I guess that depends on the Wii's lifespan. NSMBW will be he first game to benefit from holiday sales and from any special offers or novelties (colors, etc.) that nintendo introduces with the Wii.

So if nintendo introduces the next-gen console, say, in 2012 then it might be possible, still not sure if likely at all

I have a feeling that it will not reach 6 million.
I will be very surprised if it couldn't reach 5 million.
But if there is a low-price version of NSMB Wii, it WILL reach 6 Million.

I would say it's definitely becoming detached to the point where other factors are starting to weigh in significantly. What those factors are and what their impact on Wii hardware sales is would be the next real question.

Edit:

In case anyone hasn't encountered r^2 values before, what this means is that just under 50% of the weekly sales fluctuation for the Wii is accounted for by the sales of NSMB Wii, so the other factors combined are now causing the majority of the sales fluctuation. This does heavily suggest that NSMB Wii is still the primary driver in terms of Wii sales right now though, even if it's no longer accounting for the majority of the fluctuation.

It's been a while since I did this so please correct me if I'm doing something horribly wrong here.

Just bought Spirit Tracks new for ¥480 at Yodobashi. Blood of Bahamut is ¥980 and FFCCTCB is ¥1980.

SO4 PS3 is also in the bomba bin at ¥2980.

Might pick up Blood of Bombamut at that price, though, unless it is terrible. Not even bothered to look at reviews of it.
