73:50
2 - Pokemon Shuffle 37:22

Most were Pokémon freebies and FE:A was my girlfriend's walkthrough.

Pretty weak year for my 3DS. TWEWY was awesome though.

Total: 30 titles, 247:14 , with 107,446 steps

MH4U : 71:20

Fire Emblem Awakening : 37:42

Puzzle & Dragons Z SMB Ed. : 36:21

Fantasy Life : 30:03

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D : 22:04

Luigi's Mansion 2 : 20:39

I completed Luigi, and most things are done in fantasy life, including 5 God ranks.

Puzzle & Dragons got too grindy. Fire Emblem was great.

MHU ? Interesting that's at the top. I played it a lot and got nowhere. I feel totally cheated by that game, even though you may think I got my money's worth.

HUGE drop off from my play time last year:

This is probably the year where my 3DS killed me.

TOTAL: 684:30

Top offenders:

Shin Megami Tensei IV - 99:01
Bravely Default - 74:02
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies - 66:13
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call - 58:31
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - 38:46
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations - 35:53

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - 22:22
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All - 20:41

This is also the same year that I got a Wii U and bought pretty much every first party game except Hyrule Warriors.

Gaming has taken over my life.

Play Time: 28 titles/194:27

Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 44:11 - it was okay.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy - 42:55 (first 2 games) - I watched LPs of the first 2 games already so it was more of a retread than a fresh experience.
Pokemon X - 32:02 - second play through of gen 6, certainly not my favourite gen.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - 26:12 - surprisingly did nothing for me on my 3rd time through the game and 1st time through the remake.
Senran Kagura Burst - 18:57 - I don't know how I put so much time into this game, weirdly enjoyable but without a doubt one of the worst games I played this year and perhaps ever.

Not a great year to be sure, out of the 3 full years I had my 3DS 2015 was by far the worst. Although next year looks better for sure.

Relevant edit: apparently I'm a member now. That's neat.

O-oh...

Steps: 699,762
Play Time: 43 Titles / 902:36

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker - 137:18
Fire Emblem Awakening - 116:49
Stella Glow - 94:55
Devil Survivor Overclocked - 57:53
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - 57:18
Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 56:07
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - 50:10
Yo-Kai Watch - 39:94
Etrian Mystery Dungeon - 37:27
Dragon Quest IV - 36:35
Majora's Mask 3D - 36:31
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon - 29:37 (still ongoing)
Kingdom Hearts 3D - 24:47
Pokemon Shuffle - 24:47
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. - 18:38
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon - 16:32

Other apps (eShop, StreetPass Plaza, etc...) and demos take up a lot of the rest. I'm crazy about the 3DS, it's my favorite system by far.

I became enthralled with Record Breaker. I played through it several times consecutively for multiple endings and, as of now, I'm only missing 3 total (from both story arcs).

I replayed my second run of Fire Emblem Awakening and began to get crazy with stat grindings and maxing every characters classes (even created a word doc to mark off each class I'd mastered on each character).

Stella Glow also really captured my attention and I went back through it twice for both endings and all the character epilogues.

An absolutely amazing year, and next year looks like it'll be treating the 3DS exceptionally well, too!!

  12. 13:45 Chibi-Robo! Ziplash
  13. 10:56 BOXBOY!

And everything else under 10 hours.

I should give my impressions this year; It was a light 3DS year in terms of volume of games that came out, but with the monster (haha) that was MH4U, it easily covered that up. Xenoblade is my favourite jRPG of all time, so being able to replay it and especially with how well it goes on a portable platform was great.

The primary problem though; What was there for the 3DS was pretty disappointing. AC:HHD, Ziplash, Triforce Heroes, Code Name STEAM; They all were either not what we wanted, or they were bad. Triforce Heroes deserves more playtime from me, but it's a chore. Online connection issues are too common with randoms, and with local play at work, there are too many devices around and the connection is complete shit, even inches apart.

The game I haven't played yet that might really make the year for me; Yo-Kai Watch. My wife picked it up first and has been enjoying it a ton. I'll have a go at it in the New Year, eventually. after hundreds of Fire Emblem hours.. but eventually..

Well, even though I had lower times for 3DS games this year versus the last (I played waaaaay too much Pokémon in Highschool) I made it up with several hundreds of hours playing Hatsune Miku Project Diva f 2nd on my Vita I purchased this year ^_^

Play Time
74 Titles / 233:10

Animal Crossing: New Leaf | 100:07 (seems low)
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D | 26:10
The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds | 21:11
Animal Crossing: Wild World | 14:34
(I kept this cart in another 3DS or DS Lite most of the time because I sometimes would want to keep a 3DS game in the slot in whatever my newest 3DS was)

This year:
Steps: 212.085
74 Titles/ 654:21

1. Fire Emblem Awakening - 178:49
2. Persona Q - 147:55
3. Smash Bros - 73:40
4. Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millenium Girl - 45:32
5. Pokemon White 2 - 20:01

My top five all time:

1. Fire Emblem Awakening - 941:38
2. Smash Bros - 268:32
3. Pokemon Y - 258:39
4. Bravely Default - 232:47
5. Pokemon X - 161:16

I got a LOT of playtime off of FE:A.

56 Titles / 471:55

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - 100:31
2. Pokemon Omega Ruby - 92:01
3. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - 92:00
4. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - 33:17
5. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire - 32:09

And because I could probably honestly condense both Pokemon entries to one:

6. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth - 18:20

Other notable mentions include:

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon - 14:59 and counting
Super Smash Bros. - 10:27

This year, I fell back down the Pokemon hole and tried to collect all the available ones between OR/AS. I never finished, but I did fill up a bunch of boxes.

I began casually speedrunning the 3DS Zelda games, too (shoutouts to zeldaspeedruns for that.) Not seriously going for times, because the movement stuff is way over my head in a lot of cases. It's kinda crazy to watch someone who knows what they're doing speedrun a Zelda game.

Isaac is Isaac, but the 3DS port still ain't great. Playable and serviceable now. Just had a really rocky start and never really became amazing. Love to have it on the go, though!

Smash 3DS took a backseat to the WiiU version, but I still load it up to play a quick CPU match whenever I have some downtime.

Finally, Pokemon SMD is really striking a chord with me, since I loved MD Rescue Team/Explorers and skipped Gates after hearing it was kinda limited.

I only needed 18 hours to realize it, its amazing to me that you put 71:20 and left feeling cheated.

I kept thinking that it must get better. Then I grindy-grinded the same monster for an armour set so I could grind the next monster for the next armour set.

Eventually I just quit. I don't think I 'get' the game. Though many clearly do.

This is my first year with a 3DS, got it when Majora's Mask 3D came out.

Steps - 36,688

Fire Emblem Awakening - 135:34
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - 95:20
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy - 61:57
Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 40:30
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies - 35:55
Style Savvy: Trendsetters - 27:53
The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D - 21:01

Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters - 2:24
3D Sonic the Hedgehog - 2:09
Star Fox 64 3D - 1:55
3D Streets of Rage - 1:28

I'm surprised I've put that many hours into AC. Fire Emblem Awakening got its claws into me pretty good.

262:16

1. Mon Hun 4 83:55
2. Animal Crossing 39:21
3. Super Mario 3D Land 13:37
4. The Binding of Isaac 11:52
5. Mario and Luigi Paper Jam 11:49

Far less time with the 3DS than usual this year: I put over 400 hours into it in each of 2013 and 2014, but most of its activity in 2015 was confined to the first few months.

Total: 27 titles / 223:42

1. Animal Crossing: New Leaf — 51:05
2. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. — 46:53
3. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D — 36:28
4. Mario Golf: World Tour — 22:32
5. SteamWorld Heist — 19:10
6. New Super Mario Bros. 2 — 16:10

A very sharp drop-off after that. New Leaf mostly involved organizing and cultivating flowers for a while, I'm not actually done with MM3D, and both Mario Golf and NSMB2 were among the many, many games I acquired via the big mid-year dump of Club Nintendo points. Next year will probably far surpass 2015 on the strength of Fire Emblem Fates alone.

3DS is the only gaming device I own. MH4U alone was almost half of my total playtime. I have no job, and I received some of these games last year.

Top 5:

Mii Plaza 175:01
Fantasy Life 77:39
Yo-Kai Watch 58:31
A Link Between Worlds 50:02
Animal Crossing: New Leaf 42:19

My interest in StreetPass has been waning ever since I got all the puzzle pieces for most things. I think it's been a bit of an underwhelming year for the 3DS. I predict that next year, Dragon Quest VII and VIII as well as Bravely Second, Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, and Fire Emblem Fates are going to eat up a ton of time. I might get a New 3DS next so this might change. This is the only current gen system I own as a reference.

Quite surprised at my statistics. From my N3DSXL (leaving off apps):

Steps: 108,599
Play Time: 72 titles / 270:18

1. Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition - 56:17
2. Project X Zone - 47:58
3. Fire Emblem Awakening - 38:18
4. Fantasy Life - 14:48
5. Pokémon Shuffle - 13:13
6. Nintendo Badge Arcade - 6:58
7. YO-KAI WATCH - 5:47 (I need to play this more)
8. Attack of the Friday Monsters - 4:39 (I loved this game)
9. Code Name S.T.E.A.M. - 4:38
10. The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds - 2:26 (I need to get back to this)

That's my top 10. It falls off quite a bit from there, with many games I just got.

This was something a couple of my friends fell into. Making more armor than they needed.

Admittingly, it was something I fell into with Freedom Unite. The armor stuff is more important towards the end (G Rank) really.

I have been on a huge decline for playing my 3DS. 289 hours in 2013, 241 hours in 2014, but only 107 hours in 2015. I guess since I got my Wii U in late 2014 and Xbox One this year that I've been neglecting my 3DS a lot.

Total: 107:31
Top 5
1. Super Smash Bros. 21:15 (Mostly played on Band Trips)
2. Pokemon Omega Ruby 20:31 (Smh, didin't even finish the game)
3. Pokemon Shuffle 13:42 (I'm both shocked and disappointed at myself for this much hours played for this game)
4. Mario Kart 7 9:54 (Just Got it this year)
5. Ultimate NES Remix 6:50 (Also just got this year)

Fire Emblem Awakening (97:43)
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth (97:05)
Pokemon X (39:10)
Pokemon Y (17:19)
Yokai Watch (15:06)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (14:17)

Huh. Considering I only ever play my 3DS these days, I'd expect more. But eh.

My lowest year so far, 39 titles / 165:40

- Animal Crossing New Leaf: 107:41
- Pokemon Shuffle: 16:12
- Fantasy Life: 8:52
- Pokemon Alpha Sapphire: 5:47
- Super Smash Bros.: 4:36 (Wii U version made this obsolete lol)

I'm kind of sad about this, I usually have more play time than this. Even though I bought a new 3DS XL with monster hunter 4 when they both released, I figured I would have a great time with it, but it's been quite the opposite (didn't really like MH4). I'm thinking some of it has to do with the XL. It's too big for any enjoyment for me but yet there are so many games that I want to play on it. I've been thinking about buying just a regular New 3DS and seeing if that'll solve my problem. I did have a 3DS XL before upgrading to the 'new' and even then I felt like it was too big, so maybe that is what's wrong. I suppose bigger isn't always better, amirite?

49 titles/541 hours

1. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - 120:21
2. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon - 80:13 (and counting)
3. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS - 64:40
4. Pokemon Shuffle - 47:24
5. TLOZ: Tri Force Heroes - 34:02

I'm not surprised that I put this much time into MH4U. I've had an even better blast with it compared to 3U since it helped me learn the basics of features in a better way. Although some time may be because I idled on occasions.

PSMD, on the other hand, shocked me. Even after leaving the game for a couple weeks after marathoning the story, I somehow got 80 hours into it in a month. The hours are still counting since I'm now going for 100% completion and I had an absolute blast with it this year.

SSB3DS, despite having the Wii U version, was hours of online play with Wii U-less friends, CPU practice, and possibly idling.

Pokemon Shuffle was before they started throwing in levels fully intended to pay and waste items, and Tri Force Heroes is about the same case as SSB3DS.

I think my total play time would be a lot higher if I hadn't moved on from MH4U to Splatoon. For the record, MH3U was about 180 hours, but I spent over 400 on MH3. Can't wait to spend another 300+ hours on MHX.

SOS time isn't surprising since the Bokumono series is one of my favorite series, all that time and I still haven't gave birth:( I picked up a few Atlus games and enjoyed them. Happy to beat EMD as its the first rogue dungeon game that I've beat! MS2 was a nice surprise and only digital game in my top 5. I played way more this year then last year- which was 264:52- partly due to my computer being broken for months. My most played game still remains Fantasy Life at 162:31 awesome game and I did just about everything in that game.
