The only new entry is right behind at No2, Atari’s ‘The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dark Athena’ on 360/PS3/PC. EA’s ‘The Godfather II’ (-48%) drops one place to No3 and EA’s ‘FIFA 09’ also drops one place to No4 (-25%). The rest of the All Formats Top 10 shows no change over last week. Capcom’s ‘Resident Evil 5’ is No5 (-17%), Nintendo’s ‘Professor Layton and the Curious Village’ is No6 (-31%), Nintendo also stay put at No’s 7 & 8 with ‘Mario Kart Wii’ (-32%) and ‘Wii Play’ (-27%). Activision Blizzard remain at No9 with ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (-29%) and Take 2 stay at No10 with ‘Carnival: Funfair Games’ (-25%).

Man, 360 games are almost half of whats on the chart. Killzone 2 i still hanging n the top 20's I see and Layton continues to sell. Good show all around.

Killzone 2 still hanging in the top 20s... What's up with the RE5 PS3 rise?

And God, 360 sells a shit-ton of software.

Seems alot of games seen a bump this week, although some are pack-ins.

BenjaminBirdie said:
Yeah, even Halo Wars crept back in. Must have been a big week for hardware sales. Maybe the holiday?

Yeah I am sure some people will be please to see Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for both systems back on the charts :)

As I thought..Little Kings Story didn't even make the Top 40.

Utter lack of coverage from most gaming websites..and zero advertising. A real shame as this could have been big with a decent marketing push.

what period does the week cover? I'd have thought that as new releases in the UK are out on a Friday, the week would start with that Friday and continue to the following thursday, to maximise potential for new releases?

Also pikmin 2 was out on the same day, and thats not there either

Its all about context though. I can't go into specifics but a game at, say, number 35 for a week in the UK in April is not selling much at all (it's a bit different around Xmas) All the wii games are at least top 20 whereas there's a load of 360 and PS3 software there selling ultimately negligable amounts.

I know you all love "position" analysis:

Code:
DS GTA: Chinatown Wars 06-08-10-19-21-29
PSP GTA: Vice City Stories 06-07-10-11-13-18-13-13-11
PSP GTA: Liberty City Stories 02-04-10-10-09-12-12-12-06

Notes:

+ These are the positions in the All Formats All Prices chart
+ Chinatown Wars was released in a slower period (March-April)
+ LCS and VCS positions are from November-December
+ CW debuted on the same spot as VCS but sold half copies.

MadWorld keeps dropping while House of the Dead Overkill remains steady. LKS debuting at only N°13. Poor Wii performance overall, especially regarding the "hardcore" games. Damn Nintendo, why aren't you marketing your console more towards the actual gamers?

They're too busy counting the monies!

Seriously Nintendo, LKS is an awesome game, and all you can do is send out an email?
I would go so far as to say LKS is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> this much better than anything you've put out in 12-18months

Sort it out man, HD TV's are dropping like mad in price and people are taking the HD route now.

Just a heads up - LBP and BioShock (PS3) are £8.95 on Zavvi.co.uk The Darkness is £4.45

Good googly moogly! Truly an age in which you can pick up games like LBP and Bioshock for under a tenner is a golden one.

The important question that isn't being asked here, is how exactly did Who Wants To Be A Millionaire manage to get the all time record for length of time at #1!?

mail from Kenka to Nintendo said:
Hi guys/ hallo Leute / bonjour à tous,

This is another "I don't agree with you" moody and angry mail.

Recently, Nintenod stated that they are in quite a difficult position right now in Japan and that this situation came from a lack of adequate software for your customers.

You seem to forget that the "hardcore" crowd is also one of your customers, and a very faithful one.

Little King's Story has been launched in Europe and has received a very "mild" welcome from the UK gamers (13th in the Wii only chart of Chart-Track). No advertisement, no commercials, not even the slightest effort of your marketing teams in order promote this awesome game.

How do you want your faithful lovely gamers to stay by your side and promote your games in their surroundings if you don't bother launching games properly ? How do you except third-parties to make games on your plateform if they BOMB like hell because you don't give the slightest DAMN about your audiance ? We have been litteraly waiting for months for some decent game on the Wii coming from your company. Even during the all-time low Game Cube area, we didn't suffer this.

We paid for your console, move your bottoms and be sure your plateform remains alive. Both for your sake and ours.

Sincerly / Grüsse / Amitiés,

Kenka

Sent it to their three regional webmasters.

Would you tell me i I missed something or if anything should be changed ? This time, I really want them to listen. LKS bomba is too much to bear.

Are we really going to blame Nintendo personally for every game that doesn't set the world alight on one of their platforms?

Marvelous expect to sell a modest 124k copies of Little King Story in Europe. A massive TV advertising spend probably won't provide value for money.

I don't know quite why you're sending that to Nintendo. LKS is published in the UK - and Europe - by Rising Star Games. Promotion of the title in these regions is up to them, not Nintendo.

If you want to argue that Nintendo should be doing more to promote games in partnership with third parties, fair enough.
