Every single PAL thread. Is it just by virtue of them being bundled? Much like how Kung Fu Panda etc charts for the 360?

so basically gaming was dead long before the wii.
 
I would like to think Punch-Out would knock Wii Fit off the top next week in the UK..


..but considering the nostalgia factor for the franchise is pretty much zero over here...and the supposedly massive ad campaign from Nintendo is nowhere to be seen....it'll be lucky to make the Top 40. :(

If anything does knock Wii Fit off the top..it'll be EA Sports Active. :lol

Punchout! ads and store presence will start at launch so expect it to sell more in the 2nd week. No point in advertising to casuals before the game comes out - it's a waste of money.
EA active is being bundled with WiiFit in GAME for £99 so ironically it will get a sales spike as EAs game (with the giant rubber band and nunchuck knee strap) goes on sale. I do expect it to do well due to the branding and ads and sheer lack of capable product in that particular space.


3rd week is the important one for DS games, and Rhythm paradise has passed the test. It's a hit!! If it really takes off it should rise over time as sales collapse for pretty much everything over the summer ala Layton.

There is a big LBP summer push on the way too, price helps but adverts also should keep it rising to the top as other sales drop off.

It's notable that there are a lot more 'HD' titles in the chart at the moment than last year - probably due to price wars.

I'm kinda sad KZ2 has fallen five places this week though, I wonder what the reason behind that was. I know LBP is rising due to the extremely low price though.

Damn at Halo 3 though. That's some Nintendo like legs. Is it being bundled? I'm pretty sure Killzone 2 is (well it is here in AU).

I figured our bundles were the same as the UK's. LBP isn't bundled so that should be selling off it's own bat, which is good.

I thought Halo was being bundled but I don't see it on Game (they just have the usual kung fu panda/lego indiana jones etc) Killzone 2 and LBP are bundled on the PS3 side but their first party so its expected.

Wii Fit must make an obscene amount for Nintendo and FIFA10 is going to be a beast. I can see UFC selling really well though.

If PunchOut! is secretly named UFC 2009 or Pokemon Platinum then yes, it will be next weeks number one... I expect UFC next week, then PokePlat the week after, and Sims 3 the week after that.

I can never gage the popularity of FPS though.

KZ2 is probably selling more from the bundles but LBP is probably due to the cheap price.

That release date calendar is pretty wrong, Operation Flashpoint doesn't have a release date and I doubt Alan Wake, The Conduit and Splinter Cell Conviction are coming out next month. :lol

I think UFC will be above Pokemon next week, I don't think PunchOut will do that well.

And all those other games are at full price and have never been on sale.

And about the chart all these games are selling poorly. This is the lowest month in sales since 07 and Wii fit has dropped in sales pretty consistently but remains number one in the chart so the games below it can't be selling all that much. We can't say such and such game is selling great only how well they are selling in relation to each other.

And as none of the games in that list currently sell at even close to their original RRP my sarcasm detector went off massively on the original statement.

M&S is the only one I've never seen for less than £10, but I have seen it for £15. :lol

I more meant that they were an equivalent slang term for one unit of currency. :)

Can't speak for Americans but due to the Americanization of UK culture i have heard people use bucks over here. Far more likely to hear fiver & tenner for the lower amounts and quid above that.

Thats true. You cant use quid to describe money in the u.s and vica versa.

Major new releases over the last 2 months have been few and far between, but this week sees 3 big new titles at 1-2-3 across 4 different formats.


It’s taken THQ’s mixed martial arts ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ to finally wrestle the top spot out of Nintendo’s hands with impressive week 1 sales split 52% Xbox360 & 48% PS3 – the game is developed by Yuke’s, best known most recently for the ‘WWE Smackdown vs Raw’ series 2006-2009. Nintendo debut at No2 with ‘Pokemon Platinum’ on DS, a director’s cut of ‘Pokemon Diamond’ & ‘Pokemon Pearl’, released in July 2007. EA debut at No3 with ‘EA Sports Active’, a Wii title aimed squarely at the lifestyle/fitness segment. Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ (+6%) had the last 7 consecutive weeks / 16 weeks in total at No1 and still needs 2 more No1’s to equal the all time record holder (‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ / Eidos). EA’s ‘FIFA 09’ (-8%) drops 3 places to No5, with Activision Blizzard’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ (+2%) dropping 3 places to No6. Nintendo’s ‘Wii Play’ (+95%) drops 2 places to No7, Nintendo’s ‘Mario Kart Wii’ drops 3 places to No8 (+13%) and Ubisoft’s own Wii lifestyle/fitness title ‘My Fitness Coach’ (+82%) climbs 5 places and back in to the Top 10 at No9. Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ drops 6 places to No10 (-0%). Also new this week is Capcom’s ‘Bionic Commando’ at No14, THQ’s ‘Big Family Games’ at No30 and Codemasters’ ‘Damnation’ at No35.

Ah ok, thanks for the info to the both of you, nli10 and pseudocaesar :) I just thought that "10 bucks" sounded a bit less money than "10 pounds/quids", so i just wanted to ask, and also to know for my own knowledge :) Thanks again! :)
