Kobayashi-san chi no Maid Dragon ch42

Kobayashi sure is brave to just eat whatever Tooru gives her, even when sick.

Yuzumori-san ch16.2

I guess there are worse things to fill one's heart with than bad puns.

Shoujo Shikkaku ch5

So, they're survivors. Kinda explains why she knows so much about it.

uh not sure where exactly to ask this but it's been bothering me. can someone explain this or clear this up for me please. no fancy explanation needed

Watched OPM anime last year and just started Mob Psycho 100 and did some googling for reference. i don't actually read the series son no random spoiler please

A guy with the alias ONE made One Punch Man in 2009 as a comic web series and allowed someone else to write the shonen version? if so why?

does he still write the web comic?
is the mangas material one to one of the comic version or is original?
is opm web comic ( if still written) way ahead of the manga?
i subscribe to viz shonen and even tho i don't read OPM, I do see the chapters go by .1s sometimes, is that just part of the goofiness? (so technically the series is in the hundreds, i'm guessing)

mob psycho 100 is published on a sunday magazine and he's credited as the ( not some other dude) mangaka, does that mean MP100 was never a web comic like OPM?

does he work on both at the same time (if he still writes web comic)? web comic and weekly magazine

Yes, he does both still, it's just that OPM is released very randomly - like a few pages every couple months. Manga follows the comic for the most part but there's a lot of extra stuff and "filler".

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
A guy with the alias ONE made One Punch Man in 2009 as a comic web series and allowed someone else to write the shonen version? if so why?
Yes, and no. He didn't "allow" so much as publishers came to him with this offer of redrawing and republishing OPM at a higher quality. He's a fan of the redrawer (Yusuke Murata) and gets paid for it.

does he still write the web comic?
Yes.
is the mangas material one to one of the comic version or is original?
It's 1:1+ with additional material that's, I think, partially done by ONE, partially done by Murata?
is opm web comic ( if still written) way ahead of the manga?
Reasonably far ahead, I'd say maybe one and a half major arcs (with one major arc being everything from the start to Boros)
i subscribe to viz shonen and even tho i don't read OPM, I do see the chapters go by .1s sometimes, is that just part of the goofiness? (so technically the series is in the hundreds, i'm guessing)
Murata's release schedule is unreliable. He works on the base of "whenever I finish it" rather than a set pages/week schedule like most other artists.

Mob Psycho 100 was a web comic as well.

this guy is crazy. thanks

HStallion

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
While Murata's schedule can be a little erratic the One Punch Man redraw is basically monthly at this point except for a little break recently

It's been awhile since I did a recommendation and I have just the one. I might have talked about this one a long time ago but so maybe you've read it but if not, I definitely recommend it.

Orenji Yane no Chiisana Ie (The Little Home with the Orange Roof)

A seinen manga by Noriyuki Yamahana, His most famous work is Yume de Aetara (if I see you in my dreams) which ran 17 volumes and received a 3 episode OVA and a 16 episode TV series (8-10 min eps). Most of his works have run in Business Jump or Young Jump. However, his art style is soft and much more in-line with styles associated with shoujo manga.

This manga is essentially a Japanese version of the Brady Bunch. Two families end up buying the same house when a real estate scams them both. That guy then decides to make a run for it leaving the families high and dry.. So they decide to move in together and to make the best of a bad situation. From there, the manga tells the story of how these families deal with this, how the parents have to change as people, how close the families become, and the budding romance between the parents.

It manages to be this very wonderful fusion of family comedy and slice of life that isn't really seen often in manga, IMO. The characters are fantastic and interesting. Their interactions really make the manga shine and the author does an amazing job of building their relationships. You can really feel them becoming closer and closer as the manga goes on. It, of course, has a bit of that classic anime and manga humor but because of the way the author writes, it's really cute and refreshing despite the situations being the usual stuff.

This page is a pretty good example of how Yamahana handles the comedy in the series. Natchi is pretty cute when she's a bit annoyed and angry, heh.

I highly recommend this series if you're in the mood for something that's light and a little bit wholesome to offset all the insanity and smut that comes at us in manga. It's only 8 volumes long and a pretty fast and enjoyable read. The only thing is the translations are older now and the quality of that work as a whole is a bit lacking. It's not enough to take away from how enjoyable it is though.

The author is Christian, pretty rare in Japan, so a lot of his manga after 2004, including this one, has influences from that here and there. Nothing very strong but I thought I'd mention it if anyone started wondering.

Bonus: Here's some Pop art that Yamahana has done recently for other projects.

The Private Report on My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness 6 END

Good series. Everyone should read it. I'll make sure to pick up Seven Seas' release of it in June.

The Private Report on My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness ch5 (End)

(There's still a bonus chapter.)

What a good read. The style of storytelling is pretty short and concise, yet every panel is relatable, filled with the thoughts of the protagonist, and by extension, the author. The book does a pretty good job at conveying the difficulties of combating depression, but also highlights the various other factors that play into aggravating one's symptoms, such as a profound lack of understanding of its effects by most of the populace, lack of accurate and helpful sex education, a still awkward perception of LGBT relationships, and simply communication in general. Seriously, the fact that she ultimately still couldn't come out to her parents about her book is extremely sad.

Small gestures like that might not mean much, but really do help at improving one's self-esteem and social skills. You'd be amazed how actually sociable and talkative some people how come off as 'awkward' can be once they're comfortable and aren't assaulted by the need to fit in.

Thank you Nagata Kabi, for this wonderful book. I hope you'll keep moving forward at your pace. I for one will eagerly await whatever future works you'll bring out.

Kurogane No Linebarrels Ch117: So is he dead now? I'll admit this has never been the easiest thing to follow, but the last few chapters have been such a muddle..

That specific meme was really really popular in Japan. Like orders of magnitude more popular than the US.

That's so random though, I wonder why a picture of some editors on an American gaming site nerding out would become so popular in Japan? Another mystery for the ages I suppose.

Fureru to Kikoeru 17.5-18
Incoming awkward beach episode. Let's see how long it takes for panda Satori to be replaced with swimsuit Satori. The lead duo really are the strongest support combo, now the MC just needs to realise how perfect they are together in other ways.

Been awhile since I read something like this. Not really sure if its 'good' beyond the gruesome art and disturbing concept but its kind of refreshing when I'm mostly reading clean shonen series otherwise.

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

Japan probably wonders the same thing with the image of Kira eating a sandwich with his "girlfriend"

nah, that's probably also a popular scene for different reasons in Japan.

It's more like...how "Iwata will drop the bomb" became a joke from a random Dutch website because it was funny

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Happiness ch. 27

Not really surprised Gosho's PTSD flared up so badly. Kind of a sad chapter.

Her coworker seems like a decent dude, so I fully expect him to be ripped in half soon.

The Memorandum of Kyoko Okitegami ch. 7

She's got an, uh, interesting fetish.

Chikyuu no Houkago 32

And then there was just one left. Poor Masashi, all alone.

Now all we need is for the mysterious man to show up and explain everything.

Gantz volume 16

Let me comment on this incredible volume where the bullshit that began in 15, i.e. Gantz ordering the murder of Tae, comes to its awful conclusion.
I can only say I hope the vampires wipe out the Gantz squad. Also if the rapists don't die in the next fight, when innocent passerby dragged into the whole Gantz stuff by that dickhead Izumi got wiped during the Dinosaurs fight I'll be even more annoyed than I am already.

Kei at least showed some balls by trying to protect Tae. Too bad he still royally sucks. His goal of getting 100s to bring (some, as he's already forgotten about that poor girl who sacrificed herself for him, the one who he asked to have sex with, to be precise) people back is noble, but I'd hope he murders Gantz when all is said and done.

I thought the whole Tae thing was really hardcore as a kid (though I'm a hundred percent sure that it was a lot stupider than what I remember), but that's also where the series started falling apart so badly that even kid me realized it was stupid.

edit: right, so I looked up the ending of Gantz since I dropped it before it got there, and: pfftthahahahaha

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
I realize all of these Persona girls are supposed to be mai waifus but I keep shipping them with the other characters.

Iinazuke Kyoutei 37

Looks like they're going to need more of a strategy to beat the final boss. Teamwork alone is not going to cut it.

Nanashi no Asterism 6 - 7

Well, it appears that everyone is sort of aware of everyone else's feelings. Which means this can only end badly for everyone.

Parallel Paradise 1 - 3

Well that sure was way more lewd than I was expecting. They should probably answer the question of how they reproduce if the world only has females though.

A parallel universe of only women?

Reminds me of a story where some (male) astronauts get into the same situation, and are so captured and experimented on to research new genes since they otherwise used cloning to reproduce. They didn't have much fun.

that's probably what would happen.

Goblin is Very Strong 1
The wacky adventures of a lv 99 goblin who specialises in killing heroes. At least, until she meets/kills vomit-chan
for the 10th+ time
and starts to feel slightly remorseful. It's a comedy with JRPG auto-revive rules, but there's still a tinge of darkness to the humour, largely stemming from the lead's ruthlessness. Art is your fairly standard cute girls doing cute _____ fare. It's amusing enough to follow, plus there's the added bonus of Barf's suffering.

Keyman Ch55: This. Never. Gets. Old. But boy does it keep getting better.

Teen Mom Ch18: Two Sassy Chicks & A Mom is a pretty accurate title for this. Interested to see if the K-Drama of it will be any good, as I wanna see a live action Jane.

Kingdom ch513

Qin is in a seemingly quite precarious situation.

Iinazuke Kyoutei ch36-37

Well, they've met quite a formidable final boss. I bet Tomo or Rika will be the one coming out on top of this.

Dead Tube ch31

Didn't expect Mashiro to be struggling to this extent to be honest.

Another new series next week. Here's hoping for Laserbeam or Hungry Marie (I guess Poro would be good too, if that series continues)

WSJ

Black Clover 105
Really enjoyed this chapter for the reaction to the Black Bulls placement. Thought they'd at least be lower. Guess it's time to see Yuno again. Hopefully he is a little more interesting now. Yami remains great. Asta really stuck the landing though. I should try and remember these captain this time around.

Dr Stone 4-5
Good chapters but I had already read them. Guess I should have waited lol

My Hero Academia 133
Good to see Red Riot in action. Phone charging hype from Kamanari. Bakugou dropping more wisdom. Not sure how I feel that we are already in drugs to enhance/prevent quirk zone, but maybe it will be interesting. Eraser outclassed. Sun eater may be my favorite of the big three.

Promised Neverland 34
Norman really was way ahead of the game. Phiiiiiil.

Owari no Serafu

Okay I guess having the father as the true mastermind here is surprising. I wonder how much can he really control.

Shinoa moment was interesting, I wonder if she could really sense or understand what she was being told. Stay safe Yuu.

Needed more Mika.

Dr. Stone 4 & 5

Dont like the Tsukasa plot as he seemed like a good addition to the plot, dont know why he has to be a potential baddie when there could be other things going on. Also framing it as murder is so odd since stuff is stone :(

Black Clover 102

Im so ready. Ive been waiting for this.
