That being said, if Lupinko keeps leaking shit, eventually developers might not trust these top level fighting game players. I'd be really concerned with the next MK game for example. I know NRS in general was really upset with all of the leaks.

Problem is the release date/deadline. Capcom (rightfully so) doesn't want Versus XIII's and DNFs on their hands. One could argue that announcing DmC when they did was also bad move.

We should know in less than two weeks what Capcom's plans are with MvC3 anyway, so when looked at in the big picture it won't seem too bad that we got a substantial announcement 4 months after the game released.

Bill Cosby might be hinting at Nick Fury.
In the 60s (the time Nick Fury was actually created, too), Cosby had a spy-themed series called "I Spy". Also, Fury is portrayed as black man in the movies and the Ultimate universe - this version was actually used in one of MvC3's endings, and I think the only non 616 version of a Marvel character that was used there.

He's also in the upcoming Avengers movie and as far as I know is going to get an own spin-off.

After catching up on SRK, NeoGAF, and GFAQs, I've decided that compiling the data is just not worthwhile.
1) Lupinko's hints are atrocious. We all know this - they can all be taken in so many ways that it feels more like playing Six Degrees to Kevin Bacon than solving a riddle. Arguments can be made for almost any character if we try hard enough. The clues are simply not good.
2) In no way does he distinguish which tweets are hints. If posting a bunch of videos with Ghostrider and the F4 has nothing to do with this game, then everything is indecipherable.
3) From looking at the jello/wizardry hint, past collaborations, and the depth we go to which surprises/irritates Lupinko, it's pretty obvious that we put a lot more thought into Lupinko's hints than he does.
4) No context is given for the clues. Suddenly, one of these is about a gameplay mechanic or a stage - how on earth are we supposed to know this?

So, I'll just wait for official information, a direct leak (because Lupinko still is legit), or clues more along the lines of our Strider Hiryu giveaway. Best of luck to anyone who decides to keep up on the game.

12 things. It could be Dec, 12 characters, 20"12" and 12 months until release date.

I am more likely to lend on "12" as release date.

Think about it, if 12 confirmed as Dec; then it would hint other leak to be true. Q4 2011.

Yeah, he keeps changing his reason for being "cryptic". First, it's because everyone was upset with him pre-release for ruining the hype. Then, he claims it's because he has to cover his back. Pre-release, he was a self-proclaimed attention whore.

It's pretty obvious which of the three reasons is the real one.

Didn't really want to post this since it seems to be just bullshit with dodgy sourcing, but here goes. Take this with a huge grain of salt.

- The announcement is for a super version of MvC3, called Marvel vs Capcom 3 EX. It will be available as a DLC update and as a retail disc (with limited supplies, mostly distributed via online retailers), as well as a PC version and an (eventual) Wii U version. Pricing and release date are still being decided, but the rough release date is Q4 2011.
- The game will add 10 new characters, and Jill and Shuma will be part of the update if you dont have them already (they arent counted towards the 10 characters).
- The only two characters Ill tell you about are the ones actually being announced at Comic-Con, which are Frank West and Cyclops.
- None of these new characters will be available as separate DLC for vanilla MvC3. You have to get the whole pack together.
- 4 new stages.
- The game will add some new modes and features.
- New alt costumes will also be announced for the game. You can also use these alt costumes in vanilla MvC3. The next set of alt costumes will be available just after the Comic-Con MvC3 presentation.
- Multiple glitches and balancing issues will be fixed in a patch available sometime in August. These changes will also of course carry over to MvC3EX.

The reason why I'm posting it is that lupinko said the twelve donuts representing twelve new characters for Super Marvel was close but not entirely correct. Ugh, and no one on GFAQs is listening to me. Pre-release, the fake leaks got so out of hand that moderators put a hard lock on the MvC3 forums against leak discussion. Any leak discussion was an instantly warned account (10 posts per day for 5 days), then you get suspended. I was suspended 3 times.

Man, I read Lupinko's post and I'm just pissed off at the gaffers that complained more than him. They could easily avoid clicking on MvC3 threads in the first place, but they fucking enter Lupinko's threads(or the threads he posts info in) only to complain about info that they could easily choose to avoid.

They ruined most of the fun for us in the first place according to Lupinko. Next time people want to come into a thread to complain about something they ignore they can get banned right the fuck out of here so that we can avoid this mess in the future. It's no different from trying to stifle other types of discussion and it does the majority of fans and gaf no good when the information is harmless(not porn, disgusting info or unlawful stuff).

If people want to talk about what they want they can go make another MvC3 request thread that specifically bars reveals and leaks in the title. Lupinko wouldn't be bothered to post in a thread full of dozens of people complaining about his methods. Hell, he already posts less because people are pissed about the riddles. I don't blame him at all for avoiding the possibility of becoming a lightning rod either.

I'm not going to pretend that he is not somewhat responsible, though. If he feels that he can be a little more loose with the info and he is making this mess as for extra attention then he is messing up, but he has gotten enough flak from other people for that so I've avoided complaining about it too much.

Edit: He has to worry about mob rule. Sometimes gaffers just see red and people get banned as a result. I'd rather have a Lupinko with a legit account than a banned account with no new sources of info. I can't blame him for being somewhat cautious.

Most people only started to give Lupinko flak after he called us all "special needs" for not figuring out his "riddles". You can't call the entire internet a bunch of morons and then not expect some form of return. Previous to that, the vast majority were either enjoying the videos or were just saying it wasn't for them. It's only after repeated insults that people are attacking his methodology, and it's generally not about giving us the information via riddles, but really bad riddles.

Strider. Obvious clue 1/2.

2) indeed, getting hype
Phoenix Wright. Obvious clue 2/2.

3) bill cosby
Megaman fans just took a massive sigh of relief, I also feel GameFAQs detectives' pain. This can go so many directions I don't know where.

4) wolverine not getting sick
We were close on a deconfirm of Cable. This was apparently a deconfirm if MasterChibi is still a reputable source. So was this actually a deconfirm of Bishop or Gill because those were the only other two noted on the page where MasterChibi said someone was right on SRK?

5) 12 donuts
We were 'close' with the game being a year out, or the game being released in December. So if we were close with that, logically this is a reference to a 2012 release.
The hockey and 4kids pokemon dub hints were only supposed to lead to Niitsuma eating the donuts. We did it in the reverse, and concluded that Eddie Brock (Venom) was in, so we were wrong on that.
BGM1215 is tagged in the Niitsuma video, and presumably the BGM playing in the background, is this possibly related?
What is on Niitsuma's shirt?
Or is something about Niitsuma saying Merry Christmas and a Happy New year related to the release schedule?

6) something red
The red tweets:

Relates to some sort of GAF-meme.

We were close with it not being roster related, and close with Megacrash. Perhaps this is a mechanic or element from a previous MvC3 game making it in?

That deconfirmation was either Gill, Cable or Bishop. So if it's Gill, we can narrow that down to Mysterio or Strange being in the game (Strange being more likely).

The few GAFers left that care should be tracking down said GAF meme. "dat," "Xzibit" and such are not GAF memes by origin.

BTW I completely agree with you, putting hours of time into a massive wrap up thats plagued by misdirection is no longer one of my concerns, I mean I may still do it, but the majority of that is irrelevant now.

God, I so hope you're right. Good ol' Stephen is one of my 2 favorite Marvel heroes. I really want him to be in this game, like REALLY.
Wouldn't mind Mysterio either, but I have no clue how he'd work out in a fighting game. Maybe with like, fake moves and shit, be a complete mindfuck, but I doubt that he'd be viable at all, lol.
