With the next generation of consoles looming on the horizon and the month of spooks upon us, its the perfect time to complete those backlogs! Get to playing your favorite games that have been on those shelves this generation, preferably those scary ones for a bit of flavor.

The challenge is simple, complete three games in October. They can be games you started in September 2013, or December 1997, it doesn't matter, just get them done by November.

Tools:

Backloggery
How Long to Beat
GAF Backlog Blitz Thread

Past Threads:

Three in September - Backlog Warrior
Four in August - Backlog Declassified
Five in July - The Ultimate Backlog Challenge
Four in June - Can You Handle The Backlog Heat?
Three in May - Backlog Returns 3D
Two in April. Destroyin' Backlogs HD Edition
Three in March. Destroyin' Backlogs One Thread at a Time
Four in February, take a bite out of your backlog

My List:

SMT IV (3DS) - Been working on this one for a little while now and just about to cross the finish line. Its really best to play the game in bursts as the constant battles can get a bit tedious.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs (PC) - Been saving this game for October, time to man-up and get to it.
Tomb Raider (PC) - Almost finished with the game, impressions with this one have been very solid. Thoroughly enjoying the romp for what it is.

Beaten:
Tomb Raider (PC)
Bioshock 2 (PC)
I ran into some problems this month as I was covering the removal of GFWL from Bioshock 2 and the Arkham games, and I, of course, had to play them.
I was also gifted Volgarr the Viking from GAFer Toddhunter, and got an invite to the Hearthstone Closed Beta.

Grand Theft Auto V
Arkham City
Resident Evil 6

last month as was a bad one, despite a week off work where I just binged on TV Boxsets. lol.

Ok, let's do this.

Grand Theft Auto V. Not that far in, this one should take me a while...
Amnesia The Dark Descent. I love anything horror, but there's a reason this is still in my backlog.
Alpha Protocol or Mass Effect 3. I got ME3 as a bday gift when it came out and still haven't touched it because of the backlash.

Gonna try to beat:

Love Survivor (Vita)
Rainbow Moon (PS3)
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (PS3)

Gonna try and chip away at the DLC for Sleeping Dogs, Aliens: Colonial Marines & Operation Raccoon City as well.

let's see
What I'll try
finishing:
Assassin's Creed III
Spec Ops: The Line
Catherine

Will be glad to finish at least one of those!

First time I'm doing one of these challenges, so I'll stick to games where I've made some progress:

Shadowrun Returns
FTL: Faster than Light (well, progress as in figuring out how to play the game)
Muramasa Rebirth

Bonus:
The Walking Dead
Persona 4 Golden (lol)

Games I aim to finish this month:
Lost Planet 3
Puppeteer

I'm sure there's at least one mroe game I can finish, but that's the ones I'm aiming for atm.

Super Meat Boy
Mass Effect 2
The Last of Us
Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

All games I should've finished by now. Gotta finish up my XBLA version of Super Meat Boy first, but I'm pretty much done, so I won't count it as one of the three. Beat it on Ubuntu twice before.

Edit: Replaced Ni No Kuni with Clash of Heroes since I'm hopelessly addicted after getting it from Games for Gold or whatever.

Grand Theft Auto V
Demon's Souls
Deadlight

Come Halloween time, I'd like to start either Amnesia: The Dark Descent or S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

Didn't get XCOM finished off last month, so I guess I'll start with that. Following that up?

XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Wonderful 101
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Killzone: Mercenary
Tales of Xillia
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Pokemon X/Y

Already got a head start by finishing Killzone: Mercenary at 2AM.
whatup procrastinators

26 hours into Tales of Xillia as Jude, should be done by the weekend. On Chapter 15 in Fire Emblem: Awakening. Of course anything goes and I may most likely start a random game to take a break from all the RPG goodness.

Kid Icarus: Uprising
Link's Awakening
TBD

Kid Icarus I'm playing along with a let's play of the game so that will depend on if that finishes this month. About halfway through so it should.

LA I've been trying to finish forever and just always forget. Will make an effort with LBW coming out.

I didn't finish mine last month, I guess it was a bit much anyways.

My list:
Etrian Odyssey Untold,
Xenoblade Chronicles,
Wind Waker HD

Bonus:
SMT IV,
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix

ok, I'm aiming to finish these:

- GTA V (40%) in
- Ni No Kuni (Half way through, stopped after I got GTA. Beautiful game by the way)
- Dragon's Crown (Haven't started yet, probably be able to finish one play through, planning on doing more with different characters)

My list:

- The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
- Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice for All

Luckily, I'm already deep into Etrian Odyssey IV (currently at the end of the third stratum). :)

People actually play games in their backlog?
I thought it was there for hoarding.

Though I have been meaning to play The Last Remnant, Resonance of Fate and Oblivion... But clearing all those in a month would require me to quit my job and embrace one with the NEET,

Finally going to complete Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines this month. Had it since almost release but never go too far into it.

Next will be Amnesia 1 and 2.

Finally, I think I'm going to go for platinum in Demon Souls.

W101 what a legendary game that was

Guacamelee awesome metroidvania action, highly recommended

Fire Emblem Awakening fuck yes

I even got to play ~35 hrs of Pokemon Y this month, so not a bad month :)

I'm on dis.

Main's:
Bioshock Infinite
Gyana Sisters
The Saboteur

Bonus round
Beyond 2 Souls
rain
Puppeteer
Stealth Bastard

This is the month
Final fantasy viii
SOTN
RE:2
I can't believe its been this long and I have still not beaten FFviii, or even played the other two.

those are the big three, but I will also I will be playing xenoblade chronicles, fatal frame 2, and the ace attorney series for the first time.

Alright, I think I'll go with:

Ratchet: Gladiator HD
Vanquish
Resident Evil 6

Bonus games:
Zone of the Enders HD
Mortal Kombat
Stacking
Costume Quest

I'll try

Etrian Odyssey IV - Near the end of the fourth land
Tales of Graces F - Somewhat into the game
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix - Just started

Failed last month, so I'll just post the three games I'm playing now.

Fallout: New Vegas - Dead Money (leveling up a character for it, aiming for 20, is lvl 15 now).
GTAV
Spelunky

Enjoying all games that much that I aren't really striving for beating them though. :)

I only managed 2 last month (Eufloria, Mario & Luigi 2) but I might be able to do 3 this month.

Kirby Mass Attack - I'm in world 3, 3 medals left to collect and I'm done with that world, this should put me at around 70% complete
Pokemon Y - 2.5 weeks to see the credits...I'll try my best

Not decided on game 3. Thinking of:
Mario Kart 7 - Shall we say first Place first in all cups in all cart classes (5/8 done with 150 CC then after that is mirror and 50 CC*)
Pilotwings resort - Reach credits I suppose

*-Why do I always leave 50CC to last...it just ends up really dull.

Whelp, it's that time again.

ONGOING:
Might and Magic Book One: The Secret of the Inner Sanctum
- 42 maps in of a total of 55, although some - about seven, I think? - are incomplete.
Call of Duty 2
- I keep playing through a mission or two every few months! At this rate, I might finish it this year.
Black Mirror
- I haven't officially abandoned this, but I'm somewhat at a loss when it comes to recalling what I'm doing.
Picross E2
- My current go-to fodder for the commute, but it'll be superseded from here on as I start catching up with Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two each morning on the commute. Should still be able to play it on the way back.

INTENDING TO START:
Etrian Odyssey 2
- Won't start this until M&M's polished off, but it's feasible that I can finish that this month, I think.
GTA4: The Lost and the Damned
GTA4: The Ballad of Gay Tony
- When I move my deep RPG experience onto the handhelds, I'll probably be ready for some fast-paced shootbang on my downstairs setup.

I do have one other title waiting in the wings, but that's a very occasional play. I'm nearing the end, I believe, in so far as that term's meaningful.

Gonna give this a shot for the first time since we're getting close to next-gen releases and I know I won't care after that. I'll try:

Soul Sacrifice (loved it, but haven't really had the opportunity to really dig in)
The Last of Us (got about halfway through before I had to go out to university)
Black Mesa

and as a bonus:

Killzone Mercenary (nearly done with it, but I wanna put some more time in)

Well I guess technically I could say the witcher 2 since I beat it at like 2 AM,

But I think that would be cheating so my real three are:
Mass Effect
Tomb Raider
Super Mario 3D land.

I;m already a quite a way into 3D land so hopefully it won;t take too long.

Shin Megami Tensei IV [3DS]
Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi [3DS]
The Wondeful 101 [WiiU] - Planning on 100%ing it.

That's pretty much it as far as my backlog goes. Of course Sonic, Zelda, and Pokemon are all dropping so I'll have plenty to do.

Let's see, I got tons of games I have no idea which to do and which to delay, anyway

Shadows of the Damned

Dead To Rights Retribution

The Last of Us ---------- Not sure.

Batman Arkham City

Batman Arkham Origin

There are some more, but let's keep it at this for now.

Dead Space 3 (not sure exactly how far i am)
The Witcher 2
Mirrors Edge (2-3 hours in on PC)

Bonus
Batman Arkham Origins. comes with my new graphics card
Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragons Keep (about 8-10 hours in I think)

Top Bottom
