tiny number of sales away from dislodging Call of Duty at No3, but EA can claim 3 games in the Top 5 as FIFA 10 (+26%) jumps 2 places to No5. The rest of the All Formats Top 10 shuffle places amongst themselves with Nintendos highest charting title Wii Sports Resort (-18%) down one place to No6, ahead of Sonys PS3-exclusive MAG (-46%) down 3 places to No7, in its second week of release. Nintendo still manage 3 games in the Top 10 as New Super Mario Bros. Wii (-14%) holds on to No8 while Wii Fit Plus (-36%) shows signs of flagging, down 3 places to No9. James Camerons Avatar: The Game (-12%) rounds off the Top 10, a non-mover at No10 with FIFA 10 the only Top 10 game to gain sales this week.
Atari/Namco Bandai Games fail to break into the Top 10 as Star Trek Online beams in at No11, ahead of new releases from THQ with MX Vs ATV Reflex at No18 and EA with the latest Sims add-on The Sims 3: Design & High Tech Stuff at No20.
