EA’s ‘FIFA 10’ is top of the table for a second week despite a 64% drop in sales. Debuting at No2 is Codemasters’ self-developed tactical shooter ‘Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising’, which is now the publisher’s biggest selling launch title.

‘Need for Speed: Shift’ applies the gas to move back to No3, overtaking Nintendo’s ‘Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box’ which finds itself at No4. Nintendo also hold No5 with non-mover ‘Wii Sports Resort’, ahead of Microsoft’s ‘Halo 3: ODST’ at No6. Sony’s PSP racer ‘Gran Turismo’ moves 5 places up the grid from No12 to No7 and Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ is at No8. Nintendo’s fourth entry in the Top 10 is ‘Mario Kart Wii’ at No9 and Activision Blizzard’s ‘Guitar Hero 5’ is at No10. Warner Bros. Interactive’s emergent puzzler ‘Scribblenauts’ (from 5th Cell, the developers of ‘Drawn to Life’) is a new entry at No12. Lucasarts’ ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes’ debuts at No15 and Square Enix’s ‘Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days’ is at No17 - the first title in the series to be released on DS.

Wii and DS show a big recovery there vs some previous weeks. Was this the first week of the new wii bundle or...?

Problem with Beatles is that Rockband screwed over itself in Europe with the first two Rockband releases. It was already not easy for a more niche product like Beatles to succeed (Beatles today are more niche than people realise I think), but with the bad name especially among PS3 and Wii owners after delaying the European releases of Rockband for far too long, chanced have gone down considerably more. With a bit of luck and wod of mouth, long term sales may still end up half-decent.

Pea-roasted from Week 40 thread...

WTF? Did I not clearly say last week...

People, please stop buying NFS: Shit. You're only encouraging them.

And here it is, one place higher. Despite me spending all of last week in Gamestation rugby tackling people that picked it up. FFFFUUUUUUUUU.....

Glad to see GT PSP still up there, 2 places higher no less!

Edit: 29 (__) PS3 Gran Turismo 5: Prologue (Sony Computer Ent.) - WOO-HOOOOO!

Reposted from last weeks thread:

Nice to see the PC version of OPF: DR at 13. place.

And lol at Risen Xbox 360 at 39. Well at least it charted, but it should have been the PC version...

No, don't release a screenshot, people might see our revolutionary 2D spirtes!
Nooo, a trailer? are you insane, do you want people to be hyped for this?
STOP IT RIGHT THERE MISTER, no releasedate announcement untill a month before it hits.

And bomba.

I really don't understand why Nintendo keeps their cards so close to the chest. Well, I can understand it with projects like Wii Fit Plus, Vitality Sensor and Other M. But sequels like Bowser's Inside Story, Spirit Tracks, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2? What's the point? Afraid someone might steal the Mario Bros. concept even though they could've done it 20 years ago?

This kind of rationalization is going to make it all the more harrowing when it belly flops in the US as well.

Good for Operation Flashpoint. Easily filling the gap in the lack of quality tactical shooters, Ubi has really dropped the ball by ignoring Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon.

Like to see how it holds up past the first week, don't think it will hold out all that well personally with word of mouth on how the multi is set up, but we will see.

Looks like lot of older PS3 titles on the greatist hits side and stuff have gotten bumped. Infamous back on the chart, LBP, and KZ2 been back on the chart for 4 weeks now.

Yep, I'm one of those who just bought a PS3 Slim and never had a PS3 before. So I did indeed recently buy GT5 Prologue and LBP! Yay.

To be fair it wouldn't really matter if they had advertised it, it was never gonna sell a lot.At least Scribblenauts did quite well.

WTF @ GT5.
Do people not realise there are much better racing games on the PS3 that are also platinum?

GT5p, apart from having the brand name, is a completely different experience to Motorstorm. It'd be nice to see a bump for Ferrari Challenge / Supercar Challenge but I think they're a little too hardcore. GT5:p is the obvious choice for a new PS3 owner, especially if they want the shiniest HD experience possible. Once they finish with the relatively sparse GT they can then discover the joy of Motorstorm!

The obvious choice for a new ps3 owner that enjoys racing games is Motorstorm PR. It is the best looking, best playing and most enjoyable racing game on the ps3.
GT5 will no doubt be the definitive racing game of the generation, but buying a PS3 and picking GT5P over MSPR is ridiculous.

The latest norwegian chart says "Week 42", but seeing that this is the first week that Fifa 10 charted, i would guess that this is the chart for week 40. I also had to do this chart manually, so please correct me if i made any typos or mistakes :)

So if I prefer track racing to off-road racing I'd be ridiculous to pick up GT5p over Motorstorm? And if I prefer licensed cars? Sim physics?

They're completely different experiences. Neither invalidates the other.

I'd say the obvious choice for any Playstation owner looking for a racing game is the one with 'Gran Turismo' on the box.

Did Uncharted (the first one) hit #1 spot in its first week?

If not. then I 100% see Uncharted 2 coming in at #1 spot. Should be a good sign there are a bunch of new owners out there too.

Any idea why that is? I have a copy but I had to hunt it down and I've never seen one since. Such an under-rated gem. Still one of the best racers on the system and will probably be the best F1 game this gen unless Codies remember how to make a sim.

Sony lost the F1 license so I believe they probably can't produce anymore copies of the game.

8.000 sold (shipment 50.000 for France). I would say that´s not that good. In Uk some big retailers dropped the price for a PSPGo after 4 days... That´s pretty telling.
