With only a few weeks until Christmas 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' (-21%) takes the No1 for a 3rd consecutive week and its 5th time at the top since launch.

EA's 'FIFA 14' (-3%) just falls short of taking the crown at No2 by less than 600 sales. 'Lego Marvel Superheroes' (+70%) climbs up to No3 with retailer promotions propelling it 3 places while 'Battlefield 4' (-5%) slips a spot to No4. 'Assassin's Creed: Black Flag' (-12%) is also down a place to No5 while another Ubisoft title 'Just Dance 2014' (-5%) continues its climb to No6. 'Need for Speed: Rivals' (+35%) reaches its highest position since launch climbing back into the Top 10 at No7. Take 2's record breaker 'Grand Theft Auto V' (-40%) is down three places to No8 a place ahead of their other Top 10 title 'WWE 2K14'(+12%) continuing its week on week climb to No9. After its debut last week current PS3 exclusive 'Gran Turismo 6' (-37%) is down to No10 just edging out 'Killzone: Shadow Fall' (-36%) at No11.

Further down the chart Xbox One exclusive 'Dead Rising 3' (+43%) delivers a strong week of sales which sees it climb from No29 to No18. Elswhere in the Top 40 retailer bundling sees Sega's 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' soar 38 places to No33.

Seeing all those 3DS games that low is really depressing. It just hasn't really gained any traction over here. This is the time when every kid should be asking for these games for Christmas, but apparently not.

I'm not saying the thing is dead or anything... it's just very underwhelming.

Didn't even consider that, but yeah, I really thought with the 2DS we'd be seeing a second coming. Real shame. I shudder to think how many kids will get their inaugural chunk of gaming through Dead Rising 3 and CoD.

3DS just hasn't taken off in the UK yeah but outside of the DS Nintendo handhelds have never really dominated here.

Its interesting that Cod and Fifa, two mainstream titles are leading on xbone, while battlefield and AC, which skew more to the hardcore are selling better on playstation.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

Having charts so full of SKUs doesn't help either in the placements. The All Formats charts shows 6 3DS titles in top 40, including Layton and Mario Kart 7. Not to say 3DS UK situation isn't so positive, as for the whole Nintendo. I even made a thread about it, if you're interested http://neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734333

As pointed out by Guymelef in last week's thread:

Those and XB1 having more available stock here probably explain why those two games charted higher on XB1, the other multiplatform games higher on PS4.

The bundles appear to have a mini-launch effect on all the XBone software: nearly every XBone title is up the ranks.

Assassins Creed is skewed towards the hardcore? In what reality? Because it sure as shit ain't this one...

Actually it's far more likely their first experiences with gaming will be playing on a smartphone/tablet.

I was buying my nephew's xmas present at TRU and the guy in front of me was buying 3 XBONEs. He looked in his early 20's, so I can't believe their presents for his kids.
..I really wanted to ask why he was getting 3.

What confuses me is Killzone is placed so high, I'm assuming it's still bundled though which doesn't make sense if it's as you say and Xbox One has more stock.

I wonder why nobody goes into Media Create threads and posts 'lol Japanese taste awful games look at that shit in the top 10'. I mean, I can look at the Japanese charts on any given week and see a large number of titles that I wouldn't ever want to play, but I see no point in mentioning that fact.

It's a bit odd that people week on week are disgusted that the large mainstream franchises that have always been successful in the UK continue to be successful in the UK.

Yeah, that thread sums up the situation nicely. RRP for software being £10 more expensive than DS is significantly hurting sales. Remember the DS broke with the touch! generations titles that went for as low as £20. 3DS has no equivalent and even NSMB2 launched at £40 (!) -- and there are never any good discounts for the evergreen titles (even GTAV was running for £30 for weeks at GAME) -- that's what most new PS360 games launch at.

It's a bit odd that people week on week are disgusted that the large mainstream franchises that have always been successful in the UK continue to be successful in the UK.

TBF people do sometimes do that, it's likely has to do with MC being generally larger due to hardware results, it mostly gets drowned out.

Obviously that and a lot of people really hate those mainstream franchises for one reason or another.

The UK bashing made sense when there was still a chance that the Wii U's fortunes were limited to one territory. Now, it just seems like desperate flailing. The trends are almost identical to America, the games at the top are almost identical across all of europe, albeit with the PS3/PS4 dominating the rankings instead of the 360.

I never would have believed the whole "PS4's are out of stock everywhere, so some will pick up a Xbone instead" thing, but this chart makes me wonder.

It really does just look like MS has much better stock this week than the last two, only way to explain XBO titles going up. Mirrors the retail musings we've heard in America.

Its interesting that Cod and Fifa, two mainstream titles are leading on xbone, while battlefield and AC, which skew more to the hardcore are selling better on playstation.

And the reach of the day goes to...

Exactly people try to make it seem that fifa and COD don't top the charts all over europe and its some kind of UK pandemic.

Must be good hardware sales for XBO/PS4 still if bundled games are charting high at the busiest time of year, something Wii U never managed.

The day people stop buying shitty call of duty games seems to never come. :(

With the rise of 60fps FPS' it could happen, EA had a good chance to start something with BF4 having a significant next gen jump into the New generation compared to COD but nooooooooo they just had to fuck it up EAlol style.

Just because you do not like call of duty, does not make it a shitty game. My cousins and I all got together tonight and the 4 of us played cod online and we had a great time for hours. There are many games I think are silly, but you don't see me and others going into threads calling them shitty because we do not like them. Seriously, the whining is pretty bad.

As pointed out by Guymelef in last week's thread:

Those and XB1 having more available stock here probably explain why those two games charted higher on XB1, the other multiplatform games higher on PS4.

Isn´t the COD bundle only out by today?

TBF people do sometimes do that, it's likely has to do with MC being generally larger due to hardware results, it mostly gets drowned out.

Obviously that and a lot of people really hate those mainstream franchises for one reason or another.

That, and people don't recognize/understand many of the titles.

Japanese charts offer some surprises from time to time, they are more interesting.

Also Smoky complaining about thread trashing is quite ironic.

You'll be waiting a long time. the young male gun fetish audience is the only audience that is being cultivated at the aaa level. Thats why all big non-sports games have shooting. It's a shame all those new wii owners 06/07 were fed heaping scoops of shovelware, kinda razed that audience.

I'm hoping that maybe kinect2 will be able to at least help keep the fitness genre moving forward, but we'll see.

I wish bundled software didn't show up in charts like this - just software people have directly paid for. Clouds the situation
