We are always interested in getting to know more people with the same hobby. If you share our love for Indies, let us know! We talk about anything Indie, want to talk about the mess that DoubleFine is leaving behind? The depth(s) of Dwarf Fortress? Need recommendations? This is the right spot to ask! We'd also love to read more impressions :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| 3.5 Quick Note about Formatting |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you want to suggest a game that has recently released or that looks interesting, but hasnt released yet, please follow the following formatting structure so the post is picked up by Toma-Bot:

Released games:
TITLE - PRICE (PLAT)
LINK

DESCRIPTION TEXT
Not yet released games:
TITLE - PLAT
LINK

DESCRIPTION TEXT
Copy the appropriate content and add the proper information for the black writing. Please only include 1 link and 1 image. I tried making it a bit failsafe, so it should be able to deal with 2 links or images as well, but 1 is safer.

If the game is free, then put "Free" as the price, otherwise please use $ or € for the price. You can also include more than one game per post (like the Screenshot saturday posts), but please stick to the above format for every entry.

If someone posts a non-proper formatted post, I'd appreciate if you could repost the game with the same info in the proper format.

I noticed there are a few noteworthy, and relatively unknown, projects that deserve a shoutout here because I feel that they share a common interest with the people in this thread. I talked to the guy from Pixabyte and MetaVendetta and both are very enthusiastic about the things they love and figured you might appreciate the shoutout as well. If you enjoy anything here or want to give feedback, let these guys know via their websites or also here in this thread. If you appreciate something, let people know. A heads up can sometimes very valuable.

Any love for Tokyo Dark?

Kotaku article here

I haven't played it yet, but it sounds awesome:

Tokyo Dark is an adventure game for PC that puts you in the shoes of disgraced Tokyo cop Ayami Ito. She's trying to solve the murder of her partner/lover, which seems to be connected to a girl Ito shot during a hostage situation and a mask that makes her hear voices. Trying to summarize the plot of this game in a succinct way is pretty difficult, as its pulpy plot zigs and zags up until the final moments. You escalate from simple homicide to blood sacrifices as Ito gets closer and closer to the truth of her partner's death.

Two of the games' four meters—professionalism and investigation—have to do with Ito's work life as a cop. Keeping those stats high can give her more resources in her journey through the game, like the ability to work with people at the police force. The other two—sanity and neurosis—reflect her mental state. A low sanity stat works how you'd expect: the dialogue changes subtly, showing a version of Ito who is being pushed to the brink. In one version of a scene with Ito's neighbor, Yumi, Yumi seems creepy and sinister. In another, she's just Ito's normal neighbor who is worried about how she stays up all night and works all the time.

How much Ito's sanity is raised or lowered by in-game events is compounded by her neurosis. In a fun twist, neurosis is raised or lowered by actual neurotic behaviors. If the player has Ito spend too much time pacing rooms or streets, talks to characters too many times, or just has a hard time figuring out a puzzle, Ito gets more neurotic. It's a small thing, but it helps the player feel connected to Ito. As I got more and more neurotic about not being able to solve a puzzle in real life, Ito got more neurotic in the game.

Visual novels/detective games are my jam. I'm gonna try it asap.

Sounds like potentially fun. I'm generally not massively into visual novels but the addiction of a bit of murder mystery and madness might swing it for me. I've started my September by playing a fair bit of Card City Nights 2 (its ace) and I recently got Sessions After Fall on the Focus sale so gonna dig into that soon, although the big Destiny 2 is coming in the post anytime soon so that is likely to take up a bit of time.

I love this thread so thank you for the effort OP.

I just wish I had more time to play games as a lot of these really interest me.

Anybody played both Dead Cells and Sundered? Want to know how they compare.

I own Dead Cells but have yet to play it. I can speak on Sundered. Good game. It has rogue-lite elements in that you get stronger when you die and go to the beginning area and upgrade yourself. Very metroid-lite in that you do have to collect certain items to advance due to map obstacles/features. Hack and slash instead of shoot (though you CAN shoot...more like alt fire).

Not GOTY stuff, but I strongly recommend it.

Dead Cells is better. I wasn't super convinced going in, but goodness me...

Responsive, satisfying, super hard but never feels unfair.

Get it and see. Worse comes to worse you can always refund it.

The last I remember was that More_Badass was compiling the results I think.
Yeah, I have to update and/or do a ton of threads, like the Crowdfunding 2017 thread and the Best of iOS 2016. Kind of fell on the wayside between vacation last month and other stuff before that.

Damn, for a second I thought it was allready out :(

Anyways, I'm hoping for impressions on Tooth & Tail. Anyone?

I haven't had a huge chance to play it yet, but I've got it and it seems solid so far. Controlling your army takes a bit of getting used to and to be honest I still haven't yet but it seems like potentially a very cool speedy rts game. Despite the animal characters the game reminds me most of the early Commander and Conquer games with regards to you having fast disposable armies and not having to worry much about economy units/buildings.

Haven't played many indies recently besides West of Loathing (which is hilariously awesome). I blame the Dishonored series + XCOM 2 + catching up on a bunch of shows

But mainly I'm slowly counting down the days to Heat Signature

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
Haven't had a chance to play anything so far this month - work is HECTIC!

I just want to play Divinity...

Pretty much the same for me, probably just gonna get around to dig myself into Divinity 2. If anyone needs a good rhythm game for switch or phone, Voez is highly recommended though. The version on switch has 140 songs or something, which is bananas content wise and even though it has some annoying songs, there are plenty of good ones too.

Super Fancy Pants Adventure is a wild free-running adventure with buttery smooth platforming and a slick fountain pen!

Hope I didn't screw this up :p anyway it just came out and it's so damn fun to play! Loved the old FPA on the 360 back then and this one seems even better, the platformers this year just keep on giving!

You know if it is any different from the 360 game? I did play that a bit back in the day so I could be persuaded to buy it again, but it would be nice if it has a bit of new content.

From what I played (~hour and a half) it's a full-on sequel. And from its Steam page:
Super Fancy Features
-So many levels! - 56 brand new levels of parkour platforming

Having no local coop is a downer :(

Loved the game on 360 though.

I came here to ask for an Indie game which had a thread some time ago and got hooked by that No. 1 Indie Game from last month. Great thing which really makes you think and explains very comprehensively.

Anyway, to the game I am seeking. It was a driving simulator, I think more like a narrative one. You were chased by another car the whole time. Graphics were dark and gloomily, driving physics already looked very slick and heavy.
