Nintendo are looking healthy at the top of the All Formats Chart as ‘Wii Fit’ stays at No1 for a third consecutive week, totalling 12 weeks at No1 in all (8 of which have come in 2009).

After Easter, sales of ‘Wii Fit’ are down by 30%, while ‘The Godfather II’ remains at No2, sales falling by 32%. EA will have to wait in the wings for another week in order to become the Don of the games charts, but old favourite ‘FIFA 09’ (-17%) ensures a strong presence at the top end of the Chart for the big American publisher, up 2 places to No3. The rest of the All Formats Top 10 shuffle places, ‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games’ (-35%) and ‘Resident Evil 5’ (-30%) are both down one place to No’s 4 and 5 respectively. Nintendo’s 3 other Top 10 titles all perform relatively well, each with only small drops in sales – ‘Professor Layton’ (-9%) is up one place to No6, ‘Mario Kart Wii’ (-1%) up 2 places to No7 and ‘Wii Play’ (-13%) is a non-mover at No8. Activision Blizzard still have a foothold in the Top 10 despite ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (-23%) slipping from No6 to No9.

With no new releases of any note out this week it gives consistent chart performer ‘Carnival: Funfair Games’ (-12%) the opportunity to sneak back into the Top 10, up from No16 to No10.

Did this get a price drop or is there a renewed push for it? It used to flip flop with Shaun White in charting whenever Wii Fit was in stock during the holidays

Glad to see Chinatown Wars holding up.

I wonder where SMG stands in France now that it's been out of the top 5 for a while. I don't know why we French are the most receptive to this game.

Or sales are lower overall, and they re-charted.
Or we dunno what the number between 30th to 20th, it might be 20,000 or 1000 different.

360 may have 'small bump' or 'big bump' or 'nothing change but everything down'. That's why UK charts are useless but the comment news and award charts from Chart-Track is only best we have for UK for estimate the total of sale.

Is that really that bad for a two month old game?

Considering that this is its best position across all the currently available Euro charts, then yeah, I'd say it's not so great.

Looks like HoTD Overkill is still doing well on the Wii Charts, MadWorld gone (down to 15)

1 WII FIT
2 MARIO KART WII
3 MARIO & SONIC AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES
4 RAYMAN RAVING RABBIDS TV PARTY
5 GUITAR HERO: WORLD TOUR
6 ANIMAL CROSSING LETS GO TO THE CITY
7 SONIC AND THE BLACK KNIGHT
8 THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL
9 PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2009
10 BEN 10 ALIEN FORCE

In that case, I agree, not great.

I wonder if others are having shooter fatigue coming off everything from the last Holiday season (Gears 2, R2, WaW etc). I know personally, I haven't picked it up yet since I'm totally tired of shooters right now and am currently in a full JRPG/SFIV mode. I definitely plan on picking it up though, perhaps next month.

There's probably something to that, as it doesn't at least outwardly appear to be much different from recent shooters. I picked it up based on the beta, enjoyed it, sold it. At the end of the game, I felt that I never wanted to see another first person shooter for as long as I lived, and I still feel that way a bit.

Personally, I think they should have pushed for a Fall release of KZ2, and left R2 in the pot for a few more months.

what euro charts? you dont get more than top 10 in rest of the major countries :lol

game still top 20 after 2 months... thats called legs.

Pretty sure it's an intentional move though to make the game more appealing to the casual family audience. A big name PS3 game being given the family push is a great move and something Microsoft hasn't yet really had the balls to do.

Interesting chart, but it's the pre summer Hibernation. (Well DS & Wii will wake up for the summer anyway).

And yeah - Rayman TV party was on Price promotion in GAME at least this weekend. It's tempting at that price.

DSi selling well, but also being restocked very fast - really uncharacteristic of modern Nintendo, no artificial shortages on launch.

10 (11) NDS Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Take 2)

Well, that confirms it, UK DS userbase> US one.

I suppose that relative to other PS3 exclusives, that would be legs, but you can't seriously argue that it's a good position when viewed outside the PS3 bubble.

only reason i havent bothered is the pad, its just useless for FPS games, not sure i will bother, but do love a good FPS

No no legs equals debuting at 30 or lower in the charts then falling off the charts then selling the rest of your intial shipment at discounted price at a snails pace.

I think Professor Layton proved that since it was a hit in the EU from the start and in the US it did not chart till last month (1 year after launch)

i dont really know what that means... 2 months in top 20 is good for any console.

Maybe if PS3 didnt have any other games released, it would stay longer and sell for years, but thats not going to happen, plenty of new games coming.

If they wanted to give LBP a push in any direction, then how about allowing people to use any PS3 compatible camera to import pictures? Most boneheaded fucking decision of all time. The one god damn fucking time their "open format" shit could have made a real difference, and those shitholes lock it down to official peripheral only. God fucking damn it.

I felt the same way before, that it was almost "impossible" to play FPS with a pad, but after trying some of the PS3 FPS games, i have gotten more and more used to it, and now i think that it actually works fine to play a FPS game with a pad :) But i still think that a mouse + keyboard controllers are the best option for FPS games though :)

I guess that they only allow their own procduced camera to be used, since then there might be a bigger potentional to sell more PS Eye cameras, but i agree that it probably would have been nice if you could use any PS3 compatible camera to import pictures in LBP :) Would allowing any PS3 compatible camera with LBP have giving the game a bigger market/sales push though? Or at least a seginficant market/sales push?

I think US userbase was waiting for DSi but there are no facts to back that up.

a pad is fine, ps3 pad isnt, its just horrible for FPS, sticks too loose, triggers not triggery enough, stick placement doesnt work, i will probably get it when i can get it for sub £20

I know. I am sure KZ2 is #1 in every country we don`t get charts for. I also think it is #11 in countries we only get the top 10 and #21 in countries we only get the top 20.

It's hardly spectacular on a DS or Wii scale, unless we're talking smaller, less significant releases.

Anyone know when the next sales awards are coming out? Would love to see how Layton, HoTD Overkill, and some other games have done

Hey let's be fair. Killzone is doing great. It's just that it didn't live up to the hype, that's it.

No reason to talk about it further. Let it just die peacefully in the charts.

I am more concerned about Wii software though. See the huge gap between Fitness Coach and the damn rest ?

Personally i feel that the PS3 pad works just fine, i dont really have any problems playing FPS games on the PS3, but i guess that the controller is a matter of taste which variates from person to person. Some people like the control and some people doesnt like the control :) So i guess that it is pretty much just a matter of taste :)

If you prefer the Xbox 360 controller, then it is possible to get one of these adapters that allows you to use a wired Xbox 360 controller on a PS3:

http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=35482

You probably wont be able to use the Sixaxis features that some games uses though, but i dont think that too many PS3 games uses it, or at least they dont use it alot :)

But do you agree that it is still good, just not spectacular? :)

I can only speak for myself, but Killzone 2 pretty much lived up to my hype :)
