The challenge is to finish three or more games a month.
Having this goal can be a good reminder to pick up some old saves, and motivation to continue games through the occasional frustrating times. Some months can be harder than others, and different people have different circumstances, but three can often be an achievable goal to push for.
What counts as finishing a game can sometimes be fuzzy, so you can use your own judgement. There aren't any hard rules.
Please post your goals for the month, and please share your triumphs and setbacks and impressions of the games you play as the month goes by.
How Long to Beat is a big help, as a guide to how much longer a game will take.
Backloggery can be used to keep track of the games you have and haven't finished, to prevent a game from falling through the cracks.
Does anyone have other tools they use?
52 Games. 1 Year. 2016. is a thread for if you're looking for a bigger challenge.
Good luck to everyone chipping away at their backlog.

As for me, I finished:
Uncharted 4: Finished on the 11th. It had a more variety with the platforming and puzzles than earlier games, and it was less of a series of shootouts than previous games. It also has the best-told story in the series.
Liyla and The Shadows of War: Finished on the 20th in order to be familiar with its content which has become newsworthy. It is very short at under 20 minutes.
Dark Souls III: Finished on the 22nd. It is an excellent game, a great challenge, though its structure made the critical path easy to miss among other paths and the right place to go could be in an area you haven't visited in ages. It's going to be tough to decide between Dark Souls 3 and The Witness for GOTY, though the rest of the year is promising and could depose them both. It's a good year.
Resident Evil Revelations 2: Episode 1: Finished on the 22nd. I got the first episode for free and tried it as I heard good things. Early impressions were bad (switching between two characters, the other one becoming AI, but only one has a torch and isn't very helpful with it!) but I got into it more with the second half. I don't know if I'll buy the rest.
I'm also aiming for some of:
Broken Sword 1: I am 34% through it. I really like its story's intrigue.
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2: I played through the first game and the spin-off last month, and now I am playing the sequel. It goes in some excellent, unexpected directions. I am controlling Wilbur for the second time.
