So I would like to spend a fiver on one between Zen Pinball and Fun Fun Minigolf.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Nintendo UK have begun finally using QR codes for eShop content. Only two so far, but it's a start!

Kid Icarus trailer:

How do I scan the code with the 3DS? The scanner in the Mii app won't work obviously.

Well Zen Pinball is more than 5 dollars, so that kind of narrows it down :p

The correct answer is Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon

Correct, because of the low ages of the girls if I'm not mistaken, video game pedophilia is a big problem over here you know, or whatever the reason was to have the game banned. Or maybe it was seen as pornographic, can't have that type of content on a console targeted for kids, or something ike that.

The game is not banned in any way. The publisher gave up the game voluntarily simply to avoid any more discussion over it as pedophilia has grown such an overheated subject. Other entertainment companies do similar self-sensoring in hopes of better audience acceptance. Just look at how few American companies dare to bring over European movies with male nudity scenes even though it is not bannable, just not looked positively in local cultural context.

1)change country region to uk
2)download DOA demo
3)change back to original country region
4)???
5)profit

;)
Thank you! I had no idea you could do that. :)
And DOA Dimensions was way better than I thought it would be. Is it possible to runthe UK retail version on a nordic 3DS the same way by changing region?

Is there any other game from other regions that is a must-have?

VVVVVV got an update today, it seems. Downloading the update as we speak -- maybe they finally fixed Flip/Mirror/Inverted mode?

I keep hoping that we are going to get a Kid Icarus demo sometime soon. I mean we are only what less than 2 weeks away now? I figured Nintendo would want to get a demo out to help garner some hype. Maybe they are saving that for this up and coming week though. :p

I'm not really expecting an eShop demo. They're hyping it like crazy with previews, anime, convention demos, AR card giveaways, etc. I think they're probably doing enough to hype it that they won't feel the need for a demo.

So had the time to try Zen Pinball.
Gave a few try to Excalibur scheme and got 11,1M points.
Seems really a great game.
3D is fantastic, very useful and jaggies free.

Best AA ever seen on 3DS, even in 3D.

Bought Fun Fun Minigolf too because I'm such a Shin'en whore.
Nice graphics and music, and a fun game overall.

Living in the shadow of Amaz
They functionally went under after the Tsunami, cancelled all in-progress games, and all of the named staff members have moved on. The Irem space in PlayStation Home was closed down, a number of their licensed titles on many systems all got pulled, and they haven't announced a new game or any development since. They're gone.

Actually, they released a Pachinko game for the 3DS last year, and they have an upcoming sequel that'll reach Japanese stores in May.

The funniest thing about it is that it'll include 4 Game Boy games as bonuses.

I picked up a £15 eShop card with the last of my Gamestation reward credit. I hope something interesting hits the market soon. There isn't a whole lot that excites me right now.

When I get home later I can take a look, but I believe all the demos are listed. Let me know of any disparity -- I could have made a mistake when entering them, as I didn't add the WiiWare demos until recently.

Sure, in theory it could be deemed as child pornography in Sweden, but there is no way in hell it would. Bergsala chickened out just because one dude pointed out that one of the girls in the game is 16 years old. You can make her do inappropriate poses while looking up her skirt, or whatever.

I seriously doubt anyone would think that Bergsala did something wrong if they released the game here. The girls in the game have ridiculous bodies; hardly pedophilia material.

I think this is the only thread relevant to spew forth my hatred at that bloody spider boss in Mega Man X, that git is outright killing the enjoyment of the game for me, as well as killing me over and over.
But yeah that and one poorly designed vertical section a bit before said boss aside it's a fun game, the virtual console has been good for me.

His movements are really easy to predict. As soon as his "webs" appear, you can predict exactly what's going to happen until he leaves.

I get how it follows the web paths, i'm just kind of slow at that sort of quick thinking needed when it speeds up, reminds me that I always had trouble with the various "devil" bosses in classic mega man games because I forget the pattern/get impatient.
Guess i'll just have to tough it out.

fortunately I stumbled upon this previously except now i'm low on ammo from previous failed attempts, might as well give it another shot.

Edit: Success, though I had to use an energy tank which makes me feel a bit cheap but oh well, thanks for the assistance.

Thanks! I separately found out and confirmed on your sheet that there was never a press release for the Jam City Rollergirls demo. Interesting.

Otherwise, they match up, with one exception: you have BIT.TRIP BEAT listed for 2011-11-16 and the PR says 2011-11-17, but it was also originally released in the 2009 demo batch on 2009-11-16.

Just a quick random tip on the final Sigma stage before you face Sigma himself in case you are low on subtank energy:

There will be worms spawning out of the holes in the walls you'll be climbing on. Use the charged up shield weapon and climb up to kill the worms. This will make farming healing capsules really easy and quick.

Never knew this tip until my 3rd playthrough. Pretty useful though.

5 more games disappearing from the Wii Shop in Europe at the end of the month, making 7 total. They are:

-R-Type (TG16)
-Super R-Type (SNES)
-R-Type III: The Third Lightning (SNES)
-Vigilante (TG16)
-Ninja Spirit (TG16)
-Legend of Hero Tonma (TG16)
-Military Madness: Nectaris (WiiWare)

Which of these are good? Besides R-Type, I mean. I never heard of most of the other ones.

I'm a bit worried we might see this happen on the US VC as well, but without any notification... although this is a weird mix of Irem and Hudson stuff...

The last four are interesting as they don't appear on my "Registered Titles" list on Club Nintendo. I don't see how any demo would have appeared on 11/17/2009 -- that's one day after the shop update. Perhaps that was just the day of the PR release?

I must have made a typographical error when adding the Bit.Trip.Beat demo -- all the other titles have their 2009 release, so I must have mangled the date when entering it. I've changed it to read as 2009-11-16, and it should reflect than on the next website update.

Anything else look off there? I think there were a few demos that were "rereleased" -- can you confirm which ones were released multiple times?

It appears BIT.TRIP BEAT was the only actual rerelease, unless you count the day when all the demos were reinstated (and it does indeed seem to be all; I've compared the list to what's currently available on the shop.)

Yeah that's what I did.

I shouldn't have to do it though..

yeah i know. but wasn't doa banned in some countries? i think it had to do with panties on fighters and not being over 18

edit:i see you discussed this already

I grabbed Legend of Hero Tonma and Ninja Spirit a couple of months ago when I first heard of the Irem shenanigans.

The real question is why is Nectaris on this list? The Hudson stuff should still be okay under Konami.

Is the game also being delisted from XBLA/PSN or just WiiWare?
I don't know. In fact, the original post doesn't list a source or anything. Although the Irem games dropping off is believable, considering the SMS R-Type was already dropped and the Spelunker stuff from Japanese PSN.
