Following a fantastic reception to the PS3 and PS VITA release of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F in North America and Europe, SEGA is proud to announce that we will be bringing Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd to the West later this year!

That’s right. You’re not dreaming. We believed in all of you and we asked for your support – and you gave it to us without reservation. It was your supportive comments, your encouraging words at every place we showed the game, and your drive that made all the difference. Some of you bought the game twice – others three or even four times. But whether you picked it up once or four times, all of you helped make Miku a success, and still do. Thank you so much for that.

Now, it’s our turn to believe in you once more.

This fall, we will be releasing Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd for both the Playstation 3 and the Playstation VITA. Project DIVA F 2nd features similar but improved gameplay over the first game, with a whopping 40 songs – a collection of the best new songs, and some of the most loved classic songs, previously only available in the Japanese releases. You can check out two of those in our trailer!

Besides 40 songs and four difficulties for each in the Rhythm Game, players can look forward to the return of the impressive Edit Mode feature, which lets you build your very own videos and Rhythm games using all of the in-game assets, and share them online with the world. It has seen notable improvements over the first version, and we can’t wait to see what amazing creations you all will build with it!

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd Announcement

And finally, because we like good news, I’ll drop a hint here that we have some fun stuff in the works for our Western release.

I’m pleased to confirm one of those things right now: We will be releasing a Packaged version of the game for both the Playstation 3 and the PS VITA!

One of the primary comments we saw across the internet over the last year was that PS3 owners loved their physical copies, and that so many PS VITA owners wished one was available. We begin our campaign today by announcing that whichever platform you own, you’ll be able to reserve a physical copy of DIVA F 2nd when it releases!

We’ll have much more news regarding Project DIVA F 2nd as we near E3, but in the meantime, we hope this news has made your day a little brighter.

Thank you all once more for supporting us, and here’s to the future of Hatsune Miku in the West!

Yes!! This is amazing news. Glad I was able to resist importing Hatsune back in the day. Diva F and f have been on a steady rotation (outside of Dark Souls 2) on my PS3 and Vita.

Not surprised, seemed like Sega was pretty happy with how the games were doing over here. I'll certainly be picking it up when it drops.

Wonder if they'll consider Project Mirai too.

Day 1 Vita!

To celebrate this I might double dip on Vita version of the first game one of these days.

But seriously tho, 2014 is insanely awesome for Vita. Did not expect it to be this good.

Glad to see Sega support games that are worth localizing. If only some of their other franchises got the same kind of love as Miku.

Retail is surprising. Vita getting a retail version and it not coming out after the PS3 version is as well.

If the retail copies come in Europe I'll quadruple dip I guess.

Hopefully not just a copy and paste job at the EU playstation blog:

And finally, because we like good news, I’ll drop a hint here that we have some fun stuff in the works for our European release. I’m pleased to confirm one of those things right now: We will be releasing a packaged version of the game for both PS3 and PS Vita!

Nice to see the Vita version is getting a physical release this time. Wanted to get that version of f due to portability & headphones, but being digital only made me want to hold on until I could afford it with the budget I have.

& congrats to the fans for getting another game to be localized.

Wait, what?
And physical release too. Now I'm considering canceling my preorder of the japanese version.
Edit: Just noticed it already shipped today, not sure how to feel about it. I did buy the japanese import and the localized version for the first game but not sure if I will do it again.

Not going to get excited about physical release unless someone at SEGA specifically says Europe is included. Not just some lazy copy and paste on the EU PSN blog.

Edit: Beaten by a large margin. D:

I'm super psyched for this. If Europe is indeed getting a physical release, I will double dip.

I'm really happy this is getting a physical version for both. Was thinking about importing, but now I'll definitely get the European version. I just can't decide which one.

Happy to hear this. Was a bit disappointed over the length of the song list in PDf, so knowing that 2nd is nearly double that is pretty encouraging.

I'm laughing that this was announced on the day I paid off my PS3 and Vita imports. Oh well, it's not like I was not going to get the imports because of this announcement... but quadruple dipping is very likely.

For some reason i thought it was already known lol, anyway good news, especially the packaged version for Vita.
Imo it was not a good move to announce it just few days after the release of the first one though.

That's just a low blow. I like both so what does that mean?

I bought both to support the series western release. Can we have Yakuza now? :(

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I bought every Yazuka game as well. lol =)
