Hey, Open Your Heart was used in roughly the same way for SA1. It was also equally awesome there.

So yeah, I'm picking up Smash now.

Yeah, I like Open Your Heart too, but I prefer Live and Learn. But Live and Learn is where the 3D Sonic Brawl soundtrack should end. Seriously.

Green Hill Zone and Invincibility/Title/Super Sonic theme MUST be in, as well. I'd love a Chemical Plant Zone remix, but that ain't ever gonna happen =X Oh, and the Sonic 2 soundtrack has to be the best one. Mystic Cave and Casino Night <3

Live and Learn was horrible. I felt bad for having to listen to it ever. It just felt like such a try hard to be cool and failed hard.

Personally i don't think any sonic was able to match the original soundtrack. In fact i don't think any others come close.

My guess is it'd be something more typical, like Green Hill Zone, but Casino Night Zone would be awesome.

I still think Sonic 2 and Sonic CD had the best music in Sonic's history... with Rush coming in at a close third.

Live and Learn was awesome for how it was used in SA2, it isnt about thinking and going "wow, I cant enjoy this, this music is trying too hard to be edgy", it is about thinking
WOOOOH! SUPER SONIC STAGE! COME ON SHADOW LETS F*** THIS FINAL HAZARD UP!

and Sonic 2 and Sonic CD were the best music wise.

Sonic Rush's soundtrack was brilliant. I think that the "funky" style suits Sonic more than the rock in the SA games.

he was always supposed to be a hip and cool character

the difference is the original design is from the 90s, the later designs was late 90s going into the millenium, his image obviously changed over time and it wasnt terrible.

watch the old Sonic cartoons, it is pretty clear what kind of character they were trying to make him out to be, a hip character who eats chili cheese dogs.

I agree. OOOOOH LOOKS LIKE HE CAME BACK FOR MOOOORE, YEAH YEAH YEAH!


Sonic 3 and Knuckles's Music was great, too. It had some really great tracks like Lava Reef, Ice Cap, Flying Battery and Knuckles's theme (the S&K one). I think the Special Stage music was the best in that game, too.

Let's not forget Sonic 1, either. Robotnik's Theme = Best Sonic boss theme evar.

In the Megadrive days, I saw Sonic as cool and edgy, except I also perceived him to be a bit of an insensitive bastard for some strange reason, instead of the surfer dudish guy he is now. But that may be down to the UK Fleetway Sonic comic's version of him.

To this day, that Sonic has to be the best representation of Sonic evar.

I'm pretty sure it was brought up in here earlier, but with the update it may have been missed. So for those who got here later in the hoopla...

Nintendo announced that there will be some form of online co-op at their conference in JPN, but didn't give any details.

I like sonics running animation with his legs flying everywhere. It looks like it will be fun to play as him too.

I did like sonic 2's soundtrack, personally didn't like the music from rush much. Sonic CD is the only sonic i haven't played so i can't comment.

what I am expecting: Classic arcade mode in online co cop, aka you and a friend over the internet fighting AI enemies on a stage.

what I am truly expecting in a Sakurai like move: atleast the entire adventure type mode in coop.

I didn't really care about Sonic before, but he looks like he'd be a lot of fun to play as in that new trailer, so I'm sold.

The other new trailer looks awesome too. I hope Gametrailers gets these up in higher quality some time.

Are people really on the fence about this game?!? What is wrong with some people? Its like owning a 360 not wanting Bioshock or having a Ps3 and not wanting the new Team Ico game.

1) Maaaaaaaaybe. Or not.

2) Well, the date has changed to TBD. I assume we'll be hearing today if there's actually a change or not, once NoA drags their lazy butts into work. (Yes, I know it's 3:45 am Pacific right now, but we need answers, dammit!)
