Awesome SEGA Genesis Music

As I was casually browsing youtube I ran into Thunder Force IV's OST, a game I haven't played before for the Genesis and the music is pretty good.

Thunder Force IV OST 23 - Metal Squad
Thunder Force IV OST 06 - Evil Destroyer

I've always enjoyed Genesis's sound, and now more than ever I'd like to start building up a playlist of more 16bit glory. Here are some of my favorites.

Sonic & Knuckles Music: Lava Reef Zone Act 1
Sonic & Knuckles Music: Flying Battery Zone Act 1
can't touch this
Sonic 3 Music: Final Boss
Columns- Clotho (Sega Genesis)

Casino Night Zone 2 Player

Best videogame tune ever. While the 1 player one is good, the second one has a more laid back and jazzy take on the original...they're both very good and fit the stage really well but if I had the oppurtunity, I would have the 2 player tune be the original.

Dusk Golem

A 21st Century Rockefeller

Beat me to that one. I always have loved Lava Reef's music for some reason, though I would argue that Sonic 3 & Knuckles had some of the best music in the Sonic series, with a few other favorites being Death Egg Zone Act 1, and the famous Ice Cap Zone.

For some reason, the first thing that came to me was the Ecco the Dolphin soundtrack. Not really awesome, but something ambient, soothing, but creepy.
Ecco- Island Zone
Ecco- Ice Zone
Ecco- Welcome to the Machine

Castlevania Bloodlines - Reincarnated Soul
Not only one of the best of the Genesis but one of the most underrated Castlevania songs period.

This is glorious, and I played that game as well and am surprised I forgot about that amazing song. Everyone should give this a listen, it's honey for the ears.

Rocket Knight Adventures has some awesome music.

I heard Michiru Yamane (Castlevania) worked on it, so that might explain why.

Wouldn't surprise me, I actually have never played Rocket Knight and have been meaning to give it ago. Kind of a unique tune here, I haven't heard a sound like this on the Genesis. Pretty good.

........

This is....amazing.....wow...

Thank you for posting this, definitely a new favorite.

Almost every track in Gauntlet IV, especially this.

Surprisingly I never played Gauntlet IV, but I am a huge Gauntlet fan. Lovely OST, it's easier on the ears than most Genesis music.

Elemental Master? Another one I haven't played. This is pretty good, I'm lovin' it. This is music for the soul.

Every song from every Sonic game which I won't be posting.

Streets of Rage - Fighting In The Street

Kind of reminds me of a Casino level in a Sonic game.

This actually sounds really close to the NES, interesting.

Really bright music with loud beats, I'll gladly take it!

Oh, yeah, it's as well-known as something can be and still be considered under the radar. Thunder Force IV is probably the stereotypical "gamer's 1st deep cut." It's way better than pretty good!

I'll try to get something people usually wouldn't post, Masahiro Yuge's V V/Grind Stormer. It's a shoot-'em-up by the great Toaplan. http://www.**********************/toaplan/toaplan6.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5092ICbOOoM http://vgmdb.net/album/1238

Even though it began in arcades, it's SUPER-Mega-Drive-y. I mean, geez:

Edit: You jerks have got me wanting to replay Bloodlines. I don't have time to get good at it again!

Thunder Force IV is also really kick ass for having such diverse music. Apart from it being high quality I could barely believe that this song was on the same game as Metal Squad.
